"Sister Xia, make me another chicken leg tomorrow," San Gou shouted to Xia Baozhu, who was directing the workers to carry the cabinet.
"OK."
During the week or so of renovation, people passed by every day, curiously peering inside.
A few thugs swaggered in to take things, and Sun Xingyan happened to run into them.
He shouted to the neighbor, and a bunch of people came running out, some with knives and others with iron bars, scaring the thugs so much that they ran away as fast as they could.
It has to be said that the male supporting character in this book is really useful. Xia Baozhu had no other way to express her gratitude, so she used chicken legs as a reward, which made Sun Xingyan almost vomit.
Even the most delicious food can't be eaten every day, right? Who could stand that? It just goes to the glutton San Gou.
"Brother Sun, Sister Xia's shop is really beautifully decorated. What do you think about me getting one too? My house is just sitting idle anyway."
What do you plan to do with your shop?
"Fried chicken for sale!" San Gou drooled.
Can you?
"It's just a matter of sprinkling some seasoning powder and frying it in a pan."
"Then go back and try it. If it's good, I'll definitely support you." Sun Xingyan grinned and silently mocked.
"Brother Sun, I went next door to look for you. They said you were with Sister Xia. It's true."
A pretty young woman in a pink down jacket pushed open the door and appeared in the store. She looked her up and down and showed a surprised expression. "I didn't expect this place to be so nice."
“Zhenzhen, look at Brother Sun’s masterpiece.” San Gou pointed to the poster on the wall with a boastful expression.
"What is this?" Guo Zhenzhen looked at the fried chicken on the plate, feeling that the aroma was almost overflowing from the screen.
This poster is really well done; it's clean, concise, and highlights the theme.
"These were taken by Brother Sun, and here are some others too. What do you think?"
"Brother Sun, you're really amazing. You could make a movie with this level of skill."
Guo Zhenzhen dreamed of becoming a star, but she didn't get into film school and could only find a temporary job to do for now. However, she was very sensitive to beauty.
"It's just so-so." Although he said that, Sun Xingyan sat on the grass-green bench, smiling as he looked up at his work, quite pleased with himself.
"Brother Sun, could you take some artistic photos of me?" Guo Zhenzhen sat down on the bench, leaned close to Sun Xingyan, and said with a radiant smile.
"Artistic photos, the kind you see on calendars?" San Gou immediately thought of the scantily clad covers of calendars and third-rate magazines under his bed, and a lustful expression appeared on his face.
"Get out of my way right now!" Guo Zhenzhen's eyebrows shot up as she angrily yelled at San Gou, then turned to Sun Xingyan and said gently, "It's a fashion art photo. I have a few really nice outfits. What do you think, Brother Sun?"
Guo Zhenzhen did not give up her dream of becoming a star; she wanted to start as a print model.
Once the photos were taken, she sent them to a fashion magazine.
"Sure, where should we film it?"
"How is this place? It's clean and beautiful." Sun Zhenzhen really liked the store's decor; it was very comfortable.
“This is a fried chicken shop, not a photo studio,” Sun Xingyan laughed.
“I think this place is great. Look how the sunlight shines through the glass door. Doesn’t it feel like a scene from a movie?” Guo Zhenzhen has a direct sense of beauty.
Under her guidance, Sun Xingyan suddenly developed more of the artistic sensibilities of a young intellectual.
When Xia Baozhu came out, Sun Xingyan said, "Xia Zhaodi, may I take a few photos of her and Guo Zhenzhen in your shop?"
"Sure," Xia Baozhu replied readily.
Guo Zhenzhen immediately said that she would bring some clothes over tomorrow for the photoshoot.
Xia Baozhu still agreed. Since the business hadn't opened yet, she figured she might as well use it; it would also be a good opportunity to advertise.
Her second payment for the manuscript arrived today. This time, she asked Sun Xingyan to take the story to Professor Deng, and also brought her homemade spicy boneless chicken feet.
Her boneless chicken feet aren't completely boneless; she only removed the leg bones because it was too much trouble.
"How much is this?" San Gou looked at the chicken feet that were glistening with an enticing sheen, and his mouth started watering again.
"One yuan and eighty cents per pound."
"More expensive than meat!" Guo Zhenzhen exclaimed.
Indeed, raw chicken feet are very cheap because they don't have much meat; they cost only 40 cents a pound.
However, the materials are not cheap, and the process is time-consuming. Xia Baozhu doesn't want to make too many, so the price is higher if necessary.
Sun Xingyan shook the lunchbox. The chicken feet inside were firm and elastic. You could smell their color, aroma and flavor as they bounced, and you could even imagine what it would feel like to chew them.
"Is there any more? Give me a pound."
"There are a few more, I didn't make too many." Xia Baozhu took a plate from the kitchen cabinet.
She tried making three jin (1.5 kg) of it, and couldn't resist eating a whole plate herself.
"Can I have some, Sister Xia?" Guo Zhenzhen couldn't help but ask, looking at the chicken feet.
Although they didn't know what Sister Xia looked like, since San Gou and the others called her Sister Xia, it must be correct.
"Here's a dollar, I'll take it." Sun Xingyan generously tossed out the money and took the plate away without any hesitation.
"Really, Brother Sun, give me one!" Guo Zhenzhen pleaded, making San Gou, who was waiting to get a free meal, get goosebumps.
