Chapter 17 Preparation

Qiao Xin was afraid that something might go wrong. She had to remind him again: "Come and meet up with us immediately after you pick us up. Don't go into the city. Wait for us at Liu Ting outside the city. Leave the rest of the things in the house to the village chief and Doctor Zhao." After that, she took out another tael of silver and handed it to him: "Pay off Doctor Zhao's medical expenses. The extra money will be considered interest."

The two brothers quickly agreed. After settling everything, they headed to the village!

Qiao Xin watched them leave the city, then turned around and handed a hundred-liang silver note to Qiao Yunqing: "Let's split up. You drive the carriage to buy rice, flour, dry food and cooked food first, and I'll go buy some shoes, socks, clothes, and bedding nearby." After thinking for a while, she instructed: "Oh, buy more snacks and fruits, don't save money for me."

Qiao Yunqing secretly laughed when she saw her talking with gritted teeth!

Qiao Xin did not go to the silk shop to buy new clothes, but went to the pawnshop. She spent twenty taels to buy two sets of half-worn linen clothes, a jacket and cloth shoes for each family member. Buying ready-made clothes for both the inside and outside of the house was a lot of money for a family of thirteen. Even though Qiao Xin was always generous, she had to be frugal at this time.

When asked, Qiao Xin was devastated. She couldn't afford a silk quilt and the reed quilt was not warm enough.

There are also cotton quilts, yes, there are cotton quilts!

But it is more than twice as expensive as a silk quilt. In desperation, Qiao Xin had to buy a few more reed quilts and furs!

After a long meal, she had almost spent half of her money. The lady boss hadn't met such a generous customer in a long time. When she paid the bill, she generously gave her a rabbit skin.

If you cut a one-foot square piece of rabbit skin, you can make two pairs of gloves for children.

It’s better than nothing. Qiao Xin finally made up for her wasteful behavior today.
