Just then I heard someone shout from behind, "Stop! Don't run!" It sounded like they were chasing him.
He mouthed a gesture for me to be quiet, then leaped onto the roof like a swallow.
As I examined the necklace with curiosity, it started to sing when I opened it.
I excitedly danced around in the street, my heart pounding with joy: "Could he be my companion?!"
"It must be!"
Just as I was feeling pleasantly surprised, a sudden voice interrupted me: "Twenty embroideries finished?"
I stiffened and turned around. Ye Lisheng was staring at me with a livid face.
"No...no!"
"Did you see a man in black run past here?"
"The man in black? Could it be the boy from earlier? He's my companion; I can't let him capture him!" Thinking this, he shook his head: "I didn't see him!"
