Chapter 314 The Current State of the Divine Kingdom

Liang Shu nodded, a thoughtful look on her face: "The Northern Barbarian Lands and the Hu Luo Kingdom are indeed a hidden danger. They were so arrogant before, but now they have fallen silent. Something is definitely amiss."

Liang Yu deeply agreed: "Indeed, we should prepare early."

A temple in the desolate mountains.

Yu Luo opened her eyes from her deep sleep.

Her consciousness quickly shifted to the little tree spirit from before.

Suddenly, the surrounding vision went dark, followed by violent shaking, piercing screams, and the panicked cries of various demons.

"Quick! Run!"

"Those guys chasing us are really close!"

"God's Kingdom! Where are the patrols of God's Kingdom?"

The little tree spirit felt its branches and leaves trembling all over.

It struggled to twist its withered trunk, a few tattered leaves drooping listlessly, and there were many scorch marks on its body.

Along with it, several strange and grotesque demons also fled.

They were all in a sorry state, with missing limbs being common, and some were barely clinging to life.

"Damn it! We almost didn't make it back! Those mountain god followers in Liang Kingdom are terrifying!" a scorpion demon with a missing claw hissed, his voice filled with fear.

Just then, a series of neat, metallic footsteps came from ahead.

"They're our own people!" a wolf demon, still ferocious despite having several arrows stuck in its body, exclaimed with delight. "It's the Skeleton Guard of the Divine Kingdom!"

Sure enough, not far away, a squad of skeleton soldiers clad in bone armor and wielding bone blades stood menacingly, their empty eye sockets gleaming with eerie blue soul fire.

"My lord! Help!" The wolf demon scrambled forward, crying out, "We were sent by the Blood God to Liang Kingdom to gather information! We've been ambushed!"

The leading skeleton captain had thicker bones and a more intense soul fire than ordinary skeletons.

It glanced indifferently at the group of defeated soldiers.

"Hmph, a bunch of useless trash." The skeleton captain said in a dry voice, "They can't even handle this small matter, and they've lost so many men."

Despite their unfriendly tone, the Skull Guards still came to their aid.

The little tree spirit, following this group of evil spirits, finally stepped into the divine realm.

A sinister and oppressive atmosphere swept over us.

The air was thick with the smell of decay and death, a stark contrast to the vibrant life of the barren mountains.

Looking around, the entire kingdom was filled with skeleton soldiers clad in bone armor and wielding bone blades, patrolling everywhere.

Occasionally, one could see a few demons of other races. Those lesser demons were in a hurry, their faces full of fear, and they had a meek and submissive appearance.

"What happened? How did the divine kingdom become like this?" a snake demon who had managed to escape whispered, his eyes full of confusion.

"When I left, although Lord Skeleton God was quite powerful, Lord Blood God, Lord Wolf God, and several other lords were also capable of standing on equal footing..."

Upon hearing this, a skeleton responsible for guiding them to register their injuries emitted a grinding sound, and a ghostly blue flame suddenly blazed brightly.

"Shh! Keep your voices down!" Another injured fox demon, who seemed to be more well-informed, quickly stopped them. "You don't know yet, do you?"

"Know what?" The little tree spirit shook its few remaining leaves.

The fox demon lowered its voice and whispered furtively, "Both the Blood God and the Wolf God suffered great losses in the Liang Kingdom. The Blood God was even crushed by the Mountain God of the Wilderness with a single hand. Now both gods are severely weakened and have no energy left to deal with these matters."

"What?!" The demons were shocked.

"So!" the fox demon continued, "Right now, the Skeleton God is the sole ruler of the divine kingdom. Mention those two, or you might get captured by the Skeleton Guard and made into bone fertilizer!"

The little tree spirit and its few companions who had managed to escape were terrified. They looked at each other in dismay, not daring to even breathe loudly.

They originally intended to visit their own gods and report their tragic experiences on this journey.

As a result, they were told directly that the deity they worshipped was in seclusion and would not see any visitors.

The group of evil spirits were sent back to their respective lairs by the arrogant skeleton guards before they even had a chance to meet their respective gods.

The little tree spirit dragged its exhausted body back to its treehouse, looking somewhat lost.

The Blood God and the Wolf God are both in seclusion, leaving only the Skeleton God to maintain order in the divine kingdom. Will these lesser demons still be able to survive in this country?

Do we have to leave this place called God's Kingdom?

But besides the Kingdom of God, which other country could accommodate them?

The little tree spirit pondered this in a daze for a long time.

Just as it was about to fall asleep, a clear and majestic voice suddenly rang out in its mind.

"Tree demon."

The little tree spirit jolted awake instantly!

It's that terrifying mountain god of Liang!

"Take this opportunity to explore the entire Divine Kingdom." Yu Luo's voice was devoid of any emotion.

"Yes!" The little tree spirit straightened its withered trunk and stretched out its tattered leaves, responding respectfully.

It dared not be negligent in the slightest, and immediately stood up unsteadily, heading towards the demonic and evil-infested areas deep within the divine kingdom.

As the little tree spirit moved, the scene that Yu Luo could see through the token became clearer and clearer, and he could even faintly hear some subtle conversations around him.

"Sigh, the boss made us go and urge those new recruits to get to work again." Several little demons, covered in mud and looking like puddles of mud, were huddled together complaining.

"Don't even mention it!" another mud sprite spat. "Those guys are all incredibly lazy, always complaining of being tired, and always getting sick. They're more delicate than us mud sprites!"

"Exactly! They're already complaining about carrying some stones for the Skull Castle, it's much faster if we do it ourselves!"

"I don't know where the gods got such a bunch of useless trash! They can't do anything right, and they eat everything!"

Upon hearing this, Yu Luo's heart stirred slightly.

Lazy, prone to illness, unable to do heavy work...

This description sounds exactly like something out of a modern time traveler's story!

It seems this divine kingdom has captured quite a few.

The little tree spirit swayed its branches silently; it was a plant-based evil spirit with a faint aura.

As long as demonic power is not used, it is easy to be ignored.

It followed behind the few complaining little mud sprites.

After winding and turning, the few mud demons, cursing and swearing, arrived in front of a huge castle built entirely of white bones.

At the castle gate, even more elite skeleton guards stood watch.

The little tree spirit dared not get too close, and could only stop at a distance behind a patch of withered bushes, observing quietly.
