Chapter Fifty-Two: Young Master Liuyue

Completely bewildered, I walked towards the side room and asked the madam who had summoned me. She just kept smiling and even produced a gold ingot, presumably given to me by that person.

Someone who spends so lavishly must be a high-ranking official or nobleman.

"Could it be him?" My heart was pounding.

What should I do if it's him?

As I approached the door of the side room, I lost the courage to step inside.

Just as I was pondering this, a gentle voice rang out: "Is it Young Master Liuyue who has arrived!"

"Mo Sheng?"

"Did he recognize me?"

As if he knew I would come, he placed two blue-and-white porcelain wine cups on the table, and the faint fragrance of osmanthus could be smelled on the breeze.

"Young master, are you looking for me?"

"Please sit down, young master! I have heard that you, Young Master Liuyue, are very knowledgeable, so I brought a treasure with me for you to examine!"

"Honey? He gave me a music watch last time, I wonder what he'll pull out this time!"

He pulled a book out from under a black cloth.

I recognized it immediately as my sketchbook and was very puzzled: "How did the sketchbook end up in his hands!"

He handed me the book and said, "Young master, could you tell me what kind of brush and ink this was made with?"

I pretended to look through it, feigning difficulty, and said, "Sorry! I can't tell what it was drawn with."

He said with a regretful expression, "That's such a pity!"

I reluctantly handed the sketchbook back to him, then thought for a moment and said, "You can't figure it out just by looking at it. If you trust me, sir, you can let me take it back and study it!"

"That's great, then I'll have to trouble you, young master!"

I reached out with a smug look on my face, and just as I was about to get it, he took the book back.

"I won't trouble you, young master!"

I quickly snatched the sketchbook from his hands.

"No trouble at all, no trouble at all!"

Little did he know that in his haste, he had inadvertently revealed his true voice.

As he left, he said behind me, "How long are you going to keep this from me?"

I stood there dumbfounded for a moment, then pretended to be clueless and said, "I don't know what you mean, sir?"

"The woman in the painting is named Okra, and she comes from the 21st century!"

"You...you..." I was so excited I couldn't speak.

He stared intently into my eyes and said with utmost seriousness, "Because I also come from that era!"

This news struck me like a bolt of lightning, giving me a jolt.

Where are you from?

Why did you come here?

How did you get here?

Seeing that I was determined to get to the bottom of it, he couldn't help but smile, his eyes full of doting affection.

He vaguely brushed it off, saying, "We should be thinking about how to get back now!"

"That's right! Have you found a way back?"

He nodded firmly: "Found it!"

"What method?"

I was standing right next to him, and as he looked into my big, watery eyes, his heart was pounding.

A blush flashed across his cheeks as he said, "The next total solar eclipse is on the tenth of next month. As long as the two strangers marry, they can go back together!"

I subtly moved a distance away from him: "No...no way!"

Seeing my disbelieving look, he asked, "You don't believe me?"

"letter!"

Seeing that my explanation sounded somewhat forced, a wry smile appeared on his lips.

“I started researching from the very first day I arrived here, and I’ve been waiting for this day to come for a full three years and two months!”

This news came like a thunderbolt from a clear sky; I never imagined there was someone from another world besides me.

"I...I need to think about it."

"Oh……"

He sneered and said, "There's only one way to go back. If you agree, we can go home right now!"

These words kept echoing in my ears, so much so that I didn't see the horse galloping towards me.

With a neigh from the horse, it was too late for me to react; the horse was about to trample me.

Suddenly, a pale purple figure pounced towards me, and my heart leaped into my throat.

I felt myself being lifted into the air, and when I looked again, the horse was already subdued. I was so surprised I couldn't close my mouth.

Ye Lisheng had one arm around my waist. Looking at his face, which loomed large in front of me, my heart was pounding wildly.

But at this point, he couldn't utter a single word.

He coldly placed me on the ground, and Bai Juanjuan, who was running towards him, gave him a thumbs up.

"Brother Ye, well done!"

"Brother Ye? Who is this woman?" She called him so affectionately.

What happened next completely surprised me. To my surprise, he smiled at her, a smile as dazzling as the stars in the sky.

I'm so angry I want to kick him away. He kept saying he liked me, but he didn't look for me when I disappeared, and now he doesn't even recognize me standing right in front of him.

Bai Juanjuan looked me up and down with a surprised expression and said, "Heavens! A man's waist is even thinner than mine!" As she spoke, she stretched out her devilish hand and compared it to my waist.

I was so frightened that I stumbled backward, feeling as if I had bumped into a wall of flesh. When I turned around, it was Yu Shaoqing.

"This humble subject pays respects to the Prince of Anyang!"

The sun shone its light relentlessly, making it exceptionally hot to the eye.

Suddenly the sun overhead wasn't so scorching anymore. I looked up and met Yu Shaoqing's gentle eyes. It turned out he had used his oil-paper umbrella to shield me from the sun.

I think if I hadn't met Ye Lisheng, I probably would have fallen for him.

Two grown men sharing an umbrella will inevitably attract strange looks from others.

"Look."

"Two grown men sharing an umbrella!"
