Chapter 18 Don't Even Think About Divorcing Me

"Why are you hiding again? Xia Zhaodi, you weren't like this before." Leng Minghui grasped the hand that was pressing against his chest.

“I was blind before.” Xia Baozhu felt uncomfortable all over when he held her hand. She shook off Leng Minghui’s hand and said she would wash her hands properly later.

"Xia Zhaodi! Can't you speak properly?" Leng Minghui was getting impatient as he desperately wanted to get closer to her but was pushed away again.

"I can't talk to you properly, I'm going to work, get out of my way!"

Xia Baozhu rolled her eyes, quickly grabbed her things and went out the door, putting on a mask, scarf and gloves as she went.

She'll go to Professor Deng's house to wash up later.

Seeing Xia Baozhu avoiding him like the plague, Leng Minghui felt a pang of sadness, but he quickly rallied.

He wanted to take her to Shenzhen and take her with him wherever he went. He refused to believe that her heart wouldn't come back.

"How did the talks go? What time are you going to get a divorce?" Wang Aixiang asked as soon as she saw Xia Baozhu leave.

"Mom, I've thought about it, and I've decided not to get a divorce for now."

Leng Minghui thought about the scene of Xia Baozhu rolling her eyes as she left, which was so charming that it made him feel restless.

"What? You won't get a divorce! You saw how badly she beat your brother last night."

Wang Aixiang was furious. She had been hoping her son would come back so that they could get a divorce, but he didn't want to. That vixen must have drugged Minghui.

"Mom, it was clearly Mingguang who started it. Zhaodi said this wasn't the first time he'd laid a hand on someone. Does he even know that Zhaodi is his sister-in-law? Does he respect me, his older brother?"

Leng Minghui planned to appease his mother first, hoping she would temper her temper and stop targeting his wife.

Wang Aixiang wanted to say that Xia Zhaodi deserved to be beaten, but then she remembered that her son was now siding with that vixen, so she pulled out her trump card.

"She's been married into the family for five years, and you don't even have a child. You're almost thirty, aren't you worried?"

"I'll go back in a couple of days and take her to see a doctor there."

Leng Minghui certainly wanted a son, but he also wanted Xia Zhaodi as she was now. Just thinking about her every frown and tantrum made his heart burn with desire.

He even considered that if Xia Zhaodi really couldn't get pregnant, he would find someone outside who could have children and bring the child back for her to raise.

In the past few years, he has seen too many cases of keeping mistresses, especially foreign businessmen who come to invest. Some of them don't have their families with them and keep seven or eight mistresses.

He's already considered extremely virtuous; at most, he'll interact with hostesses when he goes out for drinks.

"You still want to take her out? Who's going to do all the housework? You're dumping it all on me, aren't you afraid of working me to death!"

"Don't worry, Mom, I'll hire a nanny to take care of you. You just need to play with the baby. If you get tired of taking care of the baby, I'll hire another one for you. I'll pay for it. It definitely won't tire you out."

Leng Minghui put his hand on his mother's shoulder and successfully appeased Wang Aixiang with money.

"Just give me the money, I'll find it myself."

Wang Aixiang did the math in her head: two nannies would cost at least 300 yuan a month, which would amount to 3,600 yuan a year.

It would be such a waste to throw this money away; it would be better to save it for her.

“Okay, Mom, I’ll give you four hundred yuan every month so you can hire a nanny.”

Leng Minghui knew his mother was stingy and that she probably wouldn't spend the money, but he was willing to spend it if it would stop his mother from bringing up Xia Zhaodi. It was, after all, a filial gift that he should give her.

When Wang Aixiang heard that it would be 400 yuan a month, which was much more than she had expected, she immediately became happy.

Since our son doesn't want a divorce, it's good to take that bitch away so she won't be an eyesore here every day.

"But you must let me hold another grandson before I turn thirty," Wang Aixiang stated her bottom line.

"Don't worry about that, Mom."

Leng Minghui went out and asked around about Xia Baozhu's workplace. Money talks, and he quickly found out about the teachers' college. He also learned from the gatekeeper where Professor Deng lived.

When Xia Baozhu took Professor Deng for a walk around the school, she saw Leng Minghui chatting with Sun Xingyan. Sure enough, Sun Xingyan was Leng Minghui's business partner.

The two were engrossed in their conversation, but Xia Baozhu, not wanting to get entangled with Leng Minghui, changed her route.

"What's wrong?" Professor Deng saw Sun Xingyan and wanted to say a few words, but Xia Baozhu turned away instead.

“The one talking to Xiao Sun is my boyfriend. He might be here to see me, but I don’t want to see him.” Xia Baozhu trusted Professor Deng and told him about Leng Minghui’s return early that morning.

"Since he was able to find his way here, he might even be able to find his way home. We might as well meet him directly."

During this time, Professor Deng also learned about Xia Baozhu's situation in her husband's family and did not have a good impression of Leng Minghui.

But now it seems that this man is at least handsome and dashing, much better than Sun Xingyan next to him who is slacking off and doesn't stand properly.

He dressed fashionably and elegantly, wearing high-end brands from head to toe, a stark contrast to his wife's dowdy attire.

I don't understand why he looks down on Xia so much. Can't he see Xia's good points? Or has he just grown tired of her after a while?

"Professor Deng, Xia, you two are out strolling in this freezing weather again. Aren't you afraid of catching a cold?"

Sun Xingyan was facing Xia Baozhu's direction and spotted them immediately.

"Zhao Di, you're here!" Leng Minghui turned around when he heard the address and saw Xia Baozhu's deep red scarf and her shimmering, indifferent peach blossom eyes.

He never expected to run into her here; he was just about to go find her.

"Hmm." Xia Baozhu responded indifferently. She was annoyed that Leng Minghui was not doing his job and came to find her instead.
