Chapter 123 Innocence

"Hahaha......"

Upon hearing Gu Sang's words, the leading officer sneered. He rubbed his nose and said mockingly, "Young lady, do you think you have the right to negotiate with us now? You're really naive."

"I can not only negotiate with you, but also help you to make your status even more glorious!"

A solemn expression flashed across Gu Sang's pretty face. She looked at the group of officials and spoke in a deep voice, her face full of determination as she spoke.

"Hehehe, young lady, your joke is not funny at all. What are our identities? We are officials of the Great Zhou Dynasty, while you are just a lowly commoner, a lowly commoner who has been banished to this desolate wilderness."

"Hahaha, you think you can help us? I advise you to get lost now, so that when we start fighting, we don't sever your tendons and ligaments, and then you won't even have a chance to beg for mercy!"

"Yes, we can make you wish you were dead anytime we want, even if you're just a lowly commoner like you."

Upon hearing Gu Sang's words, the group of officials laughed, their faces showing mockery and disdain.

"You...you're bullying a girl like me! Do you even deserve to be called men?" Gu Sang felt deep contempt for these officials.

These people are utterly shameless! How could they say such despicable things!

Seeing the appearance of these officials, Gu Sang felt a surge of rage! She wished she could rush up and tear them to pieces.

"Hahaha, what's wrong? Little lady, why are you so excited? Let me tell you, you look like a lowly commoner right now, while we are the real officials of the Great Zhou." Hearing Gu Sang's expression, a smug look appeared on his face, and then he said coldly to Gu Sang, pointing his finger at her as he spoke.

That was as if he were announcing to Gu Sang that he was now an official of the Great Zhou Dynasty, while Gu Sang was a commoner.

"You...you..." Seeing the official's actions, Gu Sang's face was filled with anger. She shouted at these people and then tried to rush towards the official.

However, the official had already anticipated that Gu Sang would make this move.

With a flick of his sleeve, the officer swiftly stepped in front of Gu Sang, extending his arm to block Gu Sang's neck.

"Young lady, stop struggling. Just surrender obediently. Even if you manage to break free, you won't be able to escape. So, I advise you to come back with me obediently."

"You...you bastard, let me go right now, or I won't be polite!"

Upon seeing this, Gu Sang immediately struggled, but the officer showed no intention of letting go, still firmly gripping Gu Sang's arm.

"Young lady, don't struggle anymore. You'd better save your energy." The officer stared at Gu Sang with a mocking look on his face. He smirked and continued, "However, I still want to remind you, young lady, don't resist. Otherwise, you will be the one who suffers, not me."

Gu Sang was taken aback and immediately stopped struggling.

"Hmph, that's more like it." Seeing that Gu Sang had finally quieted down, the officer coldly snorted, then turned to the other officers and said, "Brothers, since this lowly commoner wants to negotiate with us, let's give him a taste of our power!"

"Haha, great idea!"

"Yes, young lady, please don't blame us. If you have to blame someone, blame this official. After all, he personally ordered us to do this."

"Yes, yes, young lady, you only have yourself to blame for being so foolish as to believe such a lie."

Hearing the officials' words, the soldiers who were originally standing next to Gu Sang laughed loudly. Gu Sang gritted her teeth but said nothing more. She knew very well that speaking was very important in officialdom. Once someone caught her doing something wrong, it would be no laughing matter. So, Gu Sang decided to endure it and not argue with these guys.

However, although Gu Sang did not speak or struggle anymore, this guy's behavior was even more infuriating.

Seeing that Gu Sang remained silent and unresponsive, the officer felt helpless. He knew that Gu Sang had resigned herself to her fate, which made him very happy. He then turned around and waved to the group of officers, signaling them to come forward.

Upon seeing the officer's signal, the group of constables grinned at Gu Sang, then slowly walked past her, whispering amongst themselves as they went.

Hearing the officials' comments, Gu Sang's face grew even more gloomy.

"What do you mean by this? What are you trying to do? Are you going to attack me?" Gu Sang shouted at the group of officials.

"Hehehe, little lady, don't be afraid. I wouldn't bear to hurt you. I'm here to negotiate with you. No matter what I say, you have to listen to me, understand?" the official said with a smile to Gu Sang.

"I knew it. You corrupt official are definitely up to no good. Hmph, you just want to use me so that your brothers can rob money, right? Let me tell you, that's absolutely impossible. I'd rather die than agree to such a thing."

Upon hearing the official's words, Gu Sang immediately shook her head and spoke to him, word by word. Then, Gu Sang turned her gaze to the official, her face full of vigilance. Right now, she only hoped to leave this place as soon as possible and stay as far away from these guys as possible, lest she encounter any misfortune.

Gu Sang's words struck a nerve with the officials. Upon hearing them, their faces immediately contorted with anger. However, they dared only keep their anger inside, not vent it out. After all, they knew that if they angered this beautiful woman, they couldn't guarantee that she wouldn't try to kill them. In that case, they would suffer greatly, and might even lose their lives. They certainly didn't want to see that happen.
