Chapter Fifteen: The Strange Cave

In the evening, Gu Sang made braised pork. Knowing that her family hadn't eaten meat for a long time, she was afraid they wouldn't be able to handle so much oily food, so she added some potatoes she had brought back from the cave to eat together. Over time, the potatoes absorbed the flavor and became as fragrant as the meat.

Then Gu Sang sent Da Wa to call Li Rong. After they arrived, they used the newly bought bowls and chopsticks and had a comfortable meal.

Li Rong couldn't remember how long it had been since she had eaten meat. Yesterday she ate grilled fish at the third house, and today she ate meat. She was getting better every day.

Moreover, Gu Sang kept her word and promised to have me come over for meals every day, and she did just that.

Gu Sang took a bite of her steamed bun and, seeing Li Rong looking at her, raised an eyebrow.

"What? It doesn't taste good?"

No way! She's quite skilled as a semi-food blogger, and braised pork with potatoes is a common home-style dish; she would have loved it too.

Li Rong quickly looked away, then shook her head and said, "No, it's delicious."

This was the most delicious meal he had eaten in recent years.

I believe that even if she lives a better life in the future, she will still remember this meal and never forget it.

Seeing Li Rong's reaction, Gu Sang immediately understood what was on his mind.

Seeing that everyone else was eating seriously, Gu Sang put down her steamed bun, picked up a piece of meat, and put it in her mouth.

After swallowing, Gu Sang finally spoke.

"Don't worry about what others are doing. Living our own lives well is more important than anything else. What do other people's good or bad have to do with us? And most importantly... what will happen if this matter really goes wrong? Have you thought about that?"

Is things getting out of hand?

What does that mean?

This caused Li Rong to frown slightly, her gaze towards Gu Sang filled with doubt.

What do you mean by that?

The Gu family's third branch is now thriving, so how could things not be good?

Moreover, Li Rong still trusted Gu Sang quite a bit. Although she was young, she was very reliable in her work, so nothing bad should happen, right?

Gu Sang shook her head.

Everything seems alright now, but there are still hidden dangers, namely the Gu family.

"You must know the situation of the Gu family and the third branch of the Gu family. They won't just let the third branch have it easy. Besides, the huge mess I made is still there. Who knows what kind of insidious scheme they might come up with one day? We have no idea, so we need to think about this carefully."

Gu Sang understood that if she wanted to live well, she had to establish a firm foothold.

"So we'll probably be quite busy for a while, let's make some money first and then talk about other things."

As long as she had money, she wouldn't panic. Even if she didn't want to live in this dilapidated thatched hut anymore, she could simply move out.

After hearing Gu Sang's words, Li Rong took a deep breath, looking quite shocked.

"I never thought of these things..."

Perhaps because she had a slight sense of indifference, Li Rong didn't treat these matters as a big deal at the moment. Most importantly, if something else were to happen, it would be difficult for anyone to control.

"Now that you understand all this, what are you planning to do?"

Gu Sang shook her head.

"I've tricked them today, and they'll definitely hold a grudge. But I'm not afraid. If they're so tough, let's meet them head-on. I want to see who doesn't have a temper!"

After Gu Sang finished speaking, she glanced at Li Rong again.

"I'll have to trouble you to keep an eye on my younger brother and sister-in-law and my mother these next few days. I'm afraid I can't manage on my own."

The Gu family is ruthless; they can even bury their own niece alive. So they would have no regard for the rest of the third branch of the family. If they wanted to get rid of me, they wouldn't care about anything else.

Gu Sang has just opened up the market in the town, and she can't stay in this small village and this small thatched house forever, so there are still many things she needs to deal with.

However, Li Rong also had to take care of her younger siblings and Li Shi.

Upon hearing this, Li Rong nodded without saying a word.

"Just go ahead and do it, I'll take care of things for you."

"Thank you then."

Gu Sang smiled slightly, her eyes full of vitality, giving people a feeling of vigor. Li Rong had never seen Gu Sang like this before. Li Rong couldn't help but cough, and then quickly looked away, not daring to say another word.

His heart was pounding, and he didn't know why.

After dinner and a quick tidying up, once it was completely dark, Gu Sang led her people directly into the cave.

However, once inside the cave, Gu Sang noticed that something was amiss.

"Li Rong, come and take a look. Is there something wrong with this?"

As Gu Sang spoke, everyone looked over, each one pointing to the spot she was referring to.

Before Li Rong could speak, Li Shi exclaimed in surprise.

"Didn't Sanwa and I pick all the fruit here yesterday?"

That simple sentence immediately silenced everyone; no one dared to speak again.

Li was so frightened by her own words that she immediately covered her mouth and took a deep breath.

"What... what exactly is going on?"

Nobody knows exactly what happened, but at this moment, it's clear that the situation is indeed somewhat different.

But what exactly is different about this is indeed puzzling.

Gu Sang looked at Li Rong.

Li Rong pursed her lips, and it was clear that the boy was very nervous at this moment, but also extremely calm.

Such people are the most trustworthy.

"What do you think about this?"

Gu Sang also had her own thoughts, but she held back. At this moment, she wanted to ask Li Rong what he had to say.

Li Rong took a deep breath, suppressing the turmoil in her heart, and then looked at Gu Sang.

"This place is not simple."

Gu Sang nodded.

It was obvious to everyone that this was not simple. Apart from the younger Erwa, Sanwa, and Siya, Dawa seemed to understand what was going on and was looking at Gu Sang with longing eyes.

"Big sister... could there be monsters here?"

Yesterday they picked a lot of things, and the eldest child clearly remembered picking all the grapes! But just one day later, there were bunches of grapes again.

The first time he saw it, he was overjoyed, but at this moment, the eldest child felt terrified!
