Chapter 4: No matter how fierce or powerful a man is, he is still just a man (1/2)

There was no time to cook today, so when it was time for dinner, Xiao Zheng took his wife and children to the cafeteria.

An Hua took the children to find a seat and Xiao Zheng went to buy food and meal tickets.

A middle-aged woman walked past An Hua, took a few steps and turned back to look at her, "Are you Xiao An?"

An Hua was at a loss.

The woman smiled and said, "I'm Ge Hongying. My husband is the political commissar here. I was there when you and Xiao Zheng had your wedding banquet in the provincial capital."

An Hua stood up and said with a smile, "I'm sorry, sister-in-law, I didn't recognize you."

"It's okay, it's okay." Ge Hongying motioned for her to just sit down, then looked at Dongdong for a few times, "Is this Xiao Zheng's son? The little guy inherited his mother's beauty, but he doesn't look like his father at all."

At first glance, these words seemed to be complimenting Dongdong's good looks, but Ge Hongying's expression when she said this was a little strange.

An Hua ignored the awkwardness in her heart and let her son kiss her. She then said, "In fact, the child's nose and mouth look very much like Xiao Zheng."

Ge Hongying smiled and nodded, saying, "Okay, you guys sit down, I'm going to get some food too."

An Hua watched Ge Hongying leave.

After a while, Xiao Zheng came back with a lunch box.

There were two dishes, a soup, and eight white steamed buns, which was a very large portion.

"If it's not enough, buy more." Xiao Zheng said.

"Dongdong and I can't eat much, this should be enough." An Hua broke a steamed bun into two halves and gave half to Dongdong.

"He's already four years old, and he can't even eat a bun?"

"Dongdong doesn't eat much."

"What about you? You only eat half of it too?"

"Half is enough."

Xiao Zheng took a bite of the steamed bun in his hand and said nothing.

Really easy to feed.

At this rate, I can afford to support even one exclusive owner.

An Hua tore the steamed bun bit by bit and fed it into her mouth.

Dongdong didn't tear it apart when eating, and he just bit it slowly.

Both of them were very happy.

Xiao Zheng was much more unrestrained, eating quickly and with big mouthfuls.

That’s not a big deal, as he’s quite skillful in his movements and doesn’t end up with a messy mouth full of soup.

However, An Hua discovered that he he he he...he was smacking his lips!

All the dusty memories of the original body came flooding back.

In the room we shared at the provincial military academy, I hated his eating habits. He smacked his lips when he ate, didn't pay attention to hygiene, and sometimes he came back from outside, smelling of alcohol, and would just kick off his shoes and lie down on the bed...

Such small examples could fill a whole page.

An Hua, who vowed to cling to the male protagonist's golden thigh, is no longer confident.

She grew up in a more developed society, and her family was considered middle class. As a descendant of this generation, many of her lifestyle habits are consistent with those of her original self, a bourgeois lady.

The original body and the male protagonist could not get along.

Can she?

An Hua thought about it for a while and felt that, regardless of other things, Xiao Zheng's toilet habits must be corrected, as well as the problem of smacking his lips while eating.

But this will have to come slowly later.

An Hua looked at Xiao Zheng and said, "By the way, Ge Hongying's sister-in-law just greeted me and said she attended our wedding."

Xiao Zheng said: "Sister-in-law Hongying is the daughter-in-law of Political Commissar Yu Baoshan. She is a very capable person. She works at the Women's Federation of our Yun County. Family members like to look for her when they have any problems. If you encounter any difficulties, you can also look for her."

An Hua thought to herself that it was no wonder, as Ge Hongying looked very capable and opinionated.

Speaking of work, Xiao Zheng suddenly remembered to ask, "You said you quit your job?"

An Hua: "Yeah."

Xiao Zheng slowed down his eating, "To join the army?"

An Hua: "Yeah."

Xiao Zheng was silent for a moment, but couldn't help asking, "Why are you willing now?"

Xiao Zheng had tentatively raised the issue of joining the army before, but before he could finish his words he was interrupted by An Hua's cold eyes.

She said that she wanted to pursue art and could not confine herself to her family, nor would she give up her ideal pursuit for the sake of her family.
