Chapter 12: Distress (2/2)

I just walked up and found a place with fewer people.

Mushrooms don't grow in large groups; you find them as you walk.

Tang Wan had been taught by Luo Ying and Cuicui this morning about a lot of edible mushrooms. Maybe it was because she was lucky, or maybe it was because she found a good place, but she actually found quite a few.

There were not many mushrooms left after they were dried, so Tang Wan tried her best to pick as many as possible for her father. It was difficult to find such food in Beijing.

Perhaps it was because Tang Wan was so focused on picking mushrooms that it was almost dark when she was at a loss as to what to do. Everything around her had basically become quiet, and the occasional sound could only be heard from someone, but she didn't know how far away it was.

A gust of wind blew by, and Tang Wan felt a little cold. She looked up and found that the sun had already set.

She walked to the backpack beside the tree and put the mushrooms she had just picked into it. The backpack was almost full, and she had a good harvest.

Tang Wan moved her stiff shoulders and prepared to put on the backpack and go home.

At this moment, a rapid and loud sound suddenly sounded behind her. The noise was so loud that people had no time to react. Tang Wan subconsciously dodged to the side.

Despite this, Tang Wan was still carried away by the force, losing her balance and falling forward. Her hand hit the stone, causing her excruciating pain, but Tang Wan had no time to care about it.

There was a loud thud as a heavy object hit the tree, followed by the sound of the tree falling. Tang Wan looked at the wild boar hitting the tree and didn't know how to react.

The wild boar bumped into a tree trunk, shook its head on the spot, turned around and came towards Tang Wan again.

Tang Wan looked at the tree that was broken by the wild boar, then looked at her own small body, and ran away.

How could a human possibly outrun a wild boar? Tang Wan knew that this was impossible, so she ran around the tree.

Although the wild boar was big, it was not flexible enough. Tang Wan ran around the tree and it didn't react immediately.

This was not a solution. Tang Wan was anxious. She would be exhausted if she ran like this for a short time. If she was a little slower, she would be hit by the wild boar. Just now, she just grazed it, but now half of her body was in pain.

She can't climb trees either!

We have to find a way.

Tang Wan felt a little overwhelmed before she had even gone around twice, but the wild boar was still staring at her hungrily.

Tang Wan hid in a panic. Although she shouted for help, she felt a little desperate because there was no one around.

Shouldn’t the wild boar be the heroine’s golden finger? How could she run into it when she didn’t even provoke it!

There are footprints in this place, which means that someone has been here. How did they encounter a wild boar?

Tang Wan was filled with regret, but the wild boar was still full of energy. Perhaps because Tang Wan had shaken it a few more times, it knew how to distinguish and was no longer fooled by Tang Wan's fake moves.

He took advantage of Tang Wan's slowing down and rushed towards her.

Tang Wan'er had no way to avoid it, but she still tried her best to move to the side. Knowing that she could not escape, she tried her best to protect her head.

Just when Tang Wan felt the wild boar approaching, a hand wrapped around her waist and pulled her aside, and then there was a bang.

When Tang Wan landed and looked back, the wild boar had already fallen to the ground.

There was a steel fork and a machete on the side of the neck. The machete was almost completely cut into the wild boar's neck, and bright red blood flowed all over the ground.

Tang Wan stood there in a daze, feeling as if her body was not her own. It took her a long time to realize that she was being rescued.

After a long while, she finally shifted her gaze to the two people standing next to her.

Tang Wan didn't recognize the man holding the steel fork. He had a round, fat face. When Tang Wan's gaze shifted to him, he grinned at her.

Little did he know that his face was sprayed with wild boar blood, and his smile was really scary.
