The boat broke through the sea of clouds and continued its journey toward the source of the black mist.
Inside the ship's laboratory.
Even though the laboratory was moved, its internal facilities remained intact.
The researchers seemed to have found their life's passion; their eyes shone as they devoted themselves wholeheartedly to studying the new world.
The enormous Shenzhou spacecraft served as their mobile fortress. Whenever they passed through a sea area eroded by black energy, they would deploy specially designed detectors to collect samples of seawater and seabed silt.
Dr. Li adjusted his reading glasses, staring intently at the constantly fluctuating data stream on the screen, muttering to himself.
"Something's not right, this is really not right..."
Beside him, Dr. Chen Jing, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, also frowned, repeatedly checking the analysis results.
"All toxin levels are below normal, even purer than seawater in unpolluted areas."
"How is this possible?"
"The black aura clearly devoured many living beings, and everything withered wherever it passed. Why is it that after it left, this land and sea seemed to be purified?"
This unbelievable conclusion left all the researchers in the lab deep in thought.
Until a young intern pointed to a soil analysis report and stammered out his sentence.
"Dr. Li, Dr. Chen, look at this..."
"The organic matter content in the soil is 30% higher than the most fertile black soil we've ever recorded!"
The air in the entire laboratory seemed to freeze for a moment.
Dr. Li snatched the report, a sharp glint flashing in his cloudy eyes.
He and Chen Jing exchanged a glance and said almost in unison.
"Dark energy, in another sense, possesses the ability to purify!"
"Whether it's physical waste and toxins, or energy-related resentment and death energy, it devours them all!"
"While destroying life, it also turns this land into a fertile blank sheet of paper!"
"This land has undergone a fundamental transformation!"
Lin Anniang and Xia Yan rushed over upon hearing the news, listening to the group of doctors in white coats excitedly explaining about energy enrichment and the rewriting of underlying rules.
Lin Anniang didn't understand a single word. She just scratched her head and asked in the simplest language:
"You mean, crops grow better on land that's been rolled over by that thing?"
Chen Jing paused for a moment, then nodded emphatically.
"That's theoretically true! And the harvest might far exceed our expectations!"
Lin Anniang's eyes lit up instantly.
"So this thing is a treasure!"
She slapped her thigh, her face beaming with joy.
"From now on, wherever the land isn't fertile, let this black mist take a stroll over!"
Xia Yan tugged at her, feeling both amused and exasperated.
“Anniang, the prerequisite is that everyone upstairs has to move out.”
"That's worth it!" Lin Anniang counted on her fingers, "The extra grain is enough for them to carry eight hundred jin home!"
Seeing Lin Anniang's face beaming with the satisfaction of striking it rich, the group of researchers exchanged bewildered glances, suddenly realizing that this woman's line of thinking seemed...
That's not entirely unreasonable.
…
at the same time.
On the shores of the Peacock Kingdom, the eagerly awaiting people finally saw the arrival of the second fleet.
Unlike the magnificent Shenzhou, these dozen or so ships, though also large, had their decks piled high with sacks and wooden crates, exuding a rustic charm.
A burly, dark-skinned man stood at the bow of the boat.
He was none other than Niu San, the manager of the Mountain God Caravan.
"Fellow villagers! The Mountain Goddess is merciful and has specially sent us to deliver emergency supplies!"
Niu San's voice was as loud as a bell, echoing throughout the entire coastline.
"The finest white rice, flour, cotton cloth, ironware! Everything you could want!"
"All goods will be sold at only 80% of the market price in Liang Kingdom!"
The crowd erupted in thunderous cheers, but then some people looked troubled and shouted:
"Sir! All our possessions have been destroyed, and we are penniless. How can we buy anything?"
As soon as he said this, the scene fell silent. Everyone stared at Niu San with longing and unease in their eyes.
Niu San grinned, revealing two rows of big white teeth.
"Who said it has to be silver?"
He patted the side of the boat.
"Those who don't have money, come over and register. We'll let you pay on credit!"
"The Mountain Goddess said that no believer should go hungry!"
The crowd fell silent for a moment, then erupted into chaos.
"Can I pay on credit?"
"My God! The Mountain Goddess is practically a living Bodhisattva!"
After the cheers from Niu San and others subsided slightly, another bombshell announcement was dropped.
"Don't worry, everyone, this is just an emergency!"
"Once this matter is settled, we from the barren mountains will send people here to help build a cement plant and a textile factory!"
"At that time, everyone will have work to do and money to earn! We'll be able to eat white flour buns every day!"
Countless people trembled with excitement. They knelt down again and kowtowed with all their might towards the Shenzhou spacecraft.
Long live the Mountain Goddess!
"We are willing to worship the Mountain Goddess for all eternity!"
…
At the summit of a desolate mountain, inside a temple.
Yu Luo quietly looked at the light screen floating in front of her.
The Shenzhou laboratory and everything that happened on the coast of the Peacock Kingdom were clearly shown above.
When she heard Dr. Li and the others' conclusions, even she showed a hint of surprise in her usually cool eyes.
A tiny, silver-white sprite, about the size of a palm, fluttered on her shoulder, emitting a crisp electronic sound.
[Host! Host! A major discovery!]
[I never knew this black mist had this function! Turning trash into treasure!]
