Chapter 54 The first night without Zhuangzhuang, missing her...

Today is the Lunar New Year, and Jin Zhuangzhuang was taken to Xiaoyue Pavilion to sleep with the Jin family.

Yun Duoduo touched the empty bed next to her; the bedroom was eerily quiet.

The first night without Zhuangzhuang, I miss her...

Her heart felt a little cold; on nights when she missed him, she wished Zhuangzhuang could be by her side.

Besides feeling a bit uncomfortable, she was also worried that Jin Zhuangzhuang's yellow skin and milk rash might be contagious to others.

She noticed Jin Zhuangzhuang's unusual behavior during the banquet.

She would occasionally squirm in Xun Yunge's arms, presumably because her rash was itchy.

These days she has been feeding Jin Zhuangzhuang medicine to treat his yellow skin and milk rash, but it takes time for the skin disease to improve, and even medicine cannot cure the disease in a day. Although his condition has improved, he has not yet recovered.

If Madam Jin or General Jin bathes Zhuangzhuang or has close contact with him, even though adults have stronger resistance, they are not completely immune to infection.

Oh dear, what should we do?

She was a little worried and scratched her bald head, which had hardly any hair.

It's not appropriate to separate families on New Year's Eve, so we had someone bring Jin Zhuangzhuang over. Besides, she can't speak and can't order anyone to do anything.

But if the disease really spreads to Madam Jin and General Jin, she has no way to save them.

If someone were to discover that an infant was being given medicine, specifically pills of unknown origin that didn't exist in ancient times, they would surely accuse her of being a malevolent witch.

At that point, she won't be able to clear her name even if she jumps into the Yellow River.

Zhuangzhuang, come back soon...

This time I'm really in trouble.

Yun Duoduo is having trouble sleeping; she's a baby less than 100 days old.

Indeed, insomnia and anxiety are related, regardless of age or location.

Anxiety is truly a powerful emotion that can dominate one's mind regardless of time or space.

Right now, she longs to go back to school and attend a math class: odd numbers change, even numbers remain the same, sign depends on quadrant; the circumference of an ellipse is equal to its minor semi-axis; when a > 0, the parabola opens upwards; when a < 0, the parabola opens downwards…

These theorems, formulas, and mnemonics can cure her insomnia in no time.

As Yun Duoduo was counting sheep with her eyes closed, she heard a creak as the bedroom door was pushed open.

Xun Yunge carried Jin Zhuangzhuang and tiptoed in, followed by Jin Jinzhi.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with Zhuangzhuang, he cried all night.” Xun Yunge placed Jin Zhuangzhuang next to Yun Duoduo. Yun Duoduo blinked at Xun Yunge, then tugged at Jin Zhuangzhuang’s hand.

Looking at Yun Duoduo, Jin Zhuangzhuang, who had been teary-eyed, immediately stopped crying and a smile appeared on his face, which was covered with tears and snot.

"Mother, see what I told you?" Jin Jinzhi smiled as she wiped away Jin Zhuangzhuang's tears and snot. She had said that her younger sister and the little princess got along very well.

"I really didn't expect Zhuangzhuang to be so attached to the little princess." Xun Yunge was a little surprised. Her own daughter cried and fussed in her arms, but she became well-behaved in front of the little princess.

Yun Duoduo thought to herself, "[She's not just dependent on her; she's probably having an attack and needs medication.]"

Yun Duoduo patted Jin Zhuangzhuang's little hand to reassure her that she would give her medicine soon and the itching would stop.

"Then Mother will return to Xiaoyue Pavilion first. You stay here with the little princess and your sister." Xun Yunge lowered her voice and bent down to kiss Jin Zhuangzhuang.

Seeing Xun Yunge's actions, Yun Duoduo was so frightened that she kicked her legs and slapped Xun Yunge across the face, pushing her mouth away.

Don't kiss me! You might catch a skin disease!

Xun Yunge was startled by Yun Duoduo's sudden action, and Jin Jinzhi was also taken aback.

Yun Duoduo's hand froze in mid-air. She stared at Xun Yunge with her innocent and pure eyes and her harmless, cute, and adorable face.

As long as she's not embarrassed, it's others who are embarrassed.

Xun Yunge put Yun Duoduo's hand back under the covers, shook her head with a helpless smile, covered Yun Duoduo and Jin Zhuangzhuang with small blankets, turned over the charcoal in the incense burner, checked the doors and windows, and then went out.

"Don't worry, Mother, leave this to me," Jin Jinzhi said softly, opening the door for his mother.

[This is truly a social disaster. Hopefully, they won't remember that she once slapped Jin Jinzhi's mother.]

Yun Duoduo closed her eyes and pretended to sleep. She only slowly opened her eyes after Jin Jinzhi blew out the candle.

It was pitch black and she couldn't see anything. It took her a while to adjust before she could barely make out what was in front of her by the moonlight.

She looked around and saw that Jin Jinzhi was already lying on the bed, breathing evenly. She waited for a while and made sure that Jin Jinzhi was asleep before she began to act.

She braced herself against the headboard with her two short hands, sticking her bottom out, and struggled to reach the blanket on the floor with her two short legs. Only after her feet touched the ground did she let go of the bed.

She slowly climbed onto the chair, picked up the water glass, and then slowly climbed back onto the bed. She took out two pills from under the pillow, gave Jin Zhuangzhuang a sip of water, and then gave him the two pills.

"Wah wah!" As soon as Yun Duoduo put the medicine into Jin Zhuangzhuang's mouth, Jin Zhuangzhuang burst into tears.

Zhuang, don't cry!

They're crying! Everyone inside the Fu Shuang Palace has woken up!

Yun Duoduo was so frightened her heart almost jumped out of her chest. If Jin Jinzhi saw her secretly feeding her sister drugs of unknown origin, wouldn't he kill her with a sword?!

She quickly covered Jin Zhuangzhuang's mouth with her two chubby little hands and looked at Jin Jinzhi in a panic.

Upon hearing the sound, Jin Jinzhi suddenly opened his eyes. He looked through the screen at the bed and saw no one else. He only saw Yun Duoduo reaching out her two little arms and grabbing at the sky haphazardly, occasionally making babbling sounds.

[So it was this girl calling out.]

After confirming that no assassins had appeared, he turned over and went back to sleep.

[Wow, thank goodness he didn't see it.]

Yun Duoduo patted her chest.

[But wait, yelling? What kind of word is that? He actually said she was yelling?!]

Yun Duoduo glared angrily at Jin Jinzhi, but clearly this harmless glare had no effect on Jin Jinzhi at all.

[That's enough, a good woman doesn't argue with a man.]

She waited a while longer, until she heard Jin Jinzhi's even breathing, before carefully climbing off the bed and putting the water glass back in its place.

It's so difficult for this little baby to move!

The main problem is that it's too short everywhere, and you can't reach anywhere.

However, after several nighttime operations, Yun Duoduo could clearly feel that her lotus root-like arms and bean sprout-like legs were much more flexible than before.

(An extra chapter today, love you all!)
