Chapter 69: Drunk?
Dongzi reported to Grandma Bai before going to buy food.
Hearing the sound of Dongzi riding his bicycle, Grandma Bai also poked her head out of the kitchen, only to see two people standing inside and outside the main room.
"A Zheng, take Wan Wan to the backyard and dig out a jar of wine that I buried, and give it to Dongzi to celebrate tomorrow." Grandma Bai was in high spirits. Although Dongzi went to town to buy vegetables, she was still in the kitchen thinking about what dishes she could cook next.
When Qin Zheng heard what Grandma Bai said, he went to get a hoe and took Tang Wan to the backyard.
Tang Wan didn't know that there was wine buried in the backyard.
I suddenly became interested and followed Qin Zheng with some anticipation.
When they arrived at the backyard, Qin Zheng went to a place in the corner. Tang Wan looked there and saw no signs. This was probably the specific location where Qin Zheng Zhi buried the wine.
With Qin Zheng around, Tang Wan doesn't need to take action.
Tang Wan looked at Qin Zheng's hoe eagerly, fearing that he would break the wine jar when he used the hoe.
Perhaps the worry in Tang Wan's eyes was too obvious, Qin Zheng whispered: "I have an inch."
Qin Zheng's words made Tang Wan withdraw her gaze a little, but she was still not staring at Qin Zheng's hoe.
Fortunately, Qin Zheng was indeed very skilled, and his hoe stopped about twenty feet away from where the jar appeared.
After revealing the jar, Qin Zheng put the hoe aside and dug out the jar.
There should be a few jars of wine, but they are not very big.
After Qin Zheng dug out the jar, he handed it to Tang Wan, then buried the soil back in it to fill the hole he had just dug.
Tang Wan held the jar in both hands and carried it to the well in the backyard. After Qin Zheng filled it with soil, he took it and fetched a bucket of water to wash away the soil outside the jar.
"Is this the wine that grandma brewed herself?" Tang Wan gently moved closer and sniffed it. She didn't know if it was an illusion, but even though it hadn't been opened yet, she could smell a faint aroma of wine.
Tang Wan had a good alcohol tolerance in later life, but after coming here, she still had not drunk alcohol once.
"Well, grandma brewed a few jars of wine when this house was built, and now there are three jars left." Qin Zheng pointed to the place where he had just dug the wine.
"Then I'll have to taste it carefully later. I seem to be able to smell the aroma of wine." Tang Wanqi stood up and handed the wine in her hand to Qin Zheng.
Qin Zheng didn't seem surprised at all that Tang Wan could drink.
Come to think of it, Grandma Bai drinks and brews wine herself, so Qin Zheng should be used to women drinking.
The wine that was dug out was placed in the kitchen. Grandma Bai looked at the small jar and sighed, "I can dig out some to drink when I meet a happy event. Dongzi celebrated it with his wedding this time. I wonder when we can take out the remaining jars."
Grandma Bai said this while still looking at Qin Zheng.
Qin Zheng pretended not to hear and didn't respond at all.
Tang Wan was watching in the middle and found it funny. Grandma Bai had been finding things to criticize Qin Zheng recently. It was probably because of Dongzi's marriage. After all, Dongzi was several years younger than Qin Zheng.
It takes at least two or three hours to go to town and back, and during this time Grandma Bai has already started cooking.
Qin Zheng took the initiative to help Grandma Bai light the fire, and Tang Wan assisted Grandma Bai.
Qin Zheng sat there steadily, still doing the task of peeling garlic assigned to him by Grandma Bai. He watched Tang Wan talking to Grandma Bai and making her laugh, and for a moment he even hoped that this scene would continue.
Grandma Bai put a lot of effort into cooking every day. Knowing that Dongzi probably bought some meat and vegetables, Grandma Bai made some vegetarian dishes and desserts.
The honey Qin Zheng bought last time also came in handy.
Grandma Bai made two desserts, both of which were glutinous little things, and Tang Wan loved them very much.
