Barbarian Kingdom, branch of the Holy Physician Hall.
In the dimly lit stone chamber, only a few ever-burning lamps emitted a faint green light, which illuminated everyone's faces, making them appear sickly pale.
Xuan Qi gathered several transmigrators she considered to be able to communicate with.
"I went to Tianyu Mountain."
She got straight to the point.
One of the time travelers, dressed in faded close-fitting clothes, leaned against the stone wall with his arms crossed, and chuckled upon hearing this.
"Oh, our Inspector is back? What, did you get devoured alive by that evil god during your inspection of the enemy camp?"
His words were laced with his usual sarcasm.
Li Mei, standing next to her, was wearing a simple cloth dress and looked timid, nervously twisting the hem of her clothes.
"Seventh Sister Xuan, is it really that dangerous there?"
Xuan Qi ignored Wang Jun's sarcasm and her gaze swept over everyone present.
Including Zhao Ming, the taciturn programmer who always keeps his head down in the corner.
"That's not hell."
Xuan Qi took a deep breath, trying to suppress his surging emotions.
"They have fried chicken, kebabs, and bubble tea there, just like the night market back home!"
"What?"
Li Mei's eyes lit up instantly.
Wang Jun's expression froze for a moment, then he resumed his nonchalant demeanor.
"Ha, just a little trick to win people over. A few small favors and you're already this moved?"
No!
Xuan Qi retorted hastily.
"There's a village built by our own people there, called Flower Planting Village! Everyone helps each other, just like family!"
"They have physics PhDs researching natural disasters, agronomists cultivating rice yields of thousands of kilograms per acre, and county magistrates who have transformed their jurisdictions into paradises that everyone longs for!"
"That's not an evil god, that's a true deity who protects all living beings! We've all been deceived!"
Her words resonated powerfully, echoing in the oppressive stone chamber.
Li Mei's eyes were already filled with longing.
Wang Jun frowned deeply, as if he was thinking about something.
Only Zhao Ming kept his head down, a cold glint flashing in his eyes behind his glasses.
Suddenly, the door to the stone chamber was flung open.
"Xuan Qi! How dare you!"
A sharp shout rang out.
A dozen or so medical envoys dressed in pure white robes rushed in, their faces expressionless, holding long swords that gleamed with a cold light.
The leading envoy stared intently at Xuan Qi.
"How dare you spread heresy and undermine our faith! Seize him!"
Xuan Qi's face turned deathly pale instantly.
She suddenly looked at Zhao Ming in the corner.
Zhao Ming slowly raised his head and gave her a smile.
"I'm sorry, but in order to go home, I have no choice but to choose the God of Healing."
"traitor!"
Wang Jun roared and was the first to rush forward, punching one of the messengers.
But the messenger merely shifted his body slightly, and the silver needle in his hand, like a poisonous bee, fiercely pierced Wang Jun's ribs.
The battle erupted instantly.
Xuan Qi drew out her semi-transparent card, and as the light flashed, a wind blade appeared out of thin air, slashing towards the envoy at the front.
However, the opposing side had superior numbers and excellent teamwork.
Strands of black energy surged from their bodies, transforming into chains that coiled around Xuan Qi.
"Pfft!"
A long knife slashed her back, leaving a deep wound that exposed the bone.
Xuan Qi let out a muffled groan, and blood instantly stained her clothes.
With her last bit of strength, she threw the card to the ground.
"burst!"
A blinding burst of light temporarily obscured everyone's view.
Xuan Qi staggered and desperately rushed out of the stone chamber, fleeing madly towards Tianyu Mountain.
Behind them came the cold laughter of the leading envoy.
"Run! Run!"
"Do you think that place is still a pure land? Traitor, no matter where you flee, you will eventually be bathed in the glory of my God!"
"Tianyu Mountain will soon be ours too!"
…
The night in the woods was cold and damp.
Xuan Qi leaned against a rough tree trunk, panting heavily.
The wound on her back burned with pain, and the excessive blood loss made her vision blur.
She dared not stop, and she dared not go to anyone.
She is a traitor.
She completely diverted the attention of the God of Healing to those time travelers.
How could she possibly face them?
Just as my consciousness was fading, a gentle voice, accompanied by soft footsteps, rang out not far away.
"I knew you might be hiding here."
Xuan Qi suddenly opened her eyes and saw the only face she could think of in her despair.
Tong Yiwen, dressed in a pristine white doctor's coat and wearing frameless glasses, stood a few steps away, carrying a medical kit. The moonlight bathed her, making her appear as gentle as an angel.
"you……"
Xuan Qi's throat was dry, and he couldn't utter a single word.
Tong Yiwen didn't ask any questions. She quickly walked over, squatted down, and skillfully opened the first-aid kit.
"Don't move, the wound is deep and needs immediate treatment."
Her movements were gentle yet professional; she cleaned the wound, applied medicine, and bandaged it all in one smooth motion.
The cool ointment touched the wound, bringing a soothing coolness.
Xuan Qi could no longer hold back her tears, which slid down her cheeks.
"I'm sorry, I'm from the barbarian lands..."
Her voice was hoarse and filled with self-loathing.
"I am the enemy, I have caused you trouble..."
Tong Yiwen paused in her bandaging motion.
She raised her head and looked at Xuan Qi, her eyes clear and firm.
