Chapter 53 Formed from Resentment

The newly arrived constables were all shocked as they watched Lin Anniang stack one wooden coffin after another with ease, as if she were building toys.

The series of events that happened today were all too unbelievable. The constables' minds were completely blank, and they were all stunned in place.

Only Magistrate Xu Rurong jumped up instantly, rushed to the other party's side, and stared wide-eyed with her clear eyes.

Lin Anniang remembered that he was the new magistrate of Huang County, so she did not ignore him but nodded slightly.

"Greetings, Your Excellency."

Xu Rurong didn't even realize that the person was calling her; she was still staring in shock at the wooden coffins.

"Your Excellency, please step aside. I still need to carry other wooden coffins." Lin Anniang felt that these eyes were very similar to her daughter's.

"Okay, okay." Xu Rurong subconsciously stepped back, watching Lin Anniang's figure grow smaller and smaller in the distance.

He finally realized what was happening, rushed over, and waved to Lin Anniang as she walked away.

"Heroine, you must come back again! I still want to learn from you!"

Lin Anniang had excellent hearing, and when she heard the county magistrate say that he wanted to learn from her, she almost stumbled.

Fortunately, she quickly got away, otherwise she would have questioned the meaning of life.

While Xu Rurong was still feeling excited, she saw an old man peek in.

Luo Yong recognized him immediately; this was the "homeless" old man. If those little monsters rushed out, this old man would definitely be the first to be hit.

Before he could even show a relieved expression, he saw the old man rub his hands together and ask Cui Ying, "Are all the wooden coffins that the Mountain Goddess asked us to bring here?"

Cui Ying nodded, and Grandpa Lin breathed a sigh of relief and quickly raised his hands.

The remaining part of the wooden coffin floated up into the air and gradually flew to the old man's side, moving further and further away from him.

"You can continue your investigation. More people will be coming, and they will take all these wooden coffins back with them."

Grandpa Lin left everyone with a mysterious silhouette as he slowly disappeared into the distance.

Next, several more women appeared. Some of these women had wings on their backs, some came directly through the wall, and some pulled part of the wooden coffin into the shadows.

Within a short period of time, all the wooden coffins disappeared. If it weren't for these pits, everyone would have thought that nothing had happened.

Xu Rurong was still trying to accept this fantastical world, County Magistrate Chen seemed lost in thought, Luo Yong and a group of constables looked dazed, only Wang Qing was anxious.

"May I ask, what does your mountain goddess need these wooden coffins for?"

Although Wang Qing felt that the mountain goddess had a pair of golden eyes and was very likely a true god, her upbringing and the non-human beings she had encountered were all kinds of demons and evil spirits.

She was genuinely afraid that the mountain goddess would send people to take away the wooden coffin in order to gain power from the remains of these poor women.

Master had encountered similar situations before, and the lessons from those past experiences were still fresh in her mind. Wang Qing was truly anxious.

Now only two followers of the mountain god remain in the courtyard. Liu Xin is still immersed in the ordeal of her childhood friend and has not yet come to her senses.

Cui Ying stepped forward and explained:

"The Mountain Goddess took these wooden coffins away to pray for all the women inside and to bury them in the desolate mountains."

"Otherwise, a body corrupted by demons would easily attract other demons. You all deal with demons, so you should be very clear about this, right?"

Xu Rurong and Luo Yong both subconsciously looked at County Magistrate Chen, who calmly nodded.

“What this lady Ying said is right. A body corrupted by demons is very likely to attract other demons, because demons will devour each other.” As he spoke, Magistrate Chen subconsciously shivered, clearly recalling some unpleasant things.

"You don't need to ask any more questions." Magistrate Chen winked at the two men, desperately trying to signal them with his eyes.

County Magistrate Chen couldn't be sure whether the mountain goddess was a demon or not, but no matter what kind of being she was, even if she was easy to talk to and seemed very kind, one should not provoke her easily!

One goddess who grants children is already terrifying enough; if another mountain goddess comes along, how can the barren county still exist?

Now he only hopes that the other party is truly a benevolent being, and not just putting on a show to deceive everyone!

“I also know something about clearing away evil spirits and pollution. Maybe I can go and help. Can I go and take a look?” Wang Qing couldn’t wait.

She was determined to find out what was going on!

Upon hearing this, County Magistrate Chen nearly fainted. He had thought Luo Yong was already quite reckless, but he hadn't expected someone even more reckless to appear!

Now he can only pray that the little girl's master is an extremely powerful and extraordinary person!

“Aren’t you the officials of Huang County? Since you’re already involved, why don’t you go and take a look together?” Wang Qing turned her gaze to County Magistrate Chen.

She had already realized that the other party's yellow talisman was extraordinary, seemingly belonging to the lineage of her master's mortal enemy.

If something really happens, Wang Qing feels very secure knowing that her master's mortal enemy's faction will take the fall.

County Magistrate Chen pinched his nose hard, barely able to breathe.

“Yes, the Mountain Goddess has already given the order.” Cui Ying’s expression became even more admiring.

Long before, the Mountain Goddess had instructed her to take these people with her if they wanted to go to the desolate mountains. Unexpectedly, this little girl actually brought it up. The Mountain Goddess was indeed a prophet!

Oh no, the Mountain Goddess is a deity!

"Great!" Xu Rurong was also eager to try. Although he had never seen the Mountain Goddess perform the Divine Descent Technique, he couldn't wait to see so many "superpowered individuals".
