Chapter 142 Pregnancy is no problem

"Xingyan, you just said your wife protects you, and it's true! You're such a lucky guy!"

When Du Guofeng returned, he sidled up to Sun Xingyan and spoke while glancing at Xia Baozhu, who remained calm.

I was extremely envious.

"What?" Ma Zhaoshi didn't think much of Chen Lu's description of what had just happened. He looked at the smug Sun Xingyan with pity.

"It's over. Sun Xingyan will never escape his wife's grasp for the rest of his life." He shook his head and sighed.

"Why run away? Your wife is so beautiful and has such a good personality." Chen Lu never understood the mentality of Ma Zhaoshi, this womanizer.

"You don't understand. No matter how perfect a woman is, she is not as good as ten imperfect women."

"At first I thought Xingyan was like me. Look at him, playing the piano and dancing outside, he's so popular with young girls. It's a waste to choose just one of his good qualities."

Ma Zhaoshi likes all sorts of different things, because they bring him different feelings.

Lively, cute, bright, alluring, innocent, pitiful, fiery, capable, petite, tall and slender, plump and full-figured... In short, the more types the better, he wants to try them all.

When he can no longer play around, he'll find a virtuous, gentle, considerate, and obedient woman to marry, and then his life will be complete.

What's the point of sticking with one person? After a while, even the most beautiful person gets boring.

"Brother Ma, keep looking for thrills, just don't regret it. I'm on the same page as Brother Sun," Chen Lu snorted.

"What do I regret? If I do regret anything, it's only that I didn't have enough fun." Ma Zhaoshi tossed his hair, and his carefree smile reappeared on his face.

After finishing their meal, Xia Baozhu and Sun Xingyan did not ask Du Guofeng to take them home, choosing instead to walk back, as it was not far from their hotel.

On a winter night in the city, there are few vehicles, the streets seem empty, and the cold wind howls through the streets and alleys.

There were quite a few pedestrians on the road, some still working, and others like them, young couples taking a stroll.

The two men wore brown cylindrical leather hats, black overcoats, thick scarves, and leather gloves to keep warm on their exposed hands.

They were dressed the same, a choice Sun Xingyan made specifically to make their relationship immediately obvious to others.

"Baozhu, don't catch bottles like that next time, it's too dangerous. If the bottle has a broken edge, you'll cut your hand."

Sun Xingyan took Xia Baozhu's hand and put it in his coat pocket, where it was very warm.

"I understand." Xia Baozhu didn't think much of it at the time. She nodded seriously and said, "I won't interfere next time."

Sun Xingyan was speechless. He thought he was going to hear some sweet words of concern for her, but unexpectedly, Xia Baozhu agreed to ignore him.

“Yes.” Sun Xingyan uttered a single word, his words dry and forced.

"Haha." Xia Baozhu saw his expression and leaned against him, laughing loudly.

The warm breath he exhaled escaped through the gaps in his scarf, clearly visible under the streetlights.

Sun Xingyan was stunned for a moment, then laughed, his heart overflowing with love.

He pulled his hand away, suddenly picked up Xia Baozhu, and spun her around three times amidst her gasps before putting her down.

Warm kisses landed on Xia Baozhu's nose and cheek.

"Alright, everyone's watching."

Xia Baozhu blushed and pushed Sun Xingyan away. Even though she came from the future, she was still embarrassed to be kissed in public.

Sun Xingyan gasped for breath, trying to suppress his emotions. The feeling of wanting to merge Xia Baozhu into his body made his whole body tremble as if electrified.

The icy chill calmed his feverish brain.

"Baozhu, I love you so much." He hugged Xia Baozhu tightly and whispered his love in her ear.

Xia Baozhu's face turned even redder, as if she had a fever. She broke free from Sun Xingyan's embrace and walked quickly forward.

Sun Xingyan followed from behind, smiling as he took her left hand. They crossed their hands, one big and one small, and put them in her coat pocket as before.

Under the streetlights, two figures leaning closely together slowly lengthened.

...

Ma Zhaoshi found a senior reproductive specialist for Sun Xingyan and went directly to the clinic without even making an appointment.

After leading Sun Xingyan and the other person into the consultation room, he tactfully withdrew.

The old doctor examined Sun Xingyan first, carefully taking his pulse, and then wrote him a prescription.

"There's nothing wrong with your health, you just need to get a simple check-up."

When it was Xia Baozhu's turn, she sat down and placed her wrist on the pulse pillow.

Sun Xingyan took the report but didn't leave. Although he didn't care whether Xia Baozhu could give birth, he was afraid that she would be upset if she heard a bad diagnosis.

However, it's better to expose such a thorn as soon as possible than to keep it buried in your heart.

"You have congenital deficiency, kidney yang deficiency, and some symptoms of uterine cold. Let's get a thorough examination first." The old doctor wrote out two forms and handed them to Xia Baozhu.

Sun Xingyan accompanied Xia Baozhu to her examination first before going to get his own.

Xia Baozhu stood in the corridor waiting for Sun Xingyan.

More than half an hour later, Sun Xingyan came out, his face a little red.

Xia Baozhu couldn't help but laugh when she saw his somewhat embarrassed expression.

It's rare to see Sun Xingyan feel embarrassed.

The examination results were as the old doctor had predicted. He prescribed some medication for Xia Baozhu and told her to take it on time.

"Relax, don't be nervous, there's nothing wrong with being pregnant," the senior doctor said with a smile.

"Thank you, doctor." Sun Xingyan smiled broadly.

After they went outside, Ma Zhaoshi saw Sun Xingyan holding a large bag of medicine and asked in surprise, "Xingyan, is all of this for you?"

"Yes, the doctor said I can have a child, but I still need to take care of myself for optimal health." As he spoke, Sun Xingyan opened the car door and let Xia Baozhu get in first.

"Oh, that's fine then."

Seeing Sun Xingyan's beaming face, Ma Zhaoshi realized that he didn't seem to have any problems, but rather that something great had happened.

He didn't understand why he needed to take so much medicine if there was no problem.

As Xia Baozhu listened to Sun Xingyan's explanation, a warm feeling welled up inside her, making her feel relaxed.

This relaxation allowed her to completely accept Sun Xingyan; she no longer thought about the plot of the book, nor worried about future changes.

Enjoy the present moment and don't worry unnecessarily.

"Oh, right, Chen Lu's girlfriend just called and asked Xia to come over and give it a try. It's at Mingshan Park."

As Ma Zhaoshi started the car, he said this.

“Then let’s go. Thank you for your help, Brother Ma,” Xia Baozhu replied.

This was the first time Ma Zhaoshi had heard Xia Baozhu call him Brother Ma. He was startled; the way she called him Brother Ma sounded so nice.

He quickly woke up again, damn it, he almost had some inappropriate thoughts.

"Sister-in-law, you're too kind. How many more days are you staying here?" Ma Zhaoshi smiled radiantly.

"If there's nothing else to do, I'll show you around. You've come all this way, and you haven't even had a proper chance to enjoy yourself yet."

"It depends on Baozhu's thoughts. We'll stay as long as she wants," Sun Xingyan said, unintentionally showing off their affection.
