Upon returning to Yechao, Chu Chenxiao and the others discovered that time seemed to have resumed its flow at that moment, and everything had returned to life.
But they also knew that the danger had not truly gone away; it was merely lying dormant for the time being.
They decided to find a safe place to settle down first, while studying how to completely resolve the hidden dangers brought about by the Chaos Spirit Orb.
So the four of them did not return to the palace, but went straight to Yin Yuyao's residence.
The four were well aware that the current situation was complex and many matters needed to be discussed. Yin Yuyao's residence was relatively secluded and safe, making it an ideal place to discuss countermeasures.
During their stay in the manor, they worked day and night, repeatedly discussing issues such as the aftermath of the Chaos Spirit Pearl, the possible movements of the mysterious organization, and the stability of the spacetime order, trying to find solutions from ancient records, past experiences, and their respective expertise.
The room was brightly lit, and the people inside looked solemn. The atmosphere was tense and heavy. Every detail and every possibility was analyzed in detail, with alternating moments of debate and silence after careful consideration.
However, the days passed in the blink of an eye, and the day for court quietly arrived.
Despite his worries, Emperor Chu Chenxiao had no choice but to return to the palace with Xu Ruyu, Ning Yuyuan, and Xixi.
The group was in a hurry, but as they stepped into the palace, they had no idea that an unexpected incident was about to occur.
Sunlight filtered through the mottled palace walls, casting a golden glow on the long palace corridor, adding a touch of tranquility and peace to the otherwise solemn and dignified palace.
Along the palace path, neatly trimmed bushes swayed gently in the breeze, and occasionally a few unidentified birds hopped and played on the branches, chirping as if singing a little tune for the peaceful daily life in the palace.
Eunuchs and palace maids, in twos and threes, each carrying exquisite objects or documents, hurried yet carefully moved between the palaces. They were dressed in uniform palace attire, their expressions respectful and humble. Occasionally they would exchange a few words in hushed tones, but they dared not slacken their pace for fear of disturbing the solemnity of the palace.
However, this tranquility was broken by a faint commotion coming from not far away.
Xu Ruyu from the original timeline was walking along the palace road, pondering the recent situation in the court and the family mission she was shouldering.
Suddenly, a figure came into view. The eyebrows and the figure were exactly the same as his own, as if he were looking in a mirror.
In an instant, his mind went blank, leaving only shock and bewilderment.
"How is this possible? How could there be such a similar person in the world? Could it be the result of some kind of evil magic?" He subconsciously took a step back, warily examining the other person, his eyes full of vigilance and doubt.
Having grown up in this complex court and aristocratic environment, his first reaction was to suspect that there might be some conspiracy behind it, or that someone was deliberately trying to disrupt the court or target his family.
Xu Ruyu from the new timeline was also taken aback by this unexpected encounter. Looking at the person in front of him who looked exactly like him, he felt a complex and indescribable emotion welling up inside him.
"Is he me from this time and space? Why does he look so unfamiliar yet so familiar?" His past experiences in another time and space involuntarily surfaced in his mind, the days when he went on adventures with Chu Chenxiao and others, and the hardships and dangers he went through to protect the Chaos Spirit Pearl.
The person before us, however, has a completely different life trajectory. He stands within these palace walls, dressed in court robes, and must have his own glory and troubles.
"How should I explain all this to him? Will he believe me?" Xu Ruyu from the new timeline was filled with anxiety. He knew that the chaos caused by the time-space intersection could not be explained in a few words, and the reaction of the person in front of him would directly affect the development of subsequent events.
He was worried that the other party would see him as a monster or an enemy, and he was also afraid that his appearance would bring more trouble and danger to this space-time.
As the two gazed at each other silently, their hearts churning with turbulent emotions, a series of hurried footsteps approached from afar.
Chu Chenxiao was extremely anxious. She knew all too well the chaos and danger that might result from the two Xu Ruyu meeting. Her hair was soaked with sweat, and her eyes were filled with anxiety and worry.
Ning Yu followed closely behind, her figure nimble and her steps hurried. She gripped her sword sheath tightly in her hand, her expression tense as she looked around, secretly wary of any unexpected situations that might arise.
Xi Xi looked worried, her delicate brows furrowed tightly. She jogged along, trying to keep up with Chu Chenxiao and Ning Yuyuan. Her gaze kept shifting between the two figures ahead and the surrounding environment, afraid of missing any potential threat.
"Your Majesty, what should we do?" Ning Yuyuan asked Chu Chenxiao in a low voice, panting heavily, her voice tinged with unease.
Chu Chenxiao did not answer, but quickened her pace, her eyes becoming increasingly determined. She knew that she had to quickly take control of the situation and prevent it from getting out of control.
Just as he was about to reach the two of them, Chu Chenxiao shouted, "Don't be impulsive!"
The voice echoed through the palace corridor, carrying an undeniable authority.
The eunuchs and palace maids passing by stopped in their tracks, casting curious and frightened glances, but dared not get too close. They stood at a distance, whispering amongst themselves, utterly astonished by this sudden turn of events.
On the eaves of the distant palace, several white doves were startled by the sudden commotion, flapping their wings and flying into the sky, cooing as if adding a touch of panic to the tense atmosphere.
The flowers in the flowerbeds beside the palace road, which were originally blooming beautifully, seemed to sense this unease. They trembled slightly in the wind, and their petals fluttered down, scattering on the bluestone pavement, as if laying a beautiful yet slightly sad floral carpet for the unknown variables that were about to come.
