Chapter 63: Look After (1/2)

Chapter 63: Look after

Qin Zheng's head was covered with beads of sweat. His back was injured and he was now lying on the bed.

Hearing Grandma Bai's question, Qin Zheng raised his eyes and said, "It's just a small matter. It hasn't been dealt with yet. Don't worry, Grandma."

"I'm not worried about this!" Grandma was a little anxious and threw the towel in her hand away.

As luck would have it, the towel fell on the wound that Qin Zheng was bandaging. Qin Zheng, who had been silent the whole time, groaned.

As expected, I saw an expression of worry and regret on Grandma Bai's face.

Dongzi on the side knelt on the ground without saying a word.

"You kid, what are you doing?" Dongzi knelt down in front of Grandma Bai, which scared her and she hurriedly reached out to help him.

"Brother Zheng's injury is all due to me. Grandma, if you want to blame someone, blame me." Dongzi said as he fell to the ground with a bang. Just hearing the sound made him feel painful.

"What are you doing? Get up!" Grandma Bai stepped forward and stopped Dongzi from knocking his head any further.

"It's my fault for this. If they hadn't found out about the last incident when I went out of town, they wouldn't have come to cause trouble. It's fine if they wanted to cause trouble, but it's not like Brother Zheng can't beat them. It's just that Brother Zheng took the knife for me, that's why he became like this." Tears welled up in Dongzi's eyes as he spoke.

It was raining outside. He had just changed Qin Zheng's clothes, but he was still wearing wet clothes and looked very pitiful.

"It has nothing to do with you. It's a matter of time." Qin Zheng's voice was very low, and the wound he felt when he spoke made him frown.

"Brother Zheng, it's my fault. I shouldn't have ignored your advice to be on guard against some people just for the sake of convenience. I didn't expect that they would find us..." Dongzi blamed himself very much and couldn't even raise his head to speak.

"I don't know what you are talking about, but you are definitely not the only one to blame. Besides, if you were not here, Ah Zheng would not be able to come back." Grandma Bai could blame Qin Zheng for not taking care of himself, but she didn't think she would blame Dongzi for causing Qin Zheng to get hurt.

Grandma Bai's words didn't seem to have much effect. Although Dongzi didn't refute her, anyone could see the self-blame and regret on his face.

"Grandma, let's go out first and let Dongzi change his clothes. He is still wearing wet clothes. Don't let him catch a cold." Tang Wan advised appropriately.

Qin Zheng has to talk to Dongzi personally about his problem; no one else can persuade him.

Grandma Bai sighed and looked at Qin Zheng lying on the bed and Dongzi standing silently beside the bed. She shook her head and went out with the support of Tang Wan.

"Let's make some porridge. Qin Zheng and Dongzi were both caught in the rain, especially the wound on Qin Zheng's back. Drinking some porridge can help them sweat." Tang Wan could see Grandma Bai's worry and said something to divert her attention.

"You're right." Grandma Bai also reacted and went to the cupboard to get some millet and a few red dates.

Qin Zheng was in that condition, and Grandma Bai couldn't help much after bandaging him, so she put more effort into the food.

Freshly cooked millet porridge was served with a little pickle, tomato, egg and fresh beans picked from the small plot of land behind the house.

After the meal was cooked, Grandma Bai called the two people in the room to eat.

I don't know what Qin Zheng said to Dongzi, but when Dongzi came out of the house to eat, his face looked much happier, he felt less guilty, and he walked more relaxed.

Dongzi first brought the meal to Qin Zheng into the east room, and then he ate a few bites himself.

"Grandma, there are still some things that need to be dealt with later. Brother Zheng just told me that I have to leave soon. Brother Zheng, please go and clean up after we finish eating. Please also take care of me in the evening." Dongzi ate a little hurriedly, and the food in his throat had not been swallowed when he spoke.
