Chapter 25 Stealing Faith

The villagers fell silent, and Old Lady Gongsun subconsciously touched her brow.

The green light had not completely disappeared, and she could clearly feel that her ailing body had become lighter, and even her breathing was much smoother than before.

That's not all. Suddenly, Grandma Gongsun felt that her senses had become more acute than before, and she could even sense the emotions of some animals and plants.

"Second brother, lift your foot up and get out of the way!"

Lin Li was confused and felt a little wronged, but he still stepped over to the side.

The group glanced over discreetly and noticed that Lin Li had stepped on a wild wheat seedling. After the foot was removed, the seedling was trembling and stretching its body.

After carefully assessing the situation, Grandma Gongsun asked the men carrying buckets up the mountain to come over and water the plants. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.

"Mother, what's wrong?" Lin Lizheng was still very puzzled.

Grandma Gongsun simply nodded slightly and did not answer immediately. She turned to look at her eldest son beside her.

"Mother, I feel much lighter," Grandpa Lin said hesitantly.

"It feels like I could fly up there with a single leap."

With a gentle tiptoe, Grandpa Lin actually levitated.

He looked down at the villagers below and was startled. He lost control of his powers and fell straight down.

Wu Deyun, who was below, noticed this and ran over quickly to catch the old man.

However, he was too far away to get there quickly.

The next second, it was as if Grandpa Lin was suddenly frozen in place by a force, and he slowly fell down.

"Thank you, Goddess of the Mountain, for saving me!" He knelt down with a thud, his tone sincere.

Upon seeing this, the villagers of Linjia Village were completely outraged.

"Ancestor, what's going on?"

"How come you can fly? Did you receive abilities bestowed upon you by the Mountain Goddess?"

"Mountain Goddess, please grant us this magical ability as well!"

A group of villagers from Linjia Village knelt down in a rush.

The villagers who had been whispering amongst themselves were now pale with fright. The Mountain Goddess was omnipotent and could even bestow such powerful abilities, so how could she not have heard their conversation?

"Great-Grandpa, how did you float up just now? That was so cool!" This was a younger member of the Lin family jumping up and down.

Grandma Gongsun and Grandpa Lin subconsciously looked in the direction of the statue.

This time, however, the Mountain Goddess did not speak. Instead, Lin Anniang led the two children to the front and gave them instructions.

"The abilities that our ancestor and great-uncle just gained were indeed bestowed by the Mountain Goddess."

"As long as you wholeheartedly believe in the Mountain Goddess and pray to her every day, you may also have the opportunity to obtain the magical abilities of our ancestors or me."

Lin Anniang kicked a large rock to pieces in front of everyone, and the two little maids next to her took the broken stones and crushed them into powder in their hands.

Ning Xiangqiao didn't show off her abilities; she simply squeezed her daughter's hand gently.

The girl, her eyes wide open, giggled. She waved her little hand, and a weed next to her grew wildly, using its supple body to suddenly lash out at the stone beside her.

Soon, a crack appeared in the stone.

A group of villagers from Linjia Village saw it and were both terrified and filled with longing.

"Ancestor, Madam An, is it alright if we just worship the Mountain Goddess?"

"Is there anything else you need me to do? I'm quite good at carpentry, and I can recarve a wooden statue of the Mountain Goddess. If you're looking to replace a statue, I'll definitely take on that task!"

Carpenter Wu, his face flushed with excitement, squeezed to the front and shouted.

The others also revealed their own strengths.

"My brothers and I all know how to build houses, and we can rebuild the Mountain Goddess Temple. If you need to rebuild the Mountain God Temple, be sure to come and find me!"

"My parents and I all know how to make pottery..."

A group of people were talking all at once, as if they wanted to stay kneeling forever.

Based on the predictions of our ancestors, various disasters are likely to occur in the future. Only by acquiring such an ability can we protect ourselves!

Amidst the chaotic sounds, Old Lady Gongsun roared once more.

"Quiet!"

"Didn't Madam An say that as long as you have enough trust in the Mountain Goddess, you all have the opportunity to obtain various abilities?"

Instead of just shouting here, why don't you think carefully about why only the boss and I have acquired this ability?

Grandma Gongsun saw things very clearly. Although this group of people had come along, they were mainly intimidated by her authority, and not many of them truly had any reverence for the Mountain Goddess.

That's why only she and her eldest son received the power bestowed by the Mountain Goddess!

The group's faces immediately turned awkward. They had never heard of the mountain god temple here, nor had they witnessed any miracles, so naturally they didn't trust it too much.

Everyone looked at each other, filled with regret.

"Alright, Madam An has already said that you still have a chance. Now, try your best to perform!"

Grandma Gongsun had a premonition that even if wars and various disasters occurred in the coming years, the people of Linjia Village would be able to survive!

With such a powerful mountain goddess protecting them, even those rebels wouldn't dare to come over easily, right?

Thinking of this, even though she was over a hundred years old, Grandma Gongsun was still full of energy.

However, when her gaze swept over the two young men from the Wu and Zhang families, her heart skipped a beat.
