Chapter 319 Divine Kingdom Construction Site

Meanwhile, a territory shrouded in gloom.

Kingdom of Gods.

A short, thin tree spirit, its entire body the color of withered wood, was leading several figures, its short legs carrying it along.

Following closely behind were several skeleton soldiers clad in pale white bone armor.

These are all transmigrators who were transformed.

They were sneaking towards the location mentioned earlier.

Before long, they found the place.

Suddenly, a vast construction site opened up before us!

Countless figures worked among them, like a swarm of ants.

There are both local natives and transmigrators with bitter expressions.

Looking around, some time travelers were carrying heavy boulders on their shoulders and in their hands, transporting them to their designated locations.

Some time travelers, carrying simple tools, solemnly measured the foundation, proceeding with utmost care.

Several engineers who were also time travelers and wore glasses were gathered around rough blueprints, quickly sketching and modifying something with charcoal pencils.

A sense of oppression permeated the entire construction site, with dull thuds and the scraping of tools echoing throughout.

These people worked diligently every moment, but the skeleton soldiers supervising them remained relentless.

The lead skeleton soldier wielded a bone whip, which he would occasionally and viciously lash out at the laborers.

"Hurry up, all of you!" a skeleton soldier captain roared. "Make sure you move quickly!"

"If you delay the palace of the Great Skeleton God, you will all die!"

The transmigrators who were beaten trembled all over, their faces drained of color, and their pent-up resentment was almost overflowing.

However, they could only suppress their emotions and nod meekly, "Yes, yes, sir, we will do our best to build the most luxurious palace!"

After those fierce-looking skeleton soldiers patrolled to a slightly more distant place.

Only when the group of transmigrators working together dared to catch their breath did they lower their voices and whisper among themselves.

A middle-aged engineer with cracked glasses perched on his nose spoke in a hoarse voice: "This life is unbearable!"

His face was full of worry, and his eyes were bloodshot: "Tell me, once this damned palace is built, will any of us still be alive?"

A lawyer with short hair and sharp eyes next to him shook his head in despair upon hearing this.

She gave a bitter smile: "Leave? How can I leave?"

"Look at this divine kingdom, it's heavily guarded, and there are these walking skeleton soldiers everywhere!"

“Unless you play dead,” she paused, her tone even more helpless, “but now, even playing dead isn’t very effective anymore. If you’re discovered, you’re doomed. If you’re not discovered, you might just be thrown into the crematorium!”

Upon hearing this, everyone sighed deeply, their brows furrowed with sorrow as thick as ink that could not be dissolved.

"Ugh, I must have had the worst luck in eight lifetimes to have transmigrated to this godforsaken place!"

"I used to dream of time travel, thinking I could command the wind and rain, have a harem of wives and concubines, and achieve great things!"

"And now? I've actually traveled back in time, and all I think about is how to go back, even if it's just to be a corporate slave!"

Across from him, a somewhat rebellious and unruly teenager, now looked sallow from hunger and became even more dejected upon hearing this.

He murmured, "Yeah, I used to always go against my parents, thinking they were nagging and nosy."

"I always thought that after I traveled through time, I could get rid of them, dominate the world, reach the pinnacle of life, and marry a rich and beautiful woman!"

"But what about now?" The boy slammed his fist into the mound of earth beside him, tears welling in his eyes. "I just transmigrated here, and I feel like my life is over! Peak? It's hard to even survive!"

Just then, the little tree spirit, along with the several skeleton-like transmigrators behind it, quietly walked to a sentry post near the edge of the construction site.

The skeleton soldiers on guard immediately looked over warily, their bone jaws clicking as they opened and closed.

One of the leading skeleton soldiers stepped forward, its empty eye sockets glowing with eerie blue soul fire, and demanded in a deep voice, "Halt! Which team are you from?"

The little tree spirit's heart skipped a beat. What he feared most were these skeleton soldiers, each one of them looking terrifying!

While the little tree spirit was feeling uneasy, two transmigrators who had turned into skeletons immediately stepped forward.

"We're here to help. We heard there are some particularly arrogant humans here. His Majesty the Skeleton God sent us to come and teach these blind fools a lesson!"

"You continue your patrol. Leave this to us. Don't delay His Majesty the Skeleton God's palace. Can you handle the consequences?"

Hearing this, the skeleton soldiers on the other side actually believed it, since no skeleton would joke about the Skeleton God.

"Alright, then you guys go ahead. You really need to teach these lazy humans a lesson!" The skeleton soldier waved his hand and turned to leave.

As the group of skeleton soldiers walked further and further away, the little tree left behind looked on with admiration. They'd fooled these skeletons so easily; they were truly amazing!

"Alright, we can't delay any longer, let's go take a look!"

The disguised skeletons immediately took off running towards the construction site.

In a corner of the construction site, the female lawyer who had just spoken stared blankly ahead, subconsciously reaching out her hand.

What is that?

Several skeletons ran in a white line, making it look like they were rushing to be reincarnated.

In the blink of an eye, these skeletons arrived, picked them up, and ran off.

Female lawyer: "!!!!"
