Chapter 241 Consort Shu Delivers Medicine

I'm so regretful!

If they knew this would happen, why did they even bother to speak out?

Now, not only have they failed to please Shangguan, they have also offended the powerful forces of the desolate mountains who hold real power and whom even Consort Shu has to win over!

It's all over! Utterly over!

What awaits them is likely only the cold, damp cells of the capital's imperial prison...

The guards showed no mercy and dragged them out of the Imperial Hospital gates, their cries of agony fading into the distance.

Inside the courtyard, a deathly silence returned once more.

The way all the imperial physicians who remained looked at Liang Shu had completely changed.

Awe, fear, and a touch of indescribable complexity.

Among the crowd, Shangguan Qing, the head of the Imperial Medical Academy, stood with his hands behind his back, silent.

His white beard trembled slightly, and a barely perceptible cold light flickered deep within his cloudy eyes.

Even though his trusted disciples behind him showed obvious resentment and wanted to speak, he stopped them with his eyes.

Shangguan Qing picked up the iced tea on the table, took a sip, and the calm he had maintained on his face finally disappeared, replaced by disdain.

"snort!"

He slammed the teacup down with a thud.

"This is utterly absurd! Utterly absurd!"

He let out a cold laugh.

"I am still the mountain god of that desolate mountain. I saved the flood. What a compassionate and powerful true god I am!"

"Who would have thought that they would be so lenient with their believers, so lawless!"

"A mere young girl, having arbitrarily set up a few rules, dares to boss people around in the Imperial Hospital, treating our decades of experience as nothing!"

"Ventilation? Disinfection? Wearing masks? Frequent handwashing? That's utterly ridiculous!"

"How could such childish tricks possibly deal with the dangers of a plague?"

Shangguan Qing grew increasingly angry as he thought about it, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes.

"I'd like to see!"

"Look at you people from the desolate mountains! What extraordinary abilities do you think you have in the face of this raging new plague?"

"How can we save the people of this world!"

He squinted, leaned back in his chair, his expression angry and his eyes cold.
