Chapter 16 Being a middleman
After the three people came back from the town, Dongzi went into the east room and fell asleep.
During dinner, Grandma Qi didn't let anyone wake him up, and Dongzi didn't wake up until they were almost done eating.
After sleeping for a few hours, Dongzi's complexion looked much better.
Seeing him get up, Grandma Qi brought out the food she had prepared for him, including a few Qi flour buns, the braised pork she had made, the pickled fish she had prepared earlier, and some pickled vegetables that she had prepared.
Dongzi chatted with Grandma Yi for a few minutes at the beginning, but when the meal started, he was like a mad dog that had been hungry for several days. He devoured several steamed buns in no time, and there was not even a drop of oil left on the plate.
After finishing his meal, he slumped down on a chair and let out a long sigh: "Finally, I get to eat the meal that grandma cooked. This is the real thing!"
Dongzi covered his stomach with one hand and sighed.
His appearance made Grandma Qi feel very distressed: "Are you full? There is more here. Grandma Qi will give you some more. You are so hungry, it's pitiful."
"No more, grandma. I'm full. If I eat any more, my stomach will explode." Dongzi waved his hands repeatedly when he heard what grandma said.
As a result, because he was too full, he raised his hand and felt a stomachache, so he quickly put his hand down and covered his stomach.
His behavior made the other people laugh, and Dongzi himself laughed at himself for being so useless.
At this moment, the yard was filled with laughter and joy.
Now that Dongzi has arrived, Tang Wan also thinks of Luo Ying.
Tang Wan has been working with Luo Ying a lot recently. The girl has become more and more anxious and even wanted to tell her family directly that she wanted to marry Dongzi. Fortunately, she was persuaded by Tang Wan.
If Luo Ying were to speak up herself, given her temper, she would probably start arguing with her family in no time, and Dongzi's preparations would be wasted.
Perhaps because Tang Wan frequently looked at Dongzi, Qin Zheng also understood what Tang Wan wanted to do.
When Grandma Yi went to clean the kitchen, she brought Dongzi to her.
Dongzi originally went to see the dried fruits that Grandma Qi was drying in the yard, but when he heard Qin Zheng calling him, he immediately went over.
"What's wrong, Brother Zheng?" Dongzi was in high spirits after having a full meal. He looked at Qin Zheng and then at Tang Wan who was standing next to him.
"Tang Zhiqing has something to discuss with you." Qin Zheng indicated that it was Tang Wan who wanted to talk to him.
"What's wrong, Tang Zhiqing? If you need any help, just tell me directly. I will definitely help you in any way I can." Dongzi patted his chest.
"I do have something I need your help with." Tang Wan smiled as she looked at him. "I'd like you to deliver something to Luo Ying in a couple of days. Would you be willing to help me?"
"W-what." Dongzi's eyes widened and he reached out to pick at his ears. "Say it again, did I hear it wrong?"
Tang Wan repeated it again.
This time Tang Wan spoke slowly, but before she could finish, she was interrupted by Dongzi: "Help, of course, you have to help, you must help."
"Pooh, pooh, pooh, what do you mean by help or not? You are helping me! Tang Zhiqing, you will be my sister from now on, my real sister." Dongzi was so excited that he was a little incoherent.
Dongzi wanted to jump up and down twice, his eyes full of surprise.
Tang Wan asked him to help, but what could he do without a reason? This was just creating another opportunity for him.
After Dongzi's excitement subsided a bit, he calmed down a bit and asked hesitantly, "Then is Luo Ying willing to see me?"
"Don't worry, I will tell her. Luo Ying said you saved her and she has always wanted to thank you." Tang Wan met his gaze.
The determination in Tang Wan's eyes gave Dongzi some courage, and he muttered to himself: "Then I have to sort out my assets in the next few days to see if she is satisfied..."
