Chapter 37 The park manager is not our enemy, but our savior!

Han Fei narrowed his eyes, trying to get a more comprehensive view.

He saw security guards not far away. They didn't chase the car away, and they managed the crowd, making them line up in an orderly manner.

The owner behind this car is likely the park manager who caused them trouble in the past.

The reason they caused so much trouble and had to call in the urban management department for help was because they saw that the businesses were doing well and wanted to imitate them and take over their positions.

"Old Han, what are you standing there for? Grab your weapons and let's fight!" Old Xu took a rolling pin out of the car.

"With those security guards protecting you, you won't even have a chance to get close to that car."

"Damn it! I knew those security guards were no good! They drove us away just to take over our territory! We're the ones who brought in the crowds here. If our business hadn't been booming, why would they be coming here to buy breakfast!"

"Don't be impulsive, let's observe for a few days."

"Old Han, why have you become such a coward! Are we going to go back to being cowards again? Just because they know someone in the bureau?"

"Stop messing around, let's get out of here first."

"Old Han, are you going to back down again?"

“We need to find a place to sell the steamed buns in the car; now is not the time to hold a grudge.”

Old Xu tried hard to suppress his anger: "Old Han, we'll sell right here!"

"The place is too small. If they crowd together in line, it's easy for them to end up on the road and cause an accident."

"Where should we go? There's not much parking around here, and if we go too far, they won't see us and won't come over. They'll just fall for the fake steamed buns on that car!"

"Let's go to the nearby steamed bun shop first."

"A steamed bun shop???"

Old Xu wondered if he had misheard: "Old Han, we sell steamed buns. What are we doing at the steamed bun shop? Going to buy steamed buns?"

"I'm going to sell steamed buns at a steamed bun shop."

"Old Han, are you out of your mind? We went to a steamed bun shop to sell steamed buns, and they hate us to death. Why would they buy our steamed buns?"

"Is it because the steamed bun business is so good that you've forgotten our original intention?"

"What was the original intention?"

"We're not selling steamed buns, we're selling the recipe!"

Upon hearing this, Old Xu slapped his forehead and grinned foolishly: "I've got it! Now is the best time to sell the formula! The park manager isn't our enemy, he's our savior!"

Han Fei snapped his fingers: "Let's go, let's meet our future business partners."

"Okay!"

...

The breakfast shop owners on the street all had dark faces. They were so happy when they saw the breakfast carts that used to be at the park entrance being driven away by the park security guards and urban management officers that they almost spun around on the spot.

They believed that once the breakfast cart that was stealing their business left, the customers gathered here would be theirs, and their business would flourish in the future.

But before the booming business could materialize, another breakfast cart pulled up at the park entrance!

At first, they thought it was the same breakfast cart and were waiting to see it get kicked out again. But they found that this time no one was chasing them away, and the park security guards were acting as volunteer caretakers.

When someone went to investigate, they discovered that it wasn't the original breakfast cart at all, but a completely new one. This breakfast cart not only imitated the previous one in appearance, but it also sold the same things: meat buns and steamed rolls. This caused unsuspecting customers to line up in front of the cart once again, leaving the breakfast shops on the street still empty.

"Honey, I think we should open the shop somewhere else?"

"The rent has already been paid, and it's not due until May next year. If we suddenly leave, they'll forfeit our deposit!"

“I know all that, but if we keep going like this, we’ll go bankrupt! A while ago, those two old men’s breakfast cart was doing really well, which meant our business was almost zero. We finally got rid of them, but now another cart has appeared at the park entrance, and we still have no business!”

"Let's wait and see. The shops next door haven't closed yet, why are we in such a hurry to leave!"

“I know what you’re waiting for: for customers to realize they’ve been cheated and bought buns from a different breakfast cart, and then come to our street for breakfast. But how long will that take? Until they get tired of the new breakfast cart and come here for a change? We sell buns too! They’ll go to the shops next door to buy bread and egg pancakes, but they won’t come to us for buns!”

"Why? Don't they eat steamed buns anymore?"

"Don't you know your own limitations? We can't compare to the steamed buns sold by those two old men, nor can we compare to the steamed buns sold by this new stall. What makes you think you can compete with them? When people want steamed buns, their first choice is the breakfast cart!"

The boss scratched his head and stomped his feet, in a fit of frustration: "Then we'll just sell something else!"

What are you selling?

"Selling...selling jianbing guozi?"

"Ha! You think you can compare to the food at the restaurant next door?"

"It can't compare."

The proprietress shrugged: "It's just that we can't sell them."

"Then shall we sell...steamed dumplings?"

"Can you compete with that noodle and dumpling shop across the street?"

"Uh, not as good as it."

"You can do it, everything is here, let's go somewhere else," the proprietress advised kindly.

Just then, two uninvited guests arrived at the door: "There's no need to move the place. Just change the recipe, and the boss and his wife's business will be booming on the whole street."

"Are you the old men from that breakfast cart?"

“Yes, that’s us.” Han Fei pointed to the car parked at the door.

"Are you trying to sell steamed buns in front of our shop?" The owner was on the verge of tears: "Gentlemen, you can't be serious! What grudge do I have against you? You won't even give me a way to survive!"

"Don't worry, boss, we don't plan to send any more vehicles out."

"Huh? You've stopped doing business?"

"We do business, but we don't sell steamed buns. We sell recipes. It depends on whether the boss is willing to change his skills."

"You mean you're willing to sell us the recipes for meat buns and scallion and pork rolls?" The proprietress was extremely excited.

"right."

"Your meat buns and scallion and pork rolls are really delicious. To be honest, we've secretly lined up to buy them before. They must be very expensive, right?"

"The recipe for meat buns is 300,000, and the recipe for scallion and pork flower rolls is 100,000."

"So expensive?" the proprietress exclaimed.

The shop owner frowned: "This isn't right! Scallion and pork flower rolls are clearly rarer than meat buns, and much more difficult to make, so why are they so much cheaper?"

"Even if you have the recipe for scallion and pork flower rolls, it's difficult to make them taste the same if you don't buy from me. So, as a long-term business, I can offer you a discounted price of 100,000."

"Do we need to order scallion and pork steamed buns? It's just a little bit of meat and scallions, isn't it?"

"The meat is cured pork. I can give you the recipe, but if you make it yourself, you'll need fruit peels, fruit trees, fruit leaves, pine needles, and other materials, which will make it very expensive. I suggest you buy the cured pork directly from me. As for the scallions, you can buy them at the market, and maybe you can even find organic scallions. My scallions are all grown by myself, and you can also buy them from me."

"I understand. You give me the recipe, but it will take me a lot of time and effort, and I might not even make any money."

Han Fei nodded: "Yes, making braised pork is simple in some ways, but difficult in others; it's hard to get the hang of it."

"Can I just buy the recipe for scallion and pork flower rolls? We've lost a lot of money lately, and all our family's savings are only 120,000 yuan."

"Okay, boss, you're a straightforward person. Let's sign the contract now."

When the shopkeeper saw Han Fei pull out a stack of contracts, he was taken aback: "Old man, you're well-prepared. Aren't you afraid I won't buy it?"

"Impossible. Judging from the business of that truck at the park entrance, you will soon be forced out. That truck will monopolize all the steamed bun business here. You have no way to revive your business except by buying my recipe, unless you quit this business."

"Old man, I have a feeling... you were just waiting for this situation to happen."

Han Fei smiled meaningfully: "Just a coincidence."
