Chapter Sixty-Seven

The wind was blowing fiercely, howling like a ferocious beast attacking; the snow was piled up deep, reaching up to your ankles when you stepped into it.

Ye Lisheng was dressed in a purple robe, and the golden hair crown on his head showed his extremely noble status. His eyes were sharp and intimidating.

The longsword in his hand gleamed coldly, and the surrounding guards shrank back, not daring to step forward.

Mo Sheng dismissed the others and stepped forward alone, bowing respectfully: "Greetings, Your Highness!"

"I was unaware of Your Highness's presence; I have failed to greet you properly!"

He seemed oblivious to the sword in his hand and said to himself, "Your subject understands. Did Your Highness hear the news of the wedding in three days and come to offer your blessings?"

Those words pierced his heart like a thorn. Suddenly, his inner energy solidified, and he swung his sword at Mo Sheng.

In the blink of an eye, just as the sword was about to strike, Mo Sheng skillfully dodged it. However, the sword's force was too sharp, and a wound was cut open on her face, from which bright red blood flowed.

Looking at the shattered stone pillar behind her, Mo Sheng secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Ye Lisheng's lips curled into a wicked smile: "Does the Imperial Preceptor like this congratulatory gift?"

Mo Sheng was about to speak when the sword was pressed against her throat.

"Okra is naturally unruly and may disturb your peace, Grand Preceptor. I will take her back immediately!"

He spoke politely, yet his tone left no room for argument.

Mo Sheng was not to be outdone, her eyes resolute: "She is about to become my wife!"

"At least not now!"

"It will be soon!"

Every word was precious, igniting the fuse in his heart.

"Even if I have to raze this place to the ground, I will take her back!"

After saying that, a loud bang was heard, and the snow instantly melted into water.

The two started fighting in the courtyard. Ye Lisheng's eyes were bloodshot, and his moves were ruthless.

Mo Sheng resisted with all her might, but she was far inferior in terms of technique.

He was quickly kicked to the ground by Ye Lisheng, but he got up again in no time.

Being locked up, I was extremely anxious. The total solar eclipse was just around the corner, and all I could think about was Ye Lisheng.

Just as I was thinking about how to escape, a fight suddenly broke out.

"It must be Ye Lisheng who came to save me!"

But then they ran into trouble about how to get out, just as someone unlocked the door.

A familiar face appeared. Murong Kui, looking worried, grabbed my hand and said, "I've finally found you!"

Seeing her anxious look, I suspected she was up to something.

I shoved her hand away and took a few steps back.

She awkwardly withdrew her hand and said pitifully, "I don't know what misunderstanding you have about me. It's fate that we look so alike!"

His words were so moving, tears streaming down his face, his eyes filled with tender affection for one another.

Lingxin scolded, "Our princess is kind-hearted and willing to be your sister. Don't be ungrateful!"

Actually, when I think about it carefully, she didn't do anything to hurt me. It was just a dream. Don't people often say that dreams are the opposite of reality?

She was so honest with me, I shouldn't have been so wary of her.

So he asked, "How did you get in?"

Seeing my pleasant expression and softened tone, a glint flashed in Murong Kui's eyes, which was then replaced by an anxious look: "The prince is fighting with the imperial advisor to distract them, and asked me to come and take you away secretly!"

I panicked when I heard that and ran outside without thinking.

Sure enough, a familiar purple figure appeared not far away. I was about to excitedly shout...

A demonic claw gripped my throat from behind, and instantly all my blood froze, rendering me speechless.

Immediately afterwards, a rag was stuffed into my mouth, and several people dressed as maids held me down firmly.

I glared fiercely at Murong Kui, not understanding the meaning behind her actions.

She smiled radiantly, a hint of smugness in her eyes.

"It seems like you'll never get to the Prince's side if you keep acting like this. What should we do?" She rested her chin on her hands, looking completely innocent.

Suddenly, a golden light flashed in her eyes, as if she had thought of a good idea.

"How about I go instead of you?"

The fighting grew more intense, and I struggled desperately but couldn't break free from their grasp.

I was dragged to a secluded place where they couldn't see me, but I could clearly see everything that happened to them.

Murong Kui rushed to their side anxiously, but before she could stop, the sword energy slashed her arm.

"Okra, are you alright?!"

My heart broke the moment I heard Ye Lisheng call her that.

She shielded Mo Sheng, who was covered in blood, and said tearfully, "Your Highness, please don't make things difficult for us anymore!"

Ye Lisheng looked surprised: "What did you say?"

"I remember telling you that I don't belong to this world, and that there will be a strange phenomenon in the sky in three days. As long as I marry the Imperial Advisor, I can go home!"

The robes fluttered in the wind, resembling a menacing, aggressive pose.

The cold air grew stronger, and people shivered from the cold.

He paused, pulled the sword from the snow, pointed it at Mo Sheng, and said, "Believe me or not, I'll kill him so you can never go back!"

"Then I'll hate you for the rest of my life!" Those words were colder than the daytime, like a needle, a thorn, a pain so intense it was hard to breathe.

Ignoring what she said, Ye Lisheng's eyes flashed with killing intent, and he condensed his sword energy, thrusting it towards Mo Sheng.

Just as he was about to succeed, the air froze. A finely crafted dagger was tucked into his waistband, blood flowing down the hilt and staining the snow beneath him crimson.

He stared in disbelief as the person he loved most plunged a dagger into his body.

He staggered back a few steps, his eyes filled with complex emotions as he tried to confirm who had stabbed him.

Upon seeing her blood-stained hands, he laughed a few times, a laugh tinged with despair and desolation.

"Why?"

I saw her crying uncontrollably, wanting to shout but only able to whimper.

"Sixth Brother!"

Ye Xuanling rushed towards him anxiously, his face filled with disbelief when he saw that it was I who had stabbed him.

He then looked at her with disdain: "I never expected you to be this kind of person!"

Ye Lisheng was taken away by him, and they walked further and further away until the purple figure disappeared from my sight.

Lingxin and the other maids roughly dragged me to Murong Kui.

She gave a cold laugh and shoved me into the snow where Ye Lisheng's blood was staining.

Mo Sheng tried to stop her, but she was silenced by a single sentence: "Don't forget what we agreed on!"

Her eyes grew increasingly fierce as she whispered in my ear, "Isn't it heartbreaking?"

"You're a vicious woman!" At that moment, I wanted nothing more than to kill her.

"If you also like Ye Lisheng, why did you hurt him?"

You'll understand!

A bloodthirsty smile crept across her lips as she toyed with the dagger in her hand.

Suddenly his eyes changed

"ah!"

She plunged the dagger into my hand, and blood gushed out uncontrollably.

I was in so much pain that I was sweating profusely, and I gritted my teeth, wishing I could just kill me!

She slowly whispered in my ear, "The spider lilies have bloomed, he has returned!"

This sentence felt both incredibly familiar and strange, as if I'd heard it somewhere before.
