Chapter Ninety-Four

Inside the secluded alley, a carriage had been waiting for quite some time. The driver wore a straw hat with the brim pulled low, and held a sword in his hand.

Just then, a veiled woman hurried over, carrying a bundle on her back, and kept looking back.

"You've arrived?" the coachman said coldly, pulling his hat brim up to reveal sharp eyes.

With a thud, the woman knelt on the ground.

"What are you doing?" he said, and tried to pull her up.

"Young Master and the Guardian of the Mausoleum have shown us such great kindness that I don't know how to repay them!"

A complex emotion flashed in his eyes: "The one who saved your life is named Qiu Kui. If you want to repay her kindness, pray that she is safe and that the prince finds her soon!"

Murong Kui, dressed in a light purple gauze dress and draped in a silver fox fur robe, calmly and composedly sipped her tea.

Lingxin walked to the door, brushed the snow off her hair and clothes, and then came in, clearly having just returned from outside.

"Greetings, Your Highness!"

"How about it?"

"As the princess predicted, the maidservant did not die and was escorted out of the city by the guards!"

After speaking, Murong Kui raised her red lips and smiled with a touch of allure.

"Everyone knows who killed the young prince; that maid was just a decoy!"

Lingxin looked incredulous: "Does the princess mean that the murderer is really His Highness Prince Anyang?"

"No!"

"It's Prince Yu!"

Lingxin's jaw nearly dropped to the ground in shock: "Isn't...Isn't the young prince Prince Yu's biological child?"

Murong Kui said calmly, "That's what's truly terrifying!"

Ling was so shocked that she couldn't calm down for a long time.

Murong Kui changed the subject and asked again, "Have you found the person?"

"The prince has sent out all the guards in the manor, but there's still no news of that woman!"

The smile on Murong Kui's lips was enough to show how happy she was: "It's good that they're gone, it saves us the trouble of taking action!"

"Princess, what if she returns?" Lingxin asked.

"Bang!" She slammed the teacup down on the table, making a loud noise that startled Lingxin.

"Princess, have I said something wrong?"

Her eyes were filled with ruthlessness, and she said sharply, "I'll make sure she leaves alive but doesn't come back alive!"

"Has the princess come up with a plan?"

"When I came to Lingqi, my brother gave me a group of secret guards, and now it's time to put them to use!"

"Tell them to keep a close watch, and to kill her the moment she appears!"

"Crackling and popping!" The sound of firecrackers echoed through the sky, and red lanterns and red couplets were hung throughout the streets and alleys.

The whole street was bustling with activity, and children in their new clothes were running around.

Colorful fireworks burst forth in the inky sky, it was absolutely beautiful!

Ling Shuang, dressed in men's clothing, sat on the rooftop gazing up at the sky, but her face showed no joy.

"What beautiful fireworks!"

Nangong Liuli looked at her profile; her long, curved eyelashes fluttered as if they were dancing.

In that instant, he felt that even the most beautiful fireworks paled in comparison to her.

She turned around and met his eyes. Startled, he quickly looked away. If it weren't for the darkness, his face would have been bright red.

He changed the subject, saying, "You don't seem too happy?"

"She's gone missing. No one talks to me anymore. Brother Ye searches for her every day, and Brother Ba is always with Yanran. They all have their own things to do, and I'm all alone!"

"It seems like everything changed overnight!"

"My time to marry into the Lan Yi tribe is drawing near; you should also find a good place to go!"

Looking into her sincere eyes, Nangong Liuli felt as if the softest part of her heart had been touched.

He grinned and said, "The princess told me this is the best place to go!"
