"Yes, Second Master, I'll arrange it right away," Liu Feng responded, and left the office. He heaved a sigh of relief as he closed the door. He had to admit that he was very tired from his sister's troubles.
After Liu Feng left the office, Sheng Yanchuan finished his work and planned to leave. As the year was coming to an end, there was less work to do, so he and Nanqiao could take a break.
Sheng Yanchuan got in the car, looked at the cakes on the passenger seat, sighed, and drove to Sheng's house.
It was almost dinner time, and there were quite a few customers in Huiping's shop. When Sheng Yanchuan entered, only Aunt Xiumei was there to greet them.
"Mom!" Sheng Yanchuan came into the store with something in his hand. Aunt Xiumei looked up when she heard the voice. Seeing that it was Sheng Yanchuan, she quickly put down the things in her hands without caring whether the customer needed anything.
"Yanchuan is here. Have you eaten yet? I'll make you something." Aunt Xiumei said with a smile as she pulled Sheng Yanchuan to sit aside. She hadn't seen her son for so long, and she missed him anyway.
"I don't want to eat anymore. This is for you. Qiaoqiao's mother prepared it for me and asked me to bring it over."
"Oh, so, thank you for my leave," Aunt Xiumei replied awkwardly, looking at the things on the table without knowing what to feel.
"Well, you guys go ahead and do your work. I'll be back first." Sheng Yanchuan didn't know what to say when he saw his mother like this. He put down his things and planned to leave.
Aunt Xiumei looked at him getting up to leave and said anxiously, "Why don't you stay for a while? It's a rare opportunity for you to come back."
"No, you guys go ahead and do your work." Sheng Yanchuan stood up and walked to the door, where he stood still. He still felt a little soft-hearted, and after hesitating for a moment, he turned around and said, "I'll arrange for someone to deliver the New Year's goods to you tomorrow."
Then he drove away
Seeing Sheng Yanchuan leave, the customers in the store withdrew their gazes and started gossiping with Aunt Xiumei.
"Big sister, is that your son?" An old lady asked Aunt Xiumei with a gossipy look on her face.
"Well, my second son," Aunt Xiumei said, looking at the cakes in her hand, sighing slightly, and putting them on the counter.
"Have you got married yet?" The old lady was waiting for Aunt Xiumei's answer with excitement. She just saw that the car the man drove was very impressive.
"Get married, and you'll have grandchildren." Aunt Xiumei heard what this person said and knew what he was thinking.
"Ah, married? That's a pity. I think the young man has good conditions and he said he would introduce him to my daughter. Whose family did your son marry? Is he from nearby?" Although the old aunt regretted that the man was married, she still gossiped about him. Anyway, her meal hadn't been served yet, so she was just sitting there.
Speaking of her daughter-in-law, Aunt Xiumei felt inexplicably annoyed. Thinking about Sheng Yanchuan's attitude just now, she felt even more troubled. But the person asking this question was a customer in the store after all. Aunt Xiumei restrained her emotions and put on a faint smile on her face, "My daughter-in-law lives in the south house next door. The couple also live there."
"The Nan family? Director Nan's family?" The old lady was stunned when she heard this. The children of the Nan family are all outstanding. Who doesn't know them if they live in this area? After hearing this, the old lady felt that Sheng Yanchuan looked familiar. After all, they were from the same area, so it was inevitable that they would meet each other.
"Yeah," Aunt Xiumei nodded awkwardly. She didn't want to be accused of borrowing the power of the Nan family, so she mentioned the Nan family in a superficial way.
"That's a good girl. All the children of the Nan family are good." Speaking of the Nan family, the old lady seemed to open up her chatterbox. She showed off the Nan family's children like she was showing off her own children. She even talked about some of the things she had heard when she was a child.
The guests at the table next to them listened to them talking about the Nan family, and they all came over and joined in from time to time, saying things like how smart the Nan family's children were, how kind Director Nan and his wife were, and so on...
When I found out that the shop was opened by the husband's family of the youngest daughter of the Nan family, my attitude towards Aunt Xiumei also improved a lot.
It would have been better if they hadn't said that. The more they said that, the more upset Xiumei felt. What was going on? Her family had to put on a smile every day, and in the end, they only got some good looks because of her husband's family in Nanqiao. Aunt Xiumei felt so complicated.
"You guys are chatting, I'll go to the kitchen to check if your food is ready." Aunt Xiumei couldn't stay here any longer, so she smiled and said and went to the kitchen. She didn't want to hear such words in the first place, and she was even more embarrassed to hear such words after the conflict with Nanqiao that day.
"Mom, why are you here? Wait a minute, I'll be ready soon." Huiping was busy in the kitchen. When she saw her mother-in-law come in, she took a look and didn't care about her anymore. As for whether Aunt Xiumei would answer her or what she would answer, she didn't care much. She just wanted to make the food in her hands as soon as possible and make it delicious.
But who would have thought that her casual question would open Aunt Xiumei's mouth. Standing not far behind her, while waiting for the meal to be ready, she complained to her about everything that happened outside.
Then he asked her, "Do you think what I said is right?"
Hui Ping didn't want to pay any attention to her mother-in-law. What could she say? Besides, what she said was wrong.
"Mom, this dish is ready. It's for table 3. Can you help deliver it?" Huiping took the dish out of the pot, wiped the grease off the edge of the plate, and turned around to prepare the next dish without saying a word.
Aunt Xiumei was even more dissatisfied when she saw her like this. Her two daughters-in-law were getting more and more irritable.
"Duan Duan Duan, I think you are all very capable," Aunt Xiumei muttered, and walked out with the plate in dissatisfaction.
Huiping listened to Aunt Xiumei leaving, and looked back at the direction she left, without stopping her movements. She naturally heard what her mother-in-law said when she left, but was it really as they said, that she didn't care about her because she was capable? She didn't think so.
