Chapter 158 Luo Luo and Xi Er
early morning.
The whole world is cool, and the sunlight shines gently on everything through the light mist, creating a uniquely pleasing feeling.
Su Mansion, Qinghe Garden.
There was constant laughter in the main house.
Su Yuan sat at the head of the bed with a bowl of Astragalus Chicken Soup in his hand. He skimmed off the oil on the top with a spoon, scooped up a spoonful of soup, blew it under his lips and said:
"Daddy, there is a wet nurse to take care of her. If you love Su Chuyao, you can take her to Xinyuan Hall to take care of her for a while. She slept in the side room at night and cried all night, seriously disturbing Nan Chu's rest."
After saying that, she brought the tonic soup of just the right temperature to Nan Chu's lips, who was half leaning against the head of the bed, and said in a gentle voice:
"Come, open your mouth and drink some nourishing soup. You lost so much blood yesterday. I'll ask the kitchen to make you different kinds of tonics from now on. They will definitely help you get back to your good looks."
Nan Chu's hand under the quilt was tightly grasping the corner of Su Yuan's clothes. Hearing this, he slightly opened his mouth, obediently took the porcelain spoon and drank up the soup.
Diagonally opposite, on the couch.
Father Su was sitting cross-legged at the innermost side, holding his granddaughter in his arms lovingly and swinging her around, when he heard what his daughter said.
His eyes lit up, and he looked past Meng Yunlan and Song Yuezhong who were sitting on his left and right, and looked at the wife and husband on the bed. His tone was joyful, and he asked happily:
"Are you sure? If you are sincere and willing, Daddy will take my eldest granddaughter away later."
He glanced at Nan Chu who was hidden by the light pink bed curtains, raised his eyebrows, and smiled faintly:
"But this matter cannot be done by you alone. What does Nanchu think? If I take the child back to the courtyard to raise him without asking for his permission, he will be resentful for nothing in the future, and the Su family's backyard will be in turmoil."
On the bed.
Nan Chu took a hazy look at the small package in Su's father's arms through the gauze curtain, bit his lower lip, and whispered:
"Of course I am willing. Daddy, just take Chu Yao back to Xinyuan Hall to cherish her for a few days. In about two months, the people borrowed from Jiangzhou will go to the capital. By then, Daddy will be busy with the affairs of Xiangsufang. You can send her back then."
He wants to raise one too.
But just because his daughter made a fuss all night last night, he felt irritated and wanted to lose his temper. His wife also saw this, which led to her remarks just now.
After two months, when his mentality has adjusted, it would be feasible for him to take his daughter back to raise her.
When Father Su heard that there was no sign of reluctance in Nan Chu's words, he immediately understood what was going on.
He lowered his head to wrap the loosened small mattress for Su Chuyao, looked up at his daughter beside the bed, and instructed:
"In that case, then Daddy will take the eldest granddaughter away. But Yuanyuan, you should stay in Nanchu Courtyard to accompany him for the next few days. I'm sure he hasn't been in a good condition recently. I'll also bring Chuyao here to take a look when I have time."
Su Yuan brought the warmed Astragalus Chicken Soup to Nan Chu's mouth and fed him another sip, nodding and saying:
"Well, I understand. But Daddy, please don't do everything yourself. The servants and the nanny will take care of the trivial matters. You just need to keep an eye on them."
Father Su hummed lightly, and made a "tsk tsk" sound to tease his granddaughter, who was laughing foolishly, and asked:
"My full name is Su Chuyao. Do you have a nickname?"
Su Yuan looked at Nan Chu and saw him shaking his head at her, knowing that her husband didn't want to worry about it at the moment.
She handed the empty porcelain bowl to the attendant beside her, raised her eyes to look at the three men on the couch, and said with a faint smile:
"I haven't chosen one yet. Otherwise, you can think of one for me. It's a bit strange to call him by his full name all day long. I'd better give him a nickname that's easier for everyone to pronounce."
After that, she turned her gaze to the man who complained to her last night that she didn't care about him. The smile on her lips grew bigger and bigger, and she said:
"The baby in Yuezhong's belly is about to be born, so why not take this opportunity to think of one in advance, so that we don't have to be unprepared when the time comes."
Couch, right side.
Song Yuezhong was drinking tea leisurely as if nothing happened to him. Upon hearing this, he glanced at Su Yuan lightly.
Then he turned his head slightly, forced a faint smile on his expressionless face, and said in a soft voice:
"I'll listen to you."
He still remembered what Su Yuan said last night.
In the future I will have to trouble the men in the backyard to look after the children, so now I have to build good relationships with them and welcome them with a smile.
On the opposite side, Meng Yunlan looked at the person who used to be as cold as ice, and suddenly smiled at himself.
He was slightly stunned, then nodded to the person, turned sideways and looked at Father Su and asked:
"Dad is the elder of the family and the grandfather of the two children. Since my wife has asked, why don't you choose the nickname?"
After all, he is not the father of the two children. It would be illogical for him to speak rashly!
Father Su saw that the girl had gone around in a circle and returned to him. He looked at his granddaughter in his arms and the belly of the man on his right, then lowered his eyes and pondered for a while.
His eyebrows curved downwards, his eyes were filled with smiles, and he spoke slowly:
"My eldest granddaughter will be named Luo Luo. The second, um..., has not yet been determined in terms of gender, but I have already thought of a wonderful nickname. Yue Chong has a wooden face all day and doesn't like to smile. Smile means happy, but happy is too vulgar. Why not call her Xi'er? How about it? What do you think Daddy chose?"
Su Yuan raised his eyebrows slightly, nodded in agreement, and then said jokingly:
"I think it's okay. I thought Daddy would say that humble names are easier to raise, and give him names like Goudan or Erzhu. I don't agree with that. But these two names sound poetic and make Daddy seem quite talented in literature."
Father Su waved his hand and said, then turned to look at the men on both sides, raised his eyebrows and said:
"You think so?"
Meng Yunlan and Song Yuezhong had no intention of interrupting, but now that they saw Father Su asking for their opinions, they both nodded and said:
"I think it sounds good/ Yeah."
Father Su nodded with satisfaction, holding his eldest granddaughter in his arms, got off the bed and put on his shoes, and raised his chin slightly to signal the man on the bed:
"Daddy is going back to Xinyuan Hall to find a place for Luo Luo to stay. Why don't you come with me to take a look, especially Yue Chong. I will teach you some basic common sense then. It will be easier to take care of the child in the future if you know more. Also, Nan Chu is weak right now, and it is not appropriate for us to quarrel here."
The two of them looked at Nan Chu's haggard and weak face on the bed and replied "Okay".
Afterwards, they were helped down from the couch by the attendants on both sides. They said a few words of farewell to Su Yuan and Nan Chu, and followed Su's father to Xinyuan Hall.
