The items were all taller than Yingbao, and Yingbao carried them away from the cart with a bit of a dragging motion.
Yingbao had two large bags of things that were enough for the whole family of four, but she only gave her brother Ye Mingchen a bag of White Rabbit milk candy and didn't take anything else.
One reason is that she wanted her beloved grandmother, aunt, and second aunt to have a good New Year.
After all, she has so many things in her space; it would be a waste not to take them out and make the most of them.
Secondly, because her family can take it out whenever they want to eat it.
"Yingbao, what's wrong with you? You've blocked yourself!" Aunt Lin Wan rushed over to Yingbao and rescued her.
He carried it out while laughing and saying, "Look at you, so capable, you didn't even ask us for help."
I just saw Yingbao, and she wasn't even as tall as two bags. She was dragging and lifting them, it was so funny.
"Auntie, I was so happy I forgot!" Yingbao said in her sweet, childlike voice.
"Okay...okay...okay, as long as Yingbao is happy, anything is fine. Don't forget, even if she wants to climb on the roof and tear off the tiles, that's fine too," Wang Cuihua said indulgently.
Aunt Lin Wan and Aunt Zhou Xiayun smiled faintly, inwardly agreeing.
Why?
You know, none of their sons were as favored as Yingbao.
Firstly, because Yingbao was born and grew up drinking their milk, and she was a little girl, while all the other children in their family were boys, so they cherished her from the bottom of their hearts.
Boys are no match for girls. They are women themselves and long to have a daughter, to dress her up beautifully. Unfortunately, Lin Wan is not destined for that.
Her sister-in-law, Zhou Xiayun, was more farsighted. She gave birth to two boys, and it seemed as if she knew she couldn't have any more children, so she stopped having them. Unlike Lin Wan, who longed for a baby girl and endured the excruciating pain of childbirth, she gave birth to three boys.
The last time she gave birth, it finally extinguished her desire for a daughter. Knowing that she couldn't have another child no matter what she tried, she stopped trying.
It wasn't until she saw Yingbao born that Lin Wan's desire to have a daughter was rekindled. If it weren't for her husband asking her what would happen if she had another son, she would have been in a different situation.
She might really not think things through, forget the pain of childbirth, and do it again.
The thought of that scene—hoping for a daughter but having a son who would annoy her every day—made her decide to give up.
After all, having Yingbao as a niece is not bad.
Can't a niece be raised as a daughter?
...
"Yingbao, where did your mother go? I haven't seen her since I came back," asked Aunt Zhou Xiayun.
Just as Yingbao was about to return to her second aunt's house, unaware of what was happening, Wang Yitong returned carrying a basin of freshly washed pig offal...
Alright, now she doesn't need to answer.
So Yingbao acted as a messenger and said, "Mother, Second Aunt seems to want to talk to you about something?"
Upon hearing this, Wang Yitong secretly wondered what could be so important that her second sister-in-law would call her, but she smiled and said to Zhou Xiayun, "Second sister-in-law, what brings you here?"
"Yitong'er, your second sister-in-law would like to use that picture book you drew before, to take a look and think about making some clothes for Yuezhou and Yingbao, is that alright?" Zhou Xiaoyun said politely.
While scooping water into the basin to wash her hands, Wang Yitong said, "What's wrong with this? I'll get it for you from my room in a bit."
Yingbao glanced at the chatter between her mother, Wang Yitong, and her second aunt, Zhou Xiayun, and found it boring. So she prepared to go and help her eldest aunt, Lin Wan, pack up the two large sacks of things she had brought back.
