A fight broke out among the group, and even though Niu San's group was aggressive, they quickly lost ground.
Most of the bandits had blood on their hands and had participated in the massacre of villagers. They were all very fierce and were about to injure one of the workers at the earthen kiln.
The man holding the brick suddenly closed his eyes. Just when he thought he was about to be splattered with blood, the bandit opposite him let out a muffled groan.
Suddenly, a fiery snake emerged from the deep forest, its fiery scales incredibly lifelike. Its long body tightly constricted the bandit opposite it, and within seconds, the bandit stopped breathing and collapsed to the ground.
The situation here stunned everyone. How could there be a long snake burning with flames in the mountains and forests?
Seeing that the long snake abandoned the bandit who had collapsed to the ground and rushed towards the brothers next to it, even Guangping, the leader, held his breath.
"Kill this snake quickly!" Guangping's heart pounded. Faced with this strange creature, he had only one thought in his mind: he had to kill this fire snake!
Only when the fire snake disappears can he continue to control the more than five hundred bandits behind him!
A group of bandits, their hearts pounding with fear, rushed forward, brandishing their curved knives, and began hacking at the fiery snake.
With a clanging sound, the fire gradually died down, leaving a charred patch on the ground.
Guangping, who was in charge, finally breathed a sigh of relief. The fact that they could handle the fire serpent was the best news for them!
If it's truly some kind of supernatural being that can't be killed no matter how you try to cut it, then that's a real problem!
Just as all the bandits smiled and charged back at the kiln workers, a light suddenly shone around them.
Thirty or forty fiery snakes rushed out of the forest and pounced on the swarming band of bandits.
Guangping's eyes widened instantly, his face filled with disbelief.
How is that possible? Didn't they already eliminate one? How come so many more have come?
One fire serpent is already incredibly powerful; if so many suddenly appear, everyone is doomed!
"Quickly, put out all these fire snakes!" he cried in terror.
A group of people also wanted to kill these fire snakes, but this time the fire snakes were not afraid of any blades at all. Even if they were cut in half, they could immediately close up and form a new fire snake.
Only then did the bandits here fully realize that the fire snake they had killed earlier was just a trick by the enemy to deceive them!
In this deep mountain forest, at the middle of the night, a group of fire snakes suddenly appeared, darting around like will-o'-the-wisps. The bandits were completely disoriented and desperately fled in all directions.
Guangping was filled with regret. He should have asked around more about this place. He had heard that there was a mountain goddess worshipped in the desolate mountains. He hadn't believed it before, but now he truly witnessed the power of the gods!
This must be the Mountain Goddess's punishment for them!
"Go!" Guangping waved frantically, signaling his group of brothers to leave.
However, having already entered the desolate mountains, and having come with malice, how could they possibly leave so easily?
After the fire serpents rushed over, a group of believers with special abilities who were hiding in the forest also rushed over eagerly.
Some people can turn into statues and walk right past the bandits, who are then smashed and scream in pain.
Some people gained the ability to hit the bullseye every time, and countless arrows flew over, each one accurately piercing the chest of the bandits.
With a group of brothers holding them off, Guangping finally managed to break through, but the ground suddenly caved in, wiping out all the bandits.
In less than ten minutes, all five hundred bandits were rendered incapable of fighting. The bandit leader, Guangping, was dazed and still couldn't believe what had happened.
"What are you all standing there for? Tie these people up, whether they're dead or not, take them all away." Cui Ying jumped down from the tree, and a group of fire snakes eagerly crawled back, merging into a ball of flame in her hand.
Even if they die, they cannot be buried in the barren mountains. This is the territory of the Mountain Goddess; it's too unlucky!
As soon as he finished speaking, the group of kiln workers were still stunned. They blinked and didn't react for a long time.
Finally, it was Niu San's loud voice that broke the silence.
"Okay, okay, we'll tie up these bandits and take them back right away, making sure not a single one is missing!"
Goodness gracious! These people in the desolate mountains are truly amazing! No wonder they are followers of the Mountain Goddess; these abilities are simply beyond human capabilities!
It turns out that the Mountain Goddess was not some benevolent person, but a true deity! What virtue or ability did they possess to receive the favor of a deity?
No wonder those potatoes, sweet potatoes, and corn taste so good; they must be food bestowed by the gods!
Niu San was strong, so he tied the bandit leader up tightly and then threw him onto his back.
As they descended the mountain, each man carried one or two people on his back. Like some of the more conscious bandits, this group all appeared dazed and confused.
Suddenly, one of the men remembered that a few days ago, a woman from the Zhang family came to spread the word, asking several of the hardest-working people if they were willing to become believers of the Mountain Goddess.
There are three spots available in Linjia Village, and Chai Ming is one of them.
However, after becoming a believer, one needs to go to the temple in the desolate mountains to worship every three days.
At the time, Chai Ming felt that instead of wasting this time, he might as well fire more bricks here and earn more copper coins to save some money for his family.
Looking back now, Chai Ming deeply regrets his actions.
"I'm so damn stupid! How could I have turned down such a great opportunity?"
Chai Ming wished he could gouge his own eyes out. How could he be so blind?
