Han Fei went to the fifth floor, where there was an experimental subject in each room.
Whether human or animal, they are all still at this moment.
Han Fei searched room by room until he reached the last room in the corridor, where he found Mary.
Mary lay in bed, her belly protruding. On the bedside table were cherries, strawberries, oranges…
Although she was being held here, she seemed to be eating and sleeping well, and was not as thin and tired as one might expect.
It seems that Kelly treats useful test subjects quite well.
Han Fei carried Mary away from the perfume company and settled her in a hotel room.
Han Fei returned alone, and the entire process was frozen in time.
He hasn't yet tested the limits of time standing still.
He dared not delay for too long, fearing that it might suddenly become ineffective.
He quickly went down to explore the next level.
Layer by layer...
Below the tenth floor, each floor was filled with huge glass jars.
The glass jar was filled with liquids of various strange colors, including red, blue, and dark purple.
The liquid contained giant fleshy growths, resembling clumps of flesh, in human or animal form, or in other bizarre shapes that were impossible to discern.
On the eighteenth floor of the laboratory, there is a huge swimming pool.
Just as Han Fei thought everything was still and was about to go into the water to investigate, a dark shadow suddenly jumped out of the water and attacked him.
Fast, too fast!
Han Fei was scratched on the chest.
Fortunately, he was wearing several layers of bulletproof vest, and he saw those sharp claws, as if they wanted to rip his heart out.
He backed away repeatedly before he could see clearly what was back in the water, with only its head sticking out.
If this is what Kelly and the others call a mermaid, Han Fei thinks the word "mermaid" probably needs to be redefined.
It was a face resembling a lizard, with long hair floating on the water like seaweed.
A pair of sinister, triangular eyes were fixed on Han Fei, as if it regarded Han Fei as its prey.
Han Fei pulled out his gun and pointed it at it, wondering if the limit of stillness had been reached, or if stillness had no effect on this creature.
The creature seemed to have a fear of guns, perhaps because Kelly had hurt it with a gun before, and it dared not approach Han Fei again.
Han Fei looked at the wound on his chest. Although it was just a scratch, who knew if this guy had a virus? He had to go back to the Dragon Kingdom to get it checked out. This thing also had to be taken back for research.
Han Fei quickly bandaged his wound and carefully observed his surroundings. He was relieved to find that, apart from the "mermaid" moving, the water was still.
It seems that things are still still outside, so he can start moving them.
He approached the pool, and the "mermaid's" eyes were fixed on the gun in his hand, her gaze filled with vigilance.
“You are Kelly’s experimental subject. Although you look like a lizard man, since she calls you a mermaid, you must be able to understand human language.”
“I know you’re afraid of the weapon in my hand and don’t want me to shoot, so come with me.”
A struggling expression appeared on the "mermaid's" face.
This also means that it can indeed understand human speech and has a certain level of intelligence.
"I'll count to three, and if you don't agree, I'll shoot."
"three."
"two."
With a "splash" sound, water gushed out.
Han Fei saw the "mermaid" clearly. It had a lizard face, a body like an ape, and a huge blue carp tail.
Han Fei even suspected that Kelly had created the mutant using genes from lizards, chimpanzees, and fish.
After the "mermaid" landed, two feet extended from her tail.
Looking at it this way, it looks even more like a lizard.
Han Fei had initially worried that it would die if it left the water, but now it seems that he had worried unnecessarily.
It is an amphibian, just like a lizard.
"Hey, let's get to work." Han Fei patted it.
It tilted its head and looked at Han Fei with a pair of bewildered eyes.
Han Fei pointed to the transparent glass jars: "Smash them, or tear them apart with your claws."
The "mermaid" was unwilling to cooperate, so Han Fei thought for a moment, took out a piece of fruit candy that he usually used to coax Xiao Qi from his pocket, and threw it to her.
The "mermaid" opened her mouth to catch it.
Han Fei watched as its eyes gradually widened from vertical pupils to a human-like grin, as if it were imitating a human's smile.
"Want more food?" Han Fei chuckled. "Then you'll have to get back to work."
The "mermaid" swung her enormous tail and began to wreak havoc, smashing all the giant glass jars from the tenth to the eighteenth floor with her sharp claws.
Han Fei then ransacked the floors from one to ten, taking almost everything worthwhile, and even managing to snatch the greedy mutant "Mermaid".
He went directly to the airport, flew a plane, and returned to China.
A snap of fingers.
Old Gu roared at the guard, "I can't go, then you go! Bring Old Han back to me!"
"Hey, I'm back, Lao Gu."
Old Gu was startled and slumped into his chair: "Old Han?"
"It's me."
Old Gu felt that his brain wasn't working properly.
Just a moment ago, he watched Lao Han's live stream; Lao Han was still in Parrot Country.
How could they have appeared in front of me in just a quarter of an hour?
From the Parrot Kingdom to the Dragon Kingdom, riding lightning?
"Old Gu, I brought you a gift."
"Gift……"
Han Fei flung open the door, and there stood the "mermaid" at the entrance.
The "mermaid" was so engrossed in unwrapping a candy with hands resembling gorilla claws that she didn't notice the three strangers staring at her.
Gu Zhan asked in a low voice, "Grandpa Han, is this a lizard fish?"
Han Fei smiled and said, "Kelly calls her a mermaid."
The guard's eyes widened: "Am I blind? This thing is a mermaid? Even a clownfish is a thousand times prettier than this!"
"Old Han, are you injured? I smell blood on you." Old Gu smelled the blood in the air and stared intently at Han Fei.
"I give up, do you have a dog's nose?"
"Let me see the wound."
“I’ve already bandaged it up; it’s just a superficial wound. But I’m not sure if there’s a virus or if I’ll get infected. This guy scratched me.”
"Let's go, let's go to the research institute now." Old Gu grabbed Han Fei's hand and started walking.
Han Fei tried to shake his hand, but failed.
All he could do was toss the "mermaid" a piece of candy and shout, "Hey everyone, hurry up and follow!"
The "mermaid" who received the candy was like a big dog; she actually wagged her tail and obediently followed.
Parrot Country, Perfume Company, Basement Elevator Entrance.
Kelly looked back but saw nothing.
The person next to him asked, "Boss, is there anything unusual?"
"Did you hear the snap?" Kelly asked.
Several researchers around her shook their heads.
"Maybe I just misheard. Let's go see the mermaid first."
When they reached the tenth floor and below, and saw the damaged floors, they all panicked.
"Boss, someone has broken into the basement!"
“No, it’s not a person.” Kelly crouched down and picked up a fish scale. “It’s the one that escaped. Let’s go check the eighteenth floor.”
"Boss! The mermaid is gone!"
"The mermaid escaped and destroyed the underground laboratory!"
Kelly was frantic: "Find it! We have to find it!"
