Chapter 91 in the magazine

Just as the passengers were trembling with fear, four more people stepped out of the car, each holding a knife, which made most of them even more desperate.

"Hurry up and hand over your valuables. Don't make me search you, or I'll stab you first."

The burly, dark-skinned man's sharp gaze swept over the passengers in the carriage. Anyone who met his eyes immediately lowered their head, afraid of being called out.

Finally, he glanced down at Xia Baozhu with a wicked smile, licked his lips, and then went to the front.

Good things should be enjoyed after everything is done; there's no rush.

Xia Baozhu felt that she was quite lucky today. She didn't have to push the cart and even encountered such a group of people, so she was able to do something righteous again.

When one of the men reached out his hand to Xia Baozhu, she gripped her handbag tightly.

"Hurry up and hand over the money, or this knife in my hand won't be so sharp!" the man said, brandishing the knife in his hand in a sleazy tone.

Xia Baozhu picked up her bag and slapped it on the man's head with lightning speed, also taking his knife with her.

The man fell to the ground without a sound, his fate unknown.

The passengers behind Xia Baozhu, who looked like quails, stared at her with utter shock.

They never expected this seemingly frail woman to be so brave, which filled them with admiration, pity, and regret.

They thought Xia Baozhu had just hit someone by chance, but there were still four robbers left.

They guessed that her fate would be terrible, that she would be tortured beyond recognition by the robbers, or even die.

Some passengers clenched their fists, wanting to stand up, but lowered their heads when they saw the four gleaming sharp knives.

"Gangzi!"

Two of the other robbers stood still, while the other two walked over together.

Judging from their practiced movements and calm expressions, they must have been involved in numerous robberies.

"You bitch, I was going to let you go, but I didn't expect you to be so ungrateful!"

The burly, dark-skinned man roared furiously, his ferocious aura seeming to devour Xia Baozhu whole.

Clearly, they all agreed that what happened just now was merely a coincidence.

Some particularly timid passengers had already closed their eyes tightly and covered their faces with their hands.

Xia Baozhu stepped on Gangzi, stood in the middle of the aisle, braced her hands on the backs of the seats on either side, and lightly kicked out, sending the burly man and the man behind him flying to the driver's seat.

At this moment, the two robbers behind her also ran over, their knives aimed at Xia Baozhu's back.

The people in the car screamed in shock at the dramatic scene.

"careful!"

Xia Baozhu rushed forward without looking, then turned around and used her bag to block the knife, kicking the robber in the chest.

Like his accomplices in front of him, the person behind him was also kicked into the back seat and then rolled to the ground.

"They've all fallen! Quick, go and subdue them!"

While most passengers stared in disbelief, someone suddenly shouted out.

At this moment, the people who had been robbed inside the bus sprang into action, rushing forward while the four people were still on the ground, including the ticket seller and the driver.

Some were disarmed, some were slapped, some were stomped on the legs; the carriage was filled with the angry curses, howls, and shouts of people demanding money.

"I'll beat you to death, you bastard! I'll beat you to death!"

"This is my money!"

"Give me back my watch!"

Don't take things that don't belong to you!

Xia Baozhu sat back in her original seat, a smile on her face as if she had done a good deed.

Because everyone's money and belongings were mixed together, passengers searching for their money were on the verge of a fight.

The ticket seller stood on the seat and gestured for the driver to honk the horn to quiet the passengers.

"Put everything here with me, tie those five up first! Then come here to register the money and belongings that were stolen. Nobody say a word, or we'll all be taken to the police station!"

The ticket seller's words had a deterrent effect, and the passengers contributed their own belts and ropes, quickly tying the kidnappers up tightly.

Getting my money back went smoothly afterward.

The five robbers were taken to the police station just inside the Mingcheng area.

As they got off the bus, everyone thanked Xia Baozhu again, and some even left their phone numbers and home addresses so they could contact him if needed.

Xia Baozhu got off the car feeling refreshed and full of praise; even the unpleasant mixed smell in the car seemed to have disappeared.

"Next time you ride this bus, I'll give you a free ride," the ticket seller shouted, waving to Xia Baozhu as she left.

"Then thank you in advance," Xia Baozhu said with a smile, stopping in her tracks.

Xia Baozhu took a taxi and stayed at the same hotel as last time.

It had just rained in Mingcheng, and there was a lot of water on the ground. Vehicles sped by, splashing water everywhere.

Xia Baozhu looked at the still gloomy sky; it seemed the rain was going to continue.

Upon arriving at the hotel, Xia Baozhu first took a shower, changed into a dress, and washed the short-sleeved shirt and trousers she had taken off earlier, hanging them in front of the window.

Touching her still slightly damp curly hair, Xia Baozhu decided to go see Lao Yang again in the afternoon.

After lunch, Xia Baozhu called Lao Yang to tell him that she had arrived.

The rain intensified again, so Xia Baozhu borrowed an umbrella from the hotel, grabbed her bag, and waded through the puddles to go to the company.

She had taken off her socks beforehand, revealing her fair, pearly-white skin.

After being soaked by the rain, their exposed calves and feet became even whiter and shinier.

Old Yang waited at the gate with an umbrella, watching Xia Baozhu walk towards him in a white sleeveless dress, like a graceful white lotus flower. He could hardly take his eyes off her.

"Oh my, Xia, you've become even more beautiful in just a few days!"

Before Lao Yang could speak, Huang Guangnian's loud voice came from behind, along with the sound of footsteps pattering in the rain.

This shows just how anxious Section Chief Huang was.

When he met Xia Baozhu, Lao Yang couldn't even get a word in edgewise except to greet her, as Huang Guangnian did all the talking.

"Thanks to you, Xia, our company's sales have increased several times over, and our advertising department even received praise from head office..."

Xia Baozhu was praised by Huang Guangnian as if all the credit belonged to her alone, while the photographer's contribution was not mentioned at all.

“I also sent your photos to Popular Fashion magazine, and the editor called me and said they wanted to use them for several consecutive issues, urging us to take photos of autumn clothing as soon as possible.”

“I just received the magazine yesterday. Xia, take a look in a bit. There are twenty photos of you alone, and three pages only have three photos. One whole page has one photo, and there’s not even any text.”

"Also, I suggested to the company that you shoot a short advertising video." Huang Guangnian lowered his voice, trying to curry favor with Xia Baozhu.
