Chapter 81 The Night Visitor

After waiting for a long time, nothing happened.

Yun Duoduo looked a little dejected.

Life is tough, and Duoduo sighs.

This first-aid kit is really unreliable!

[It's better to rely on yourself than others. It seems we can't depend too much on the medicine kit to bring her modern Western medicine. We should find out if there are any usable herbs nearby and use what we have.]

Jin Zhuangzhuang couldn't fall asleep. She lay quietly on the bed, sucking her fingers, watching Yun Duoduo bustling around and her ever-changing expressions.

Jin Zhuangzhuang's eyes held no discernible emotion; they seemed to contain a mixture of confusion and bewilderment.

Yun Duoduo stared at the empty space at the foot of the bed, wondering what had gone wrong with the medicine box. [What on earth is going on?]

[Isn't the first-aid kit supposed to be something you do for money?]

[She's already shown such sincerity, offering such a huge sapphire as a tribute to the medicine box, yet it remains completely unmoved and shows no reaction!]

[Could it be that the first-aid kit also has working hours, only eight hours a day, and this is its rest time, so it's closed for business?!]

[It's an emergency! First-aid kit needed! How about we consider working overtime? Pay me...]

There was still no response from the foot of the bed; it seemed the medicine box had rejected her request.

Your friend has gone offline.

Yun Duoduo looked out the window. It was probably around midnight. It was pitch black outside, and she couldn't see anything. She could only use the moonlight, which was sometimes bright and sometimes dim, to see everything inside the house.

However, her eyes had already adapted to the darkness, and now she could see everything in the room clearly.

She looked at Aunt Xiang, who was sleeping on the soft couch beside her. A very long and large scar on her face looked even more eerie under the cold moonlight.

Yun Duoduo felt a pang of sadness in her heart.

Just as they were pondering and busying themselves, the door of Fu Shuang Palace creaked open.

Startled, Yun Duoduo quickly lay back down and covered herself with the embroidered quilt. When she turned her head, she saw Jin Zhuangzhuang staring at her with his small, single-eyelid eyes, which startled her. Yun Duoduo gently patted her quilt, signaling her to go to sleep.

She squinted and stared at the doorway.

Who could be coming so late?

Is someone trying to harm her again?

[It can't be that bad. The palace just captured Consort Ling. Even if someone wanted to harm her, now is definitely not the best time.]

Hearing the sound at the door, Jin Jinzhi, who was sleeping by the door, suddenly sat up in bed. He looked at the door warily and listened carefully to the sounds outside.

Jin Jinzhi was somewhat surprised when she saw the person who came.

The Third Prince, Yun Yishu, shuffled in with his plump body, his eyes glazed and his movements stiff.

Jin Jinzhi looked puzzled. "What's this guy doing here in the middle of the night?"

Jin Jinzhi did not stop Yun Yishu. He noticed that Yun Yishu's condition was a bit strange, so he gripped his sword tightly and observed him carefully.

Yun Yishu walked to Yun Duoduo's bedside and stopped near the table.

Jin Jin got out of bed, quietly walked to the table, and looked at him warily.

Yun Duoduo woke up when she heard the noise and looked at Yun Yishu in surprise as he came in the middle of the night.

Why is the Third Prince silent?

"Third Prince?" Jin Jinzhi called softly, but Yun Yishu did not react, as if he had not heard Jin Jinzhi's voice at all.

Yun Yishu picked up the hibiscus cake from the table and stuffed it into his mouth. Without saying a word, he stuffed the cakes into his mouth one by one, and then drank the tea in the teapot in one gulp.

The entire set of movements was as smooth as flowing water, performed in one go.

Watching his movements, Yun Duoduo wondered to herself, "Could it be that Third Brother is sleepwalking?!"

Is this his first episode or is it a recurring one?

Could there be an underlying sleep disorder?

[If the condition is chronic, benzodiazepines such as diazepam or alprazolam may be used to suppress non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep stages 3 and 4.]

[Oh dear, but the first-aid kit is malfunctioning. Will she still be able to get the medication she needs?]

Yun Duoduo bit her finger, looking sad and frustrated.

[Could it be that my third brother has developed panic disorder? Or something more serious, like an organic brain lesion?!]

If that's the case, then surgery might be necessary, but the conditions here are extremely harsh, and there's no equipment available!

The more Yun Duoduo thought about it, the more frightened she became. As a medical student, her mind was filled with all sorts of questions.

If the person in front of her were a stranger, Yun Duoduo might not be so nervous and would be able to analyze the patient's condition more objectively.

But the person in front of her was her third brother, who was very kind to her, and she really didn't want anything to happen to the people around her.

Once she can speak, she'll definitely want to find out more about her third brother's situation.

[Eating without control while sleepwalking can damage the stomach over time.]

Jin Jinzhi seemed to realize that the Third Prince was unable to think or communicate with others at the moment. Although she found it strange, she did not forcibly stop him. She simply followed behind him silently and promptly moved the chair that was blocking his way.

After finishing his meal, the Third Prince Yun Yishu left Fushuang Palace. His face was expressionless, and he did not linger. After leaving, he closed the door of Fushuang Palace as if nothing had happened.

Next to the sleeping quarters was a soft couch, on which Ah Xiang was sleeping.

Ah Xiang slept soundly that night, but had several dreams in a row, and was covered in cold sweat. A figure kept appearing in her mind: the day the Buddhist temple caught fire, and before her eyes was a raging red flame.

As she lay dying and in despair, she seemed to see a figure, but the figure was tall and slender. In her mind's comparison, that figure was not the one who saved Princess Jin Jinzhi, but someone else entirely.

But who is this person?

She tried desperately to see the person's face clearly, but a layer of fog always blocked her view, preventing her from seeing clearly.

She didn't know what the person was going to do. Her dream was hazy and unclear. She felt as if she was being paralyzed by a ghost, unable to wake up, and she couldn't see the things in her dream clearly.

This feeling is extremely uncomfortable, as if someone is choking me, I can't make a sound, I can't open my eyes, my body feels like it's sealed and I can't move, and my head is throbbing.

(Hello everyone, this is the author, Duoduo. I haven't been feeling well these past few days, so updates have been a bit late. Thank you for your understanding.)

(I'll update more often once I'm feeling better, so please read them often, my little darlings. The weather's been quite changeable lately, so please take good care of yourselves and don't get sick. Being sick is awful, sob sob. Remember to bring an umbrella when you go out during the rainy season and keep warm. Love you all!)
