"Hmph, I don't hit women. If you know what's good for you, get out of my way. Otherwise, don't blame me for being impolite," the young man sneered.
“I won’t allow it, what do you want?” Gu Sang asked.
"Fine, I'll beat you until you step aside." The man said, raising his fist and smashing it towards Gu Sang.
With a "bang," Gu Sang deftly dodged the punch.
"Hmph, seeing how skinny you are, I thought you were something special."
"You think I'm that great? I'm just too lazy to bother with you. You're so skinny, I could knock you down with one punch." Gu Sang said, taking another step forward and kicking the man.
The kick was incredibly fast; it struck the boy in the stomach, sending him flying.
With a muffled thud, the boy crashed into the wall, slid down, and spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Pfft!" At this moment, the boy spat out a mouthful of blood and then fainted.
Gu Sang clapped her hands and turned to walk out of the market.
"Little sister, you're really too ruthless. You actually kicked someone away. Aren't you afraid of offending people?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Sang immediately turned around and saw a woman standing behind her.
Gu Sang didn't say anything, turned around and continued walking out of the market.
"Oh dear, young lady, you haven't told us your name yet," the woman said hastily when she saw that Gu Sang wasn't buying it.
Gu Sang did not answer and continued walking forward.
"Hey, you brat, I'm talking to you, and you're ignoring me? Do you know how rude and disrespectful you are to your elders?" the woman said angrily. She hadn't expected Gu Sang to ignore her like that, and she grabbed Gu Sang's arm.
“I respect my elders, but I will not respect a bully.” Gu Sang shook off the woman’s hand and continued walking forward.
"What did you say? You call me a bully?" the woman said angrily. "I think you're the bad guy, how dare you curse me like that! Let me tell you, if you don't pay my medical expenses, I'll go to the authorities and sue you."
Gu Sang turned to look at the woman and asked, "Why should I compensate you for your medical expenses? You're nobody to me, so why should I pay you?"
“I am your sister,” the woman said.
"You're my sister?" Gu Sang asked in surprise. "Are you sure you're related to me? If you are, why haven't I heard of you before?"
"I..." The woman was speechless upon hearing this, unsure of how to explain herself.
"You don't know, do you? I'm not actually related to you. We just look alike," the woman said. "You don't recognize me, is that why you don't know me?"
"I see." Gu Sang suddenly realized and said, "But I don't remember having a relative like you."
"Hmph! Since you won't admit it, then I'll tell you, you're the village beauty."
"You're talking nonsense. I'm not a village beauty. My name is Gu Sang, and I'm the village doctor. I'm not called a village beauty," Gu Sang corrected.
"Village beauty? You're Gu Sang? Let me tell you, you are the village beauty. Otherwise, how could you be so powerful and defeat so many people?" the woman said.
“I’m the village chief, so who do you think I can defeat?” Gu Sang replied.
“You are the village chief, but a village chief is not someone your age.”
“A village chief is a village chief. No matter who the village chief is, whether he is male or female, he is still a village chief. That will never change.”
Hearing Gu Sang say this, the woman gritted her teeth in anger. She never expected Gu Sang to be so sharp-tongued.
"Fine, if you don't want to talk to me, then don't blame me for being impolite." After saying that, the woman rushed towards Gu Sang, ready to teach her a lesson.
"Stop!" At this moment, a shout suddenly rang out, and then an elderly man in his fifties or sixties appeared in front of Gu Sang.
The old man's face was stern as he glared at the woman and scolded, "You woman, do you know what you're doing? How dare you lay a hand on a young girl?"
"I..." The woman felt a little flustered when she saw the old man, but she still tried to remain calm and pointed at Gu Sang, saying, "Uncle, this young girl injured my son. I want to seek justice from this young girl."
“Nonsense! This young girl is the doctor I invited. I just asked her, and she said she doesn’t know you. She said she’s never seen you before,” the old man scolded.
"Uncle, you have no idea how badly this young girl beat my son. You have to give me an explanation," the woman said, pointing at Gu Sang.
"Gu Sang, you don't need to say so much to her," Li Rong suddenly said as she walked over.
Upon hearing this, Gu Sang immediately understood Li Rong's meaning. She nodded and said to Li Rong, "Don't worry, I will definitely get justice for you and won't let you suffer any more injustice."
When Li Rong heard Gu Sang say that, she smiled and nodded.
Upon hearing this, the woman immediately retorted angrily, "Who do you think you are, daring to lecture me like this? Let me tell you, I have something to say to this young girl, and you are not allowed to interrupt."
Upon hearing the woman's words, Li Rong frowned. She turned her gaze to Gu Sang, hoping that Gu Sang would speak up to stop the matter, but Gu Sang remained silent, seemingly oblivious to the scene unfolding before her. She simply stared quietly at the woman.
Upon seeing this, the woman stomped her foot in anger.
"Who do you think you are? How dare you glare at me so rudely? Do you know who I am? I am the steward of Magistrate Li's mansion. Let me tell you, I'm going to show you what I'm capable of today. Don't think you can be so arrogant just because you have some medical skills." The woman threatened Gu Sang fiercely.
Seeing this, Li Rong rolled her eyes, curled her lips in disdain, and said, "So what if you're from the county magistrate's office? Let me tell you, if you want to cause trouble, go find me at the county magistrate's office. But if you dare to bully her, don't blame me for being impolite."
"Could this kid really have some kind of background?" the woman thought to herself. "I'll let you off this time," she said as she quickened her pace.
Before leaving, she glared fiercely at Gu Sang.
After the woman left, Gu Sang and Li Rong did not stay at the restaurant either, and left together.
On the way, Gu Sang suddenly craved dessert, but in this day and age, desserts were a thing of the past. The fruit trees on that barren mountain looked quite sweet; why not try making some herself? Thinking this, Gu Sang's interest was piqued, and she decided to pick some fruit to take home and make desserts, since she had some free time now.
"Young Master Li, is there anything you'd like to eat? I'll go pick it for you," Gu Sang said to Li Rong.
