Chapter 63 Returning Home

Lu Yunxi and her fellow disciples were so busy fighting monsters that she even forgot about time.

The battle lasted for more than a month before this wave of beasts finally ended.

Even the eldest brother, disregarding his own graceful demeanor, simply lay on the ground, panting heavily, looking much more exhausted than after a marathon. "This beast tide has lasted over a month! I'm exhausted!"

The other disciples were too lazy to move, either sitting or lying on the ground, looking almost dead.

Normally, they would respond enthusiastically to the eldest brother and sister's words, but now they had indifference on their faces, as if they didn't hear the eldest brother's sigh, and slowly closed their eyes.

They were too tired to talk.

Lu Yunxi also felt breathless and tired. He didn't bother to check the system and fell asleep. Aside from the beasts of the beast tide who could cross space, no outsiders could enter their sect.

The outer disciples became worried when they saw them like this.

"Manager, should we take them back to their room to sleep?" A errand disciple looked at his senior brothers and sisters with a bit of heartache.

The outer sect's steward rolled his eyes and said, "If you have the guts, carry them all back to their rooms!" Although menial disciples didn't have to fight, they still had to do all the other chores like cooking, mending clothes, etc. He was also exhausted.

After saying that, he fell into a deep sleep.

The few young disciples who were still barely awake looked at each other for a while, then they were too lazy to care about anything else and just found an open space to lie down and fall asleep.

And just when they were busy catching up on their sleep without even having time to return to their rooms, they were not far from the sect.

The Palace Master of Misty Rain Palace, along with a group of people behind him, ran forward madly.

"Hurry! Let's hurry back! There are too few people left in the sect, and the severity of this beast tide is far beyond our expectations!" Tears flashed in the Palace Master's eyes.

She didn't dare say anything more, lest she break down on the spot.

Normally, the beast tide only lasts for a week, and the inner disciples who stayed behind are more than enough to solve the problem. However, things are far worse than expected, and the beast tide lasted for a month!

Three weeks ago, she wanted to ask some people to go back to the sect to help, but they were the outermost line of defense of the continent, and each person was responsible for a very large area, so no one could leave!

Now that the beast tide is over, no one cares about their wounds and runs madly towards the sect.

Everyone's expression was grave. Considering the severity of this beast tide, it would be a blessing if even half of the remaining sect members managed to survive!

The group ran wildly for about half an hour and finally arrived at the entrance of the sect.

As soon as I entered the mountains where the sect lived, I saw the fellow disciples who stayed behind lying on the ground in various postures.

"Ah——" someone screamed, then quickly covered his mouth, tears streaming down his face.

Others either shed silent tears, or stepped back unconsciously with their eyes wide open, or rushed forward, trying to find someone they knew.

Lu Yunxi's master is no exception.

He spotted his disciple lying in the middle and immediately rushed over, grabbing her shoulders with both hands and shaking her vigorously: "Disciple, my good disciple—you died so miserably—"

Lu Yunxi was awakened by the sounds around him.

The crying all around was so deafening that even the dead would be woken up by them.

She opened her eyes in confusion and saw her master crying with tears and snot.

She immediately came to her senses, pushed away her master who was holding her, and took a few steps back in disgust.

"Master, don't smear your snot on me."

The elder, whose eyes were blurred with tears, was stunned for a moment, and after a long while, he took a few steps forward in shock: "You, you are still alive?!"

Lu Yunxi was speechless: "Of course I'm still alive, Master, what are you thinking?! Are you having a nightmare?"

"I thought everyone left in the sect was dead!" He wiped his tears.

"What do you mean 'all dead'? That's too unlucky! We're all alive and well!"

As soon as she said this, everyone who had just returned from outside looked over, their faces full of surprise, as if to say, "Really?"

Lu Yunxi twitched his eyes and was about to say something when he saw the other people who were sleeping gradually waking up.

The people from the sect hugged them, their faces full of joy.

"Puff—I'm going to die. Don't hold on so tightly. I can't breathe!" The fellow disciples who had just fallen asleep almost couldn't breathe.

This time, the sect went out to resist the beast tide, and no one died.

In the sect, everyone was so happy that they held a bonfire party for three consecutive days.

"Go home?" The sect's disciples asked in unison below the main hall.

"Indeed, this beast tide is incredibly severe. Many have slipped past us and made their way into towns and villages. I'm sending you back to your respective hometowns, fearing they might have been affected as well. If there are indeed wild beasts, you'll need to deal with them immediately," the Palace Master on the stage shouted. "Remember to return early. Wild beasts are still wreaking havoc in many areas, and you'll need to clear them out when the time comes."

Lu Yunxi took the reward for clearing the beast tide and returned to his room.

The reward was not much, after all, it was paid by Yanyu Palace itself, but it was not a small amount, a full 50 silvers, plus what the master gave him privately, it added up to 100 silvers.

After counting the rewards, she opened the system panel again and picked up the dried meat that the villagers had given her and started chewing it.

Good job!

She is actually level 67.

It turned out that the hard work of nearly a month was not in vain. I leveled up from level 50 to level 67, which is more than ten levels in a row!
