Chapter 7 Inquiry
The next morning, Tang Wan changed into a set of clothes that were convenient for work.
Today, Tang Wan was assigned to pull weeds. This job was relatively simple and was usually assigned to teenagers or elderly people who were too old to do it. It only earned four work points a day. Among the group of educated youth, Tang Wan was the only one assigned to such a job.
It was still early in the morning when Tang Wan took the initiative to find the team leader to ask if he could find some easier work for her.
Tang Wan had fair and tender skin to begin with. When the team leader went to collect the educated youth, he realized that he had assigned her another one who was unable to work.
Just last time, I got heatstroke not long after going to the fields. I am really delicate and can't do any heavy work, so I agreed to Tang Wan's request.
Anyway, this job doesn't earn many work points. If she is willing to do it, she can take fewer work points, and no one else will complain.
However, the reason why the captain could speak like this was because Tang Wan handed the packet of biscuits to the captain's child as soon as she arrived. The young educated youth knew how to behave, and it was so simple and would not offend anyone, so there was no need for the captain to refuse.
Tang Wan had anticipated this result. When she came to work, most people went to her assigned work area, and few people paid attention to what Tang Wan said to a child.
But captain, please be careful with your child.
It wasn't the busy farming season, so she could even choose not to go to work. It wouldn't be difficult to find an easier job. Even if she didn't bring any cookies, the captain would still agree in the end.
After all, Tang Wan doesn't look like she can do heavy work. If Tang Wan becomes unhappy, the captain will have to be on guard.
However, you still have to give in to others' social etiquette so that it will be easier next time.
There are also places for mixed kids, and Tang Wan easily got the information she wanted to know.
Tang Wan had not expected that Qin Zheng had such a negative reputation in the village. When she inadvertently brought up the topic, the children nearby looked a little scared and told Tang Wan to be careful with him.
"So some people say he killed someone?"
"Shh!" The one talking to Tang Wan was Cuicui, a girl of about fourteen or fifteen years old.
At this moment, she heard Tang Wan's words and quickly asked her to speak more quietly. She also looked up to see if anyone could hear her.
"Yes, I overheard my mother talking to my father in the middle of the night. She said that when he first returned to our village, he had a ferocious look on his face, as if he disliked everyone. He even broke one of his uncle Zhenxing's legs. That was his biological uncle! No one dared to mess with him after that." Cuicui looked a little scared when she talked about Qin Zheng.
"Back to your village? Didn't he go to the village before?" Tang Wan grasped the key point in Cuicui's words.
"He died when he was a teenager and only came back after going out. I don't know what he did during that long period of time. Some people said that he killed someone and was imprisoned before being released." Luo Ying, the girl on the other side of Tang Wan, answered Tang Wan's question.
"He also beat up a guy from the next village. It was when we went to the movie next door last time. He didn't like the guy and beat him up so hard that his face was covered in blood. It was so scary." Cuicui said as if she was recalling the situation at that time. She didn't pretend to be afraid of Qin Zheng at all.
Tang Wan had not expected that the situation in Qin Zheng's village was like this. It was far different from what she knew.
But she has always trusted her own judgment, and Qin Zheng is not that kind of person.
In her opinion, although Qin Zheng looked fierce with his sharp features, he was definitely not the kind of person who would beat someone up for no reason, and it was even more impossible that he had killed someone outside and came back.
There should be nothing wrong with it.
"Has he ever hit anyone besides that guy?"
"Yes, someone saw him fighting with others when he was in town!" Luo Ying was very excited when he mentioned this, and obviously wanted to share the gossip he knew.
Tang Wan looked at her in surprise: "And then?"
