Chapter Five: The Concubine Comes to Cause Trouble

Although I couldn't find the kitchen, it didn't affect my mood at all.

At this moment, a golden full moon hung high in the azure sky. The roadside was covered in lush green grass, dotted with small yellow and pink wildflowers. The occasional clear birdsong filled the air; it was an incredibly pleasant experience.

Seeing this, he stretched lazily with his hands above his head, took a deep breath filled with the fragrance of grass, made a heart shape with his hands towards the sun, and muttered to himself, "Oh well, oh well, what's done is done! I'll just treat it as a vacation!"

Suddenly, a mocking voice rang out from behind: "What are you muttering to yourself about?"

Turning his head at the sound, he saw Ye Xuanling sitting on the wall, looking at him with a devilish smile, waving at him: "Good morning, handsome!"

Ye Xuanling waved in her manner, but it was unclear what she meant: "Good morning!"

He came to his side, looked him up and down, and nodded with satisfaction: "You look much better now than before!"

"Before?" she asked, her face full of questions, unsure of what he meant.

Seeing that I wasn't pretending, Ye Xuanling asked, "Are you really not Murong Kui?"

With a helpless sigh, she said, "Although I don't know who you're talking about, Murong Kui, I'm really not her. My name is Qiu Kui, Qiu as in autumn and Kui as in sunflower!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Ye Xuanling burst out laughing.

I glared at him coldly, my expression full of disdain.

Seeing this, Ye Xuanling stopped talking and changed the subject, asking, "Why are your clothes wet?" He glanced at the corner of his clothes and asked.

Speaking of which, she came to me full of anger: "Isn't it all because the concubine came to cause trouble!" she said with a resentful look.

Ye Xuanling's lips curled into a beautiful smile, and he said to her mysteriously, "Want to watch a show?"

Unable to contain her curiosity, she followed him.

Before long, an artificial hill came into view, and the faint sound of a woman cursing could be heard: "You all have a good time, but I'm the one who's suffering!"

My eyes widened like saucers: "I know who owns that voice!" My tone was filled with resentment, as if I wanted to roll up my sleeves and beat her up.

Ye Xuanling made a "shh" gesture to me, indicating that she should look down.

Behind the artificial hill, a group of women dressed in brightly colored clothes were complaining: "Nothing good ever comes when Murong Kui comes back. It's because of him that the prince hasn't come to Xueyuan for a long time!"

"We need to teach her a lesson!"

I immediately understood; it was because that woman named Murong Kui had stolen their favor. But what did it have to do with me? The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Suddenly, my bright, sparkling eyes lit up, and an idea came to me.

When Ye Xuanling saw my malicious gaze directed at her, she sensed that something was terribly wrong.

A little while later...

"Whoosh..." Water inexplicably poured down from the sky.

"Ah..." A series of screams suddenly rang out, and the beauties instantly turned pale.

The culprit was holding a wooden bucket in one hand and covering his mouth with the other, chuckling to himself. Ye Xuanling looked at the bucket in his hand with a helpless expression: "When did I, the dignified Sixth Prince, start to resort to underhanded tricks like a little woman!"

"That's called 'an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth'," I corrected, my face full of conviction.

The woman in red roared in near-collapse, "Who is it? Show yourself if you dare!"

Startled, Ye Xuanling picked me up like a chick and carried me away. Being petite, it wasn't difficult for her to lift me.

Only two buckets remained, lying forlornly on the ground.

"I didn't expect you to be afraid of them?"

"Fear? I've never even known the word 'fear' in my entire life."

I curled my lip: "You're just bragging!"

"That woman in red is called Yu'er. Apart from Murong Kui, she is Sixth Brother's most beloved woman. And congratulations, you've offended them all!"

"What's wrong?"

Aren't you afraid they'll tell Sixth Brother?

"What are you afraid of? You're still here, aren't you?" He patted his shoulder and said.

Ye Xuanling looked bewildered: "What does this have to do with me?"

"You're an accomplice, and you're a prince, while I'm just a lowly maid. If you said you forced me, I don't think anyone would doubt it!" She said, a hint of smugness on her face.

If you listen closely, you can hear the "grinding" sound of Ye Xuanling's teeth clenching, which is incredibly cute. One can only silently shed tears: "Women and petty men are the hardest to deal with!" he roared to the sky.

It was well past 11 AM before I finally found the kitchen after many twists and turns. As I approached, the aroma of food filled the air, and my stomach rumbled with hunger, letting out a few protesting cries.

He patted his belly and said confidently, "Don't worry, I definitely won't treat you badly later!"

Just then, one by one, beautiful maids dressed exactly like her carried out trays of food in an orderly fashion.

A plump middle-aged man muttered in their ears, "Hold your bowls properly, or you'll be in big trouble if you spill them!"

"He must be in charge, right?" she muttered to herself as she approached him.

I extended my hand in a friendly gesture to shake his: "Hello! I'm new here!"

The man gave her a strange look, then swung the thin stick in his hand and struck her palm.

I winced in pain and pulled my hand back: "How could you do this to me!"

"You must be the new maid! Look at the time of day!"

"But you can't hit people!" she said, sounding somewhat aggrieved.

"This is my territory, what, you have a problem with that?"

I took a deep breath, suppressing my anger, and said with a smile, "No, no objection!"
