Chapter 19: The King of Voles

"Xiaoxi——" The sound of knocking on the door accompanied by shouting startled Lu Yunxi who was in deep thought.

She looked around, trying to find a place to hide the notebook.

It took him a while to come back to his senses and he slapped his head.

How could she forget about the space? !

She threw the book back into the space and quickly opened the door.

"Xiaoxi, you're amazing! I asked the dance master, and he said we could get married, but the girls in the dance studio were so serious about learning dance that no one cared about getting married, so it kept dragging on until the deadline passed," Daya said of the girls in the dance studio, sighing, "What a pity! They were so beautiful, but they missed the best time to get married."

Lu Yunxi: ...

She didn't think that everyone in the dance studio felt so sorry, maybe they were delaying it on purpose!

She poured Daya a glass of sugar water, but still didn't express her guess: "So, have you decided to learn dancing? Grandma Wang said you've learned enough. Are you going to continue studying in town?"

Li Daya nodded, her face showing some anticipation but also some trepidation: "Yes, because everyone in our village is in town. If I go to another city, Master is afraid that no one will be able to take care of me."

Dancing is different from other jobs. Most people start out at the age of 18, but dancing is better when you are younger because you need to go to a dance studio to train with others. The longer you work together, the better the understanding will be.

"Grandma has already written to Mom and Dad, asking if they can come back and take me to town," Daya said, her cheek in her hand, her eyes full of smiles, looking full of anticipation for the future. "If Mom and Dad are busy, Grandma said she'd see who in the village is going to town and ask them to take me there."

"Then I'll make you something delicious to bring up!" Lu Yunxi blinked. "Daya, you dance so well, you'll definitely become the best dancer!"

After seeing off Daya, who looked embarrassed, and closing the door, her expression darkened.

She had no expectations of Daya's parents coming to pick her up and take her to town.

We've been neighbors for years, and she's naturally knowledgeable. Who doesn't know who?!

Daya has never seen her parents. Under the brainwashing of Grandma Li, she thinks that her parents are very good to her and she is very happy every time they mention them.

Grandma Li occasionally received letters from the town, which talked about Li Dabao.

Li Dabao is Daya's twin brother, but he was brought to the town by Li's parents to live with them. I heard before that he was sent to a private school!

One lives in a town, where he can enjoy delicious food and study; the other lives in a village, where he can only eat meat a few times throughout the year!

Daya didn’t even know that she had such a brother!

Lu Yunxi is about half a year older than Daya.

At that time, Aunt Li was giving birth to a child. She happened to be basking in the sun at the door and saw Uncle Li sitting at the door next door.

Apparently because he thought it was unlucky for a woman to give birth, Uncle Li refused to go into the yard and just sat at the gate waiting.

Uncle Li was so happy when the first one was a boy. But when he found out that the second one was a girl, his expression changed completely and he showed a look of disgust, without any concealment at all!

You know, back then everyone was like robots! And yet the Li family could still make such expressions when giving birth!

She deeply suspected that favoring boys over girls was the nature of the Li couple!

After the villagers returned to normal, the Li family never asked about Daya's situation, as if Daya didn't exist at all!

Lu Yunxi shook his head helplessly.

Although she knew about this, she had no way of telling Daya. She couldn't tell Daya that her parents favored boys over girls, right?

So she could only take advantage of this time to prepare more food and supplies for Daya, so that if Daya really wanted to go up, she would not starve to death.

*

Lu Yunxi was hunting rabbits crazily in the mountains.

This time she didn't even go up the mountain, but just wandered around at the foot of the mountain. Unexpectedly, she actually found a rabbit.

Now she was too lazy to go up the mountain. It was not only physically demanding but also very dangerous. The chance of wild boars appearing at the foot of the mountain was much smaller!

After that, she squatted at the foot of the mountain and hunted rabbits.

She didn't know how much time had passed until there were only about twenty arrows left. Then she stopped and prepared to go home.

However, as soon as she turned around, she ran into an old acquaintance, uh, an old familiar animal!

Looking at the field mouse in front of her, she raised her bow and arrow again.

The field mice at the foot of the mountain are different from the field mice in the farmlands. They are twice as big as those in the farmlands and their eyes are much more ferocious.

Of course, there is another possibility, that is, this vole is the "Vole King" that the villagers have been looking for!

There were all sorts of thoughts running through my mind, but it only took a moment.

The arrow shot out and dealt a critical blow to the vole.

The vole was furious, a red light flashed on its body, and a strange halo slowly grew larger, but before it could unleash its strongest attack.

Another arrow shot.

The Vole King's hind legs twitched and he fell to the ground.

[Ding! Congratulations on defeating the Vole King and earning the title "Vole King"!]

She raised an eyebrow.

This Vole King is much easier to defeat than the Wild Boar King, right?!

"But, did I see a red light just now?" She muttered to herself as she walked forward.

Aside from size, there's no difference between a vole king and a vole.

"What aperture?! I must have seen it wrong!" But, is there something wrong with her eyes?!

Lu Yunxi casually threw the Vole King into the space and hurried home.
