"Come, girl, sit inside."
"Okay, Uncle Bai." Nanqiao followed Bai Feng and entered the house obediently.
"Come here, Nan girl, this is your aunt, just call her Aunt Fang. This is Nanqiao, the daughter of the Shanghai factory manager Nan who I told you about before, who came here to work in the countryside."
"Hello, Aunt Fang," Nanqiao greeted the middle-aged woman who came out of the inner room.
"Okay, okay, girl, hurry up and do it. Your uncle Bai has been talking about you a lot, always asking when you'll come."
"I had wanted to come visit you two a long time ago, but I'm new here and I'm not familiar with the place, and Murakami has a lot of things scheduled, so I was a little delayed."
"It's okay, I'm glad you can come. I haven't seen you for so long, are your parents in good health?" Bai Feng asked Nanqiao who was sitting on the small sofa.
"Everything is fine. My parents asked me to bring this to you from Shanghai," Nanqiao said as he handed the package to Uncle Bai and Aunt Fang.
"You came here, why did you bring anything with you?" Bai Feng looked at Nanqiao disapprovingly.
"They are all in Shanghai. You may not be able to buy them here. I want you to try something new."
"Uncle, I bought the popsicles." As soon as Nanqiao finished speaking, the sound of Bai Kaixuan running out of breath came from outside the door.
"Hurry, girl, have some ice cream. You little girls love sweet things." Bai Feng took the ice cream from Bai Kaixuan's hand and handed it to Nan Qiao.
Nanqiao took it and thanked him, then ate while chatting with Baifeng. I have to say that the ice cream tastes really good these days.
Bai Kaixuan sat on the side and listened to the conversation awkwardly, fearing that Nanqiao would bring up what happened last time. However, seeing that the whole conversation was about his uncle thanking Nanqiao's father for his help, Nanqiao just listened quietly. After agreeing with a few words, he felt much more at ease.
Nanqiao sat for a while and then stood up to leave.
"Uncle Bai, I won't bother you today. I have to take the village tractor back to the village later," Nanqiao said as he stood up.
"Stay for dinner. I'll find a car to take you home after dinner."
"Maybe next time, uncle. The educated youth center wants us to have dinner together tonight. We have been here for so long and we haven't gotten to know each other yet."
"Okay then, uncle won't keep you here. Come here often if you have the chance."
"Okay, Uncle Bai, Aunt Fang, I'm leaving now. Please stay."
