The next day, Andy visited the Peace Orphanage again.
He narrowed his eyes and glanced again at the square-faced man standing next to the dean: "Dean, have you thought it through?"
"May I adopt three children?"
Faced with the aggressive Andy, the dean, who had been flustered and trembling yesterday, straightened his back today, looked directly at him, and shook his head resolutely.
“Mr. Andy, our rule is that you can only adopt one child, no matter your status or how much power you have. You cannot break this rule at Ping An Orphanage.”
"Heh!" Andy chuckled softly.
"Although I don't know who gave you the confidence to reject me, there's never been something I can't get if I want it."
He turned and left.
A casual remark reached the dean's ears: "Dean, be careful when you go out."
The dean gasped for breath, patting his chest as if still shaken: "How did I do? Was I steady?"
The square-faced bodyguard gave her a thumbs up: "Super reliable!"
The dean smiled, revealing a pair of deep dimples.
The square-faced bodyguard couldn't resist reaching out and poking her dimple.
The air suddenly became quiet.
The square-faced bodyguard withdrew his hand: "Sorry."
The dean blushed and said, "No...it's alright."
The square-faced bodyguard scratched his head awkwardly and changed the subject, saying, "It's best not to go out for a while."
The dean lowered his head, his ears burning red.
Andy mentioned last time that the orphanage was going to be demolished, and soon after, someone notified her about the demolition.
This time, before leaving, he told her to be careful, so she really had to be careful!
"I know, I won't go out."
...
Andy returned to the hotel's presidential suite and lay on the sofa drinking heavily.
The foreign man wearing sunglasses returned, took off his suit jacket, casually hung it up, and sat down on the sofa.
"What's wrong? Haven't you adopted the child you've been looking for yet?"
"trouble."
"If there's trouble, just pull it out. Why drink and hurt your health?" The man took the whiskey from his hand.
Andy sat up, dissatisfied: "The children I chose weren't orphans, which is already frustrating enough. I reluctantly selected three that I thought were decent, but the director of that orphanage is like a rock in a latrine, stubborn and inflexible! He's both stinking and unyielding!"
"It's just a rock, we can just move it."
...
When Han Fei arrived at the hospital, he saw the hospital director lying on the bed with his right leg broken and his right arm bandaged. His gaze fell on the square-faced man.
This fellow wasn't in much better shape either, with a broken left leg crossed over his shoulder and a broken left arm strapped to his wrist. He was a perfect match for the hospital director, and they were patients in the next bed.
He was in a worse state than the hospital director; he suffered a severe head injury and was hospitalized for observation, and may have a concussion.
"What happened?"
The square-faced bodyguard said with a bitter expression, "We weren't on guard, and we were ambushed."
He used to work with another bodyguard with a square face, and he was used to working with his partner. Now that he works alone, he is more likely to be careless and get ambushed.
"Sigh, I guess I'm just not getting enough exercise." The square-faced bodyguard lowered his head in shame.
Given how badly he was injured, it's already a miracle he survived. Han Fei couldn't blame him for failing to protect the dean.
"Andy sent people to do it!" the dean exclaimed, his voice trembling. "He had just threatened me when this happened to me!"
She realized how naive she had been. She thought that as long as she didn't go out, nothing would happen, but people came to her door to cause trouble!
The incident started when a deliveryman left a package at a courier station on another street.
To avoid any trouble from Andy's people, the dean chose not to go out and instead called a deliveryman to bring the goods to his door.
The deliveryman said he was too busy and couldn't handle everything.
The dean's tone turned sour, and the two argued for a few moments on the phone.
The dean hung up the phone, thinking he'd just have someone else pick it up for him and didn't want to deal with the courier anymore.
To her surprise, not long after, before she could even ask someone to help her pick up her packages, several more packages arrived at her door.
She recognized the voice of the person in the lead; it was the deliveryman she had spoken to on the phone.
The deliveryman angrily demanded, "Did you report me?!"
The dean was baffled and shrugged, "I didn't."
"Don't play innocent. It was clearly you. After you made that phone call with me, my boss found me and wants to fine me 9,999 yuan!"
"You either pay this money, or this isn't over!"
"Yes, you pay for Brother Chen's money, otherwise this matter isn't over!"
The square-faced bodyguard stood next to the dean and said coldly, "You can call your leader here for a face-to-face confrontation. If she really did report it, I'll pay for it."
"Why are you offering me this money? I didn't do it, that's all. Why are you throwing so much money at me for no reason? Are you trying to suck me up? Wouldn't it be better to use that money to buy milk, cakes, and fried chicken wings for the kids?"
The dean reached out and pulled the square-faced bodyguard back, then stepped forward himself, confronting him, and said, "The newly revised 'Measures for the Administration of the Express Delivery Market' has officially come into effect. Without the user's consent, express packages may not be delivered to smart parcel lockers, express service stations, or other last-mile delivery facilities!"
"Any violation will result in a warning or public reprimand, and may also be subject to a fine of up to 10,000 yuan! In serious cases, a fine of between 10,000 and 30,000 yuan will be imposed!"
“I’ve already let it slide before. How far is it from the orphanage? You always insist on leaving it at a delivery station or locker on another street, saying there are no lockers here and it’s inconvenient! Are you just too lazy to walk that little bit?”
"It's this damn new regulation, do you know how many families we have to deliver to every day?"
"You people, you're always reporting others!"
“I had already been reported multiple times, and had been warned and criticized. You are now the last straw that broke the camel’s back!”
"Because of your report, I was fined. Do you know how hard it is for me to earn this little bit of money?"
"Whether you find it hard to make money or not is none of my business! Everyone finds it hard to make money! If you didn't do your job well and got reported, that's your problem!"
"I want to reiterate that I did not report you. Although I felt you were wrong and wanted to report you, I still showed some compassion and did not report you!"
"It's wrong of you to come here now and falsely accuse me!"
"It was after I made that phone call with you that my boss punished me. You were the one who reported me!"
The two argued until they were red in the face and their necks were thick with anger. The deliveryman couldn't help but slap him, but the square-faced man caught him with quick eyes and hands.
Seeing that a fight had broken out, the deliveryman and his buddies rushed in as well.
What followed was chaotic.
The square-faced bodyguard was astonished by the skills of these people. At that moment, he was certain that this matter was not simple, and these people were definitely not just deliverymen!
Except for that noisy delivery guy, the others are all trained fighters!
To protect the dean, the square-faced bodyguard couldn't use any overly aggressive moves; he had to hold back.
They realized he was protecting the woman, so they all deliberately attacked her, causing the square-faced bodyguard to be attacked on the back of the head while shielding the dean.
"Did Andy arrange this?" Han Fei frowned. "He's really troublesome."
