As Ye Ying spoke, she casually tidied her slightly messy hair, as if this action had become a daily habit: "Successfully eliminating such a large python this time can be considered a test for ourselves."
However, Ji Wuchen stroked his chin and muttered to himself, "Yes, Ying'er, you're right... But, for some reason, I always feel that things aren't that simple."
Teacher Ji Wuchen's voice carried a hint of doubt.
Upon hearing this, Ye Ying frowned and asked, "Do you think there are other dangers?"
Her eyes were filled with complexity and worry.
Ji Wuchen suddenly stood up, his eyes as firm as stone, as if he were challenging an unknown danger: "Maybe, who knows. But no matter what, we can't let our guard down for a second in the process ahead."
After saying that, Ji Wuchen suggested that they rest for a while before continuing to explore the secrets hidden here.
Ye Ying nodded in agreement. She knew that in this area... in this place full of mysterious mechanisms, any change could come suddenly like a storm.
The two found a relatively quiet corner, as if they had found a safe haven, and quietly recovered their strength.
After resting for a while, Ye Ying, Ji Wuchen, and the little white fox Tianyao continued to carefully flip through the books in the bookstore—a sea of books. Their steps were as light as cats, and their fingers as soft as cotton, as if they were afraid of disturbing some kind of power in this mysterious world or tearing the books apart.
Ye Ying, Ji Wuchen, Little White Fox Tianyao, and others... wandered and explored this mysterious and ancient place, keenly sensing that it seemed to hide countless unknown secrets.
Every book on display and every painting hanging in the air seems to be silently telling a story from bygone years.
In a secluded and dark corner, they stumbled upon a tattered old book with strange and mysterious contents about ancient magic recorded on its pages.
Just as they were engrossed in their research, a barely audible, faint sound suddenly drifted into their ears.
Ye Ying instantly became alert. Her sharp eyes scanned her surroundings like those of a hawk, while she gestured to Ji Wuchen to keep quiet. Then, she tiptoed closer and closer to the source of the sound.
Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a tiny, exquisite mouse happily munching on the pages of the book.
Ye Ying felt a little relieved, and her tense nerves relaxed slightly. But just as she was about to turn and leave, she caught a glimpse of a strange red light emanating from the rat's body out of the corner of her eye.
In a flash, she realized that this seemingly ordinary little mouse might very well be the key to unraveling the mystery...
Anyway, Ye Ying thinks there's something wrong with it.
So Ye Ying made a quick decision and quietly reached out to try to catch the mouse.
However, the little guy reacted exceptionally quickly and nimbly, struggling and resisting desperately while making sharp "squeak" sounds from time to time.
Seeing this, Ji Wuchen knew he couldn't let the rat continue squeaking, lest it cause unnecessary trouble. So he quickly stepped forward to help Ye Ying, and tore off a strip of cloth to tightly cover the rat's mouth.
