"Tell me, what happened this morning?" Director Zhang returned to the office, made himself a cup of tea, sat down on the chair, and then looked at Xiao Li who was standing in front of the desk with his hands and feet tied.
"Nothing...Nothing," Xiao Li stuttered.
"Don't talk to me about these nonsense. Don't you and I know each other? If you really didn't say anything, then Liu Feng is usually so busy that he can't even make an appointment. Why did he make this special trip today? How could he be so obsessed with such a trivial matter?" This Xiao Li is good in everything. He is responsible at work and lives up to the clothes he wears. However, he is too cynical and has a little hatred of the rich. He always thinks that those who are rich and powerful are unkind, so he is somewhat biased when handling some cases.
However, in the past, when handling cases, most of them were emotional injustices, which did not affect work. But this incident also made Director Zhang realize that if Xiao Li did not change this problem, big problems would arise sooner or later.
"I really didn't say anything. It's just that when I went to the scene this morning, Mr. Liu brought a lot of people around. I thought they had hit someone and wanted to threaten him..." Xiao Li's voice became smaller and smaller, and he became less and less confident. In the end, he simply couldn't say any more. This time he really misunderstood.
"You should change this bad habit in the future. As a police officer, you are supposed to collect evidence and solve cases from a neutral perspective. If you have a preconceived notion that powerful people are villains, how will you go about your future?"
Director Zhang has been working in this area since the beginning, and he has been promoted to this position step by step. Most of the police officers under him were recruited under his supervision. Director Zhang truly treats these people as his own people, and naturally hopes that they will have a smooth journey in the future. So even though he feels that Xiao Li's behavior has somewhat blocked his path to promotion, he is more worried about his temper.
"I understand, Director Zhang, I will change in the future," Xiao Li responded very seriously. His temper really caused him a lot of trouble. Otherwise, he would not have been a grassroots police officer after working for so many years.
"Director Zhang, I didn't cause you any trouble today, did I?" Xiao Li asked tentatively. He knew that Director Zhang would make connections through various means from time to time during this period, and he also knew that Chaoyang, as a top industry in this area, was the person that Director Zhang planned to win over. However, he really didn't know whether the person today was from Chaoyang or the assistant of Chaoyang's boss. He was worried that he would be punished for dereliction of duty, and he was also worried that Director Zhang would be implicated because of him.
"It's okay. You're such a big boss, you won't bother with such small matters. But you have to handle that Su thing properly. Compensate according to the price of this order. Ask him clearly whether to pay it off in one lump sum or in installments. If he disagrees, detain him first and contact his family to handle it." Director Zhang waved his hand and didn't care much. Today's matter had nothing to do with them. It was just a few verbal gossips. But the person involved handled it properly. He heard that Mr. Sheng treated his wife as his lifeblood. Such a thing happened when she was pregnant. Although it was an accident, he felt that with Mr. Sheng's methods, he only asked for the car repair fee and didn't cause trouble for him, which was already considered mercy.
"Okay, Director Zhang, I'll go take care of it first." Xiao Li walked out of Director Zhang's office dejectedly.
A police officer who had been at the scene with him in the morning saw him coming out and ran over to him, "Brother Li, are you okay? I noticed that Director Zhang doesn't look very well."
"It's okay. This is the car repair quotation sent by Mr. Liu. Let the man compensate according to the price this morning. If he refuses to compensate, detain him first and let his family handle it." Li Gongan shook the list in his hand and showed it to the young policeman. He sighed and went to the office where Su Mu was.
"That car is so expensive..." The policeman stood there in a daze holding the bill. It was not even enough for his annual salary... and the car didn't seem to be seriously damaged in the morning, so how could it be so expensive?
"Of course. Do you know who was sitting there when the car rear-ended another this morning?" Li Gongan looked around and started gossiping when he saw no one was paying attention to them.
"Who is it? They said they were a family of four. They should be high-ranking people in Chaoyang." They were not there when Liu Feng and Li Gongan were talking, so they didn't know who was in the car.
"It's true that they are a family of four, but you know whose assistant Liu Feng is, right? Who else can order him around..." Li Gongan pouted and said in a mysterious way. The young Gongan seemed to be thinking about something, and suddenly he exclaimed in sudden realization.
“It’s not that big Buddha.”
"It's that family..." Li Gongan scratched his head helplessly, thinking about his rudeness in the morning and Director Zhang's questioning in the afternoon. His head ached slightly. He was not sure whether the other party was a bad person. He had fallen into the hands of the rich people he hated, and there was no way to escape.
"So, the repair fee is not that much." The policeman smiled awkwardly. Such a big boss, powerful and young, would never slander others for such a small amount of money. However, according to the record of the scene in the morning, Su Mu did not run away, so he had to pay the money.
"Well, let's go ask. It doesn't look like Su Mu has the money to pay. But no matter what, Mr. Sheng needs to give a reply as soon as possible." Speaking of this, Public Security Li was a little worried. It would be best if he could compensate according to the price. If not... there must be a reasonable reason for the detention, right?
The policeman seemed to have thought of this, frowning and clicking his tongue as he walked. This was really hard to handle.
"Li Gongan, you are here, can I leave now?" Su Mu asked hurriedly when he saw Li Gongan coming in. He had been here for a whole afternoon and wanted to go home.
"Let's wait for the departure, let's talk about compensation." Li Gongan said and sat down, placing the quotation in front of Su Mu.
