Chapter 152 Pursuit

Seeing Xia Baozhu's determination, Sun Xingyan kissed her forehead and pondered for a moment.

"Then we'll get off at the next stop, but they might be faster than us. Should we prepare some things?"

He looked around and said, "Take those apples on the table and throw them like stones."

He was quite accurate at throwing stones, but he didn't have Xia Baozhu's strength to knock her unconscious. All he could do was search for people and bags in the crowd.

Fortunately, the next stop is a small city, so there shouldn't be too many people getting off.

He felt no shame at all that his wife was stronger than him; on the contrary, he was extremely proud.

He was proud of his wife's strength on one hand, and proud of his own charm on the other; otherwise, why would such a capable wife have fallen for him?

"Okay, let's pick up some more pebbles after we get off the bus," Xia Baozhu said as she put away the apples.

These apples were brought by the newlyweds, and they were taken out while everyone in the carriage was chatting happily.

Xia Baozhu had no feelings for them before, but she became somewhat disgusted after they ran away.

As for pebbles, there's no shortage of them on the train tracks; Xia Baozhu could easily use them as bullets.

Hopefully, those thieves will wear their hats properly and not suffer severe concussions from her excessive strength.

The two packed their things and waited at the exit following the voice announcement.

During this time, Xia Baozhu saw the newlywed couple run back and ask them if they had seen the woman.

Sun Xingyan said no, but when the two heard that they were getting off at the next stop, they hesitated for a moment and decided to get off together.

The expenses in Haicheng would definitely be high, and they only had enough money for the return trip. They might as well take a gamble and get off the bus to try and find that woman.

The train slowly came to a stop at Fengcheng Railway Station.

The car door opened, and Xia Baozhu was the first to get out, followed by Sun Xingyan.

As agreed, the two ran towards the front of the car, and the other towards the back.

Xia Baozhu weaved through the crowd of people getting off the bus, quickly scanning their faces and the bags in their hands.

Upon reaching the back of the train, she ignored the staff's attempts to stop her, jumped off the platform, and grabbed two handfuls of pebbles, stuffing them into her pocket.

"Don't run! Catch the thief!" The shrill cry came from the newlywed wife; she was the one who had found the thief first.

Xia Baozhu saw the fair-skinned girl who had changed her coat. Beside her were two men with ordinary looks and fierce eyes; they were probably her only remaining accomplices.

The passengers who got off the bus didn't dare to cause trouble and quickened their pace to leave.

When Xia Baozhu saw Sun Xingyan running past, she quickened her pace.

With the pebble in her hand ready to be thrown, chaos broke out at the ticket checkpoint at the exit ahead due to three pickpockets forcefully cutting in line, but this also gave Xia Baozhu an opportunity.

She threw three pebbles in succession. One fell down, while the other two, due to their constant shifting positions, only managed to hit the brim of her hat.

Seeing their companion fall, they only had time to grab the bag from his body before fleeing even faster. A ticket inspector was pushed to the ground while trying to stop them.

Sun Xingyan and the newlywed man rushed out after him.

When Xia Baozhu got off the train, she saw Sun Xingyan and a man already fighting.

The newlywed man chased after the girl, shouting "Stop thief!" as he ran. Some kind people joined him in the chase, and they soon disappeared from sight.

Xia Baozhu went up and dealt with the man who was fighting with Sun Xingyan, and picked up the large bag from his body.

They found her bag inside, but the porcelain vase was missing.

Xia Baozhu squatted down, grabbed the man's chin, and only when she saw pain on his face did she ask in a cold voice, "Where are the things in this bag?"

This was the first time Sun Xingyan had seen Xia Baozhu so angry, and also the first time he had seen her tough and ruthless side.

He stood to the side, blocking some people's view, his gaze equally cold.

The thief's face was distorted by Xia Baozhu's pinching, and he desperately grabbed her hands, trying to break free from her grip.

He kicked his legs hard against the ground, using all his strength.

He tried to break free by turning over, but to no avail. His face quickly turned bright red, as if it had been scorched by fire.

His eyes were filled with terror and pleading as he tried to open his mouth, but he couldn't utter a word.

Seeing that the time was right, Xia Baozhu released her grip and said calmly, "Now, where are our things?"

"I... I was taken by Xiao Hong," the man said in a hoarse, trembling voice.

"How many of you are still here? Where are you gathering? Don't worry, I just want our own things back, I don't care about the rest," Xia Baozhu continued to ask.

"There were twelve of us in total, all on the bus. Five of us were arrested, and three got off at this stop."

The man swallowed hard, enduring the burning pain in his chin, and spoke haltingly.

Where did Little Red go?

"I don't know. Without our protection within the train station area, she probably won't be able to escape. This is Hong's territory."

"Then you take us to find Hong the soldier."

Xia Baozhu stood up and kicked the man, injuring his leg, to prevent him from escaping.

"Hey, are you looking for my brother Hong?" asked a thin young man wearing a cotton hat who was watching from a distance.

“Yes.” Xia Baozhu said as she walked towards the young man, smiling as she asked, “Where is your Brother Hong?”

"Come with me." The thin young man sized up Xia Baozhu's face and figure.

You can't tell much from her face, except that she has pretty eyes, a good figure, and her attire is obviously that of a wealthy person.

We've struck it rich!

Although he had seen Xia Baozhu's actions just now, he still didn't think she was that capable.

Little did they know that leading her in was like leading a wolf into a sheepfold.

"Wife, isn't it dangerous to go directly there?" Sun Xingyan asked Xia Baozhu, pulling the thief along behind him.

When they were outside, he would never call Xia Baozhu by her name, in order to reduce the risk of danger.

“We’ll give them money to help us find the person; there shouldn’t be any danger.”

Xia Baozhu spoke lightly, but in her heart she was also wondering if this would be dangerous for Sun Xingyan.

As long as the other side doesn't have a gun, everything will be fine.

Even if you have a gun, you can't just open fire right away, unless the other party is a desperate thug.

"How about I go in by myself later and you wait for me outside?" Xia Baozhu suggested.

“No, if you go in, I can’t stay outside.” Sun Xingyan reacted strongly. “Besides, I have more experience dealing with this kind of person.”

People with high combat skills like to solve problems with force. People like Sun Xingyan, who often travel outside, have average physical fitness and cannot be dealt with using this method.

All we could rely on were our words and our brains; temporary compromises and concessions were inevitable at the time.

"Okay, let's see what kind of person this Brother Hong is first." Xia Baozhu nodded in agreement.

They followed the thin young man to the hotel opposite the train station.

Seeing that it was a place like this, Xia Baozhu felt half relieved; the chances of the other side daring to fire directly were very small.
