Chapter 30: Going to Work (1/2)

When she goes to work, Dongdong has to be sent to kindergarten.

Dongdong didn't want to go to kindergarten, and said in a baby voice: "I also want to go to work and accompany my mother."

An Hua laughed, "Adults go to work, and children go to school. This is called doing one's job. When Dongdong grows up, he can be the adult, okay?"

Dong Dong looked worried, "When will I grow up? I really want to go to work."

An Hua: "...Very good. I hope you can still think this way when you grow up."

Dongdong was always obedient. With Anhua's consolation and comfort, he walked into the kindergarten step by step.

It is called a kindergarten, but it is actually a nursery. The teachers are all military dependents, and they take the children to sing, dance and play games every day.

When Dongdong's small figure disappeared from An Hua's sight, she couldn't help but feel a little sour in her nose. At this moment, she couldn't tell whether this feeling was an instinctive reaction of her body or a product of her own soul.

The Red Star Food Factory is the state-owned factory on the other side of the river, and it only takes six minutes to walk there.

Although this food factory is located in a small county town, food is a very important daily necessities category. Moreover, the Red Star Food Factory is quite large. It not only produces canned food, but also exports it to Eastern Europe. Apart from a mining factory, it is the only enterprise in the province that earns foreign exchange.

As soon as An Hua entered the factory gate, she felt a different atmosphere.

It was rush hour at that time, and people were pouring in. Everyone was wearing blue work clothes, with their heads held high, their faces full of pride and honor for their profession.

People marched forward, accompanied by the song "We Workers Have Power" played on the loudspeakers. Their spirits were as positive as the sun at eight or nine o'clock in the morning.

It seems that for them, going to work is not a task that they are forced to complete.

An Hua was used to seeing the resentment and frustration emanating from workers on the Internet. Comparing this scene with the present one, she couldn't help but marvel at it. They were both workers, but their mental outlooks were so different.

"ah--"

"People in front, please make way——"

Suddenly, there was a nervous shout from behind. An Hua jumped to the side reflexively. Then she heard a "clang". She looked up and saw a girl fell down on her bicycle.

An Hua walked over quickly and said, "You're not feeling well."

The girl slowly stood up with her help, carefully moved her ankle, and found that there was nothing wrong with it. She breathed a sigh of relief, "No, thank you very much."

An Hua saw that a piece of skin on her elbow had been scraped off and there was dust on the wound. She said, "Why don't you go to the infirmary to get it treated? Be careful of infection."

The girl twisted her arm and looked at it, then shook her head and said, "It's a minor problem. There's no need to go to the infirmary. I can just go to the office and get some hydrogen peroxide to wash it."

An Hua stopped talking.

The girl picked up the bicycle and smiled at her. "My name is Yang Tianjiao, and I work in the Party Committee Office. Which workshop are you from?"

"I'm from the factory's publicity department," An Hua paused and added, "I just reported in the other day."

Yang Tianjiao was puzzled at first, then suddenly realized, "That's what I said, there's no one in the factory or the union who I don't know, so it turns out you're the one. Then let's go to work together!"

An Hua looked at her bicycle and said, "It looks like the front tire of your bicycle is flat. Can it still be pushed away?"

Yang Tianjiao raised his chin and pointed in a direction, "It's okay, just around the corner is the carport. I'll lock it in the carport for now, and then find a way to fix it when I get off work."
