Chapter 168: Rebellion (1/2)

There was a bang bang sound on the door, and An Bohuai went to open the door calmly.

"Are you Amber Huai?"

An Bohuai pretended to be clueless and said, "I am, who are you? It's dark now, what are you doing in my house?"

Without saying a word, Li Guochao signaled his men behind him to rush in.

An Bohuai hurried to stop them, "You haven't told me who you are yet, why are you trespassing into a private residence?"

Li Guochao snorted coldly, "Someone reported that you were hiding feudal books and had reactionary ideas. We are here to search!"

An Bohuai was shocked. "Who reported me? I didn't hide anything. I am a professor at the provincial university and a specialist at the Institute of Literature and History. I came to Yun County to do research. I can show you my letter of introduction."

Li Guochao turned a deaf ear.

The people he brought had already broken into the house and were searching everywhere.

An Bohuai looked anxious. "Don't look around. I don't have many books at home, let alone any feudal books. The person who reported it must be slandering me!"

"Since you don't have anything hidden in your house, why are you afraid of our search?" Li Guochao directed his men, "Go, open that closed door and search it thoroughly."

However, before anyone could get there, the closed door opened by itself.

"Deputy Commander Li, nice to see you again. You are leading the team again this time."

Li Guochao was not particularly surprised when he saw who came out of the house.

But thinking about the last time he caught an adulterer by the river, he couldn't help but have a bad feeling when facing An Hua.

This won't fail again, will it?

Li Guochao reviewed his plan carefully. His people had already kept a close watch on the house. Unless the people inside could escape underground, it would be impossible to transport the items out under his nose.

So, the stuff must still be in this house.

As long as the thing is there, he can find it even if he digs three feet into the ground.

Li Guochao felt relieved and said with a fake smile: "Someone reported it, so of course I have to investigate. This is my job."

An Hua: "You are the vice chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of Yun County Guangming Food Factory. My father is a professor at the provincial university. Your responsibility is far-reaching."

Li Guochao is thick-skinned and doesn't care about An Hua's sarcasm.

"Since Professor An is in Yun County and someone has reported it to me, I have no choice but to mind my own business."

An Hua nodded, "You are not meddling in other people's business. After all, it was Director Niu who assigned you this job. He is so kind to you, you should do your best to complete the work he assigned to you. Otherwise, if things don't go well like last time, the responsibility will also be on you."

An Hua's words were undoubtedly an attempt to sow discord, but Li Guochao was really aroused by these few words and became angry towards Niu Degui, because he himself knew best how "good" Niu Degui was to him.

Li Guochao's face suddenly twisted.

An Hua smiled and said, "Since someone reported that my father was hiding something, it's okay. Just search for him. After the search, my father will be cleared of all charges."

Li Guochao stared at An Hua's face, trying to see if she had any guilt feelings.

In the end, he found nothing, and An Hua was calm as if he really couldn't find anything.

Is it an act? Or is it true?

Li Guochao was shocked and confused.

An Hua's next words made Li Guochao even more nervous.

"However, Vice President Li is willing to be a pawn to frame my father. He should have thought about it in advance. If the frame-up fails, what price should Vice President Li pay for his actions?"
