Chapter 8 Ginseng Prey

Chapter 8 Ginseng Prey

After hearing this, Su Yuan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. So it was because of this. She wiped the tears from Su's father's face with a handkerchief and comforted him in a gentle voice:

"Dad, it was because my daughter was a child back then. She was too naughty and refused to go to school. How can I blame you?"

"Besides, there was a person in ancient times who passed the imperial examination. Didn't Xu Zhuo pass the imperial examination? He was nearly sixty years old, and he was still persevering in taking the imperial examination. It's not too late for my daughter to take the exam now, as she is only sixteen. Maybe I am one of them who has accumulated a lot of experience and finally made a breakthrough."

[Xu Zhuo Passes the Imperial Examination]: One hundred years ago in Fengqi country, there was a scholar named Xu Zhuo. He had failed the imperial examinations for decades, but he never gave up and kept on persevering. Finally, at the age of 58, he passed the examination and became a high-ranking official.

Su Yuan quickly found a reason to comfort Su's father and told him to be at ease and stop crying.

After all, the original owner did have personal reasons and was a poor student. We can't let Father Su feel guilty and suffer from a mental illness because of this.

Su Yuan calmed his father down, put the heart-shaped crystal in his hand into his sleeve, and smiled at his father:

"Don't worry now, I'll be back soon. Daddy and Nanchu can wait for their daughter at home."

Father Su's eyes were red as he waved to Su Yuan:

"Go ahead and come back soon."

Su Yuan nodded, then shouted towards the kitchen:

"Nan Chu, I'm leaving. You stay at home and make clothes. Remember to pay attention to Daddy's health."

After saying this, Su Yuan strode out.

In the kitchen, Nan Chu was covering his face in a daze when he suddenly heard his wife's voice and the news that she was going into the mountains.

He suddenly stood up from the small bench, ran to the door and stopped, looking at Su Yuan's departing back with concern in his eyes.

The back mountain of Lihua Village.

Su Yuan walked slowly into the mountains, as if she was not here to dig ginseng, but just taking a leisurely stroll in the garden.

However, she did not put ginseng digging at the top of her priority list. Today's goal was mainly hunting and going into the mountains to purchase meat.

Deep in the mountains, a figure was moving back and forth at an extremely fast speed. If someone saw this situation, they would probably sigh.

Master, is this still a human being?

Could it be a big boss from some sect?

"Bang."

With a loud bang, a shallow pit was smashed into the thick snow, and in the pit lay a wild boar with wounds all over its body and a bloody hole in its abdomen.

It can be said that this wild boar was unlucky. It ran into Su Yuan when it came out of its cave to look for food in the middle of winter. Then it was chased and killed repeatedly, and finally died at its doorstep.

After killing the pig, Su Yuan put away his sword, walked to the wild boar's corpse and waved his hand. Only bloodstains were left on the ground and nothing else.

She sighed somewhat disappointedly:

"Alas, today's harvest is not ideal!"

It's already afternoon, and Su Yuan has been busy for most of the day using teleportation and weapons.

In total, they caught more than twenty pheasants, more than thirty rabbits, three wild boars that had just been killed, and dug up three ginseng plants that were more than ten years old.

"But there are really few animals outside in the winter, so we should go back."

Su Yuan followed the dry vines that were wrapped around the big tree next to him, pulled them down, pulled out a piece and broke it off to keep for later use.

Outside the Su family courtyard.

Su Yuan was in a dishevel, carrying a wild boar on his back and dragging a string of rabbits and pheasants in his hands.

She shouted towards the door:

"Nan Chu, I'm back, open the door quickly."

Fortunately, the people around were far away, otherwise the neighbors in front, behind, and on both sides would have been able to hear her voice, which shows how loud Su Yuan used her voice.

Nan Chu, who was sewing in the house, heard Su Yuan's call, and quickly put down the cloth in her hand, ran out expectantly and opened the door for Su Yuan:

"Wife, come in quickly."

When Nan Chu saw the wild boar on Su Yuan's body and the string of prey he was dragging in his hand, his mouth opened into an O shape in shock.

Oh my God, my wife is so amazing. She actually brought back so many prey.

He came over and took the prey that Su Yuan was dragging in her hand to help her share the weight.

Seeing that Nan Chu was happy, Su Yuan did not let go of his hand and let him hold it.

Then he raised his eyebrows at Nan Chu and said proudly:

"Well, your wife is amazing, isn't she? She brought back so many preys from the mountain."

Nan Chu looked at Su Yuan with sparkling eyes and nodded attentively:

"Awesome, my wife is awesome, the most awesome person I've ever seen."

Su Yuan just asked casually, but she didn't expect Nan Chu to be so good at praising people. His sincere eyes and simple words made her feel flattered.

Oh, it was so comfortable to listen to. Su Yuan suddenly felt in a good mood and smiled happily.

Father Su also came out at this time. When he saw the prey Su Yuan brought back, he was also surprised. He said with a mixture of joy and worry:

"Yuanyuan, you hunted so many prey. Are you not injured?"

Nan Chu's heart skipped a beat when he heard this. He was so busy talking to his wife that he forgot to check if she was injured.

Then his gaze hurriedly shifted to Su Yuan. He looked at her with concern, waiting for Su Yuan's answer.

Su Yuan noticed the two men's gazes, raised his eyebrows sharply, threw the wild boar to the ground, and turned around in front of them:

"I'm not injured. Look at me, I'm alive and kicking."

After the demonstration, Su Yuan bent down and picked up one of the wild boar's hind legs, dragged it to the kitchen door, and planned to kill the pig:

"You guys go in first. It's going to be bloody later. Be careful not to get scared."

After saying this, she frowned slightly, as if she was thinking about something important, and then she freed one hand and reached into her arms.

Su Yuan took out something wrapped in cloth and handed it to Father Su, explaining:

"Dad, there are four ginsengs in here, two are a hundred years old, and two are more than ten years old. Take them to the table in the house, otherwise they will be damaged by my butchering, which will affect the price."

She accidentally found two hundred-year-old ginsengs in an empty villa, then pulled them out and threw them into the space.

Her space has a perpetual effect, so when she takes it out it is no different from when she just picked it.

Father Su listened to his daughter's words and had an unexpected gain this time. He narrowed his eyes and smiled:

"Okay, then you kill the pig outside, and I'll go into the house with Nan Chu and the ginseng."

After working all day and night to make Nan Chu's new dress, and with Su's father helping him with some light work, he had already finished one.

I'm not so anxious anymore.

After the two entered the house, Su Yuan was alone in the yard dealing with wild boars, rabbits and pheasants. When he finished everything, the sky had darkened.

It’s time to cook, Su Yuan thought as he looked up at the sky.

She took the meat to the kitchen and covered it, then went into the main room where two men were making clothes.

When they saw Su Yuan coming in, they all looked over.

Su Yuan smiled at them, walked to the table and sat down, then opened the ginseng wrapped tightly in cloth and said to Father Su:

"Dad, I'll give you one of these hundred-year-old ginsengs to replenish your body, and I'll take the other to Huichun Hall in town to sell it tomorrow. How do you think?"

Father Su nodded in agreement: "Okay, I'll do as you say."

"But don't forget what we talked about this morning. Sell the ginseng for some money and go to the private school in town to study."
