Chapter 166 One Against a Group

Jiang Yuwei quickly parked the oxcart, went into the shop, and looked at the fool, asking:

"Fool, what's wrong?"

The fool pointed angrily at the group of burly men and said:

"They're here to buy paper!"

Jiang Yuwei frowned and looked at the several burly men with unfriendly faces, then said:

"Esteemed guests, our shop isn't even open yet. How did you know we sell paper here?"

Upon hearing this, the burly man who was leading the group immediately straightened up and said:

"I said you sell paper, so you sell paper! What? Your shop doesn't sell paper?"

Jiang Yuwei raised an eyebrow and smiled:

"Whether you sell paper or not, our shop is closed today, so please leave!"

The burly man glared at him as if he wanted to devour him and shouted:

"I came here to buy paper. Is this how you do business? You're kicking your customers out?"

Jiang Yuwei frowned and said:

"We haven't even opened for business yet. Are you deaf?"

"You! It's you! You damned woman! You lied to me so badly!"

Suddenly, a man stepped out from behind the burly man and pointed at Jiang Yuwei angrily.

Jiang Yuwei carefully examined the man and suddenly remembered that this was Gang Ge, who had come to the market to collect protection money from her that day. Jiang Yuwei frowned. What a nuisance. How did Gang Ge end up working as someone else's lackey?

Gang Ge grabbed the hand of the burly man leading the group and cried out:

"Brother Xing, you have to stand up for me! It's this woman who lied to me, she lied to me so badly, I was so scared that I didn't dare to go to the market to collect protection money for more than a month!"

Jiang Yuwei laughed when she saw his cowardly appearance:

“I’m telling the truth, I’m not lying to you, Brother Gang. Didn’t you swear to me the other day that you had the whole Ping’an Town under your protection, and that Brother Xing and Brother Niao were all good-for-nothings? By the way, are you willing to come and be my henchman or not? You ran away last time, you can’t run away again today!”

Xing frowned upon hearing Jiang Yuwei's words, looked at Gang Ge, and said in a deep voice:

"You really said that?"

Gang Ge hadn't reacted yet, and was deep in thought, muttering to himself:

Did I say it? It seems like I did?

Before Gang could finish speaking, Xing punched him in the face, instantly giving him a black eye. Gang looked bewildered and cried out:

"Brother Xing, why did you hit me? Go hit that bitch instead!"

Seeing this, Xing Ge punched him in the other eye. Hmm, now it's symmetrical.

"You called me a glutton, so what if I can eat a lot? Go, drag him out of here, he's not going to work for me anymore!"

As soon as Xing finished speaking, one of his underlings grabbed Gang and dragged him out.

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei covered her mouth and chuckled. They hadn't even made a move yet, and one of them had already been dealt with through infighting. Thinking this, Jiang Yuwei looked at the fool and wondered how skilled these people were. She wondered if the fool could handle them all by himself. She decided to try to use words rather than force.

"What are you laughing at? Hurry up and get me some paper, I need to buy some!"

Xing Ge shouted to Jiang Yuwei.

Jiang Yuwei looked at Xing Ge and said calmly:

How much paper do you want?

Xing raised an eyebrow and grinned in a roguish way:

"I want a hundred dollars!"

Jiang Yuwei smiled and said:

"Large clients require an advance deposit before we'll even start making the paper. A hundred dollars would take a month to produce. Could you possibly wait?"

"What joke are you talking about! When has our Brother Xing ever paid for anything? Buying your stuff is a favor to you. Hand over the paper now, it's one hundred dollars, not a penny less, and it has to be paid in full today!"

The underling next to Xing Ge shouted to Jiang Yuwei, while Xing Ge calmly looked at Jiang Yuwei and waited for her reply.

Jiang Yuwei frowned and looked at the fool, asking:

"Can you win?"

The fool nodded to Jiang Yuwei and said:

"Yeah, it's all just for show."

Hearing this, Jiang Yuwei smiled with satisfaction and said to Xing Ge, who was leading the group:

"Brother Xing, I understand what you mean. Let's go to the door and talk."

Xing Ge, unaware of Jiang Yuwei's next scheme, nodded and followed her to the door. The simpleton casually picked up a broom from the shop and followed her out.

Seeing that everyone had come out, Jiang Yuwei pointed at Xing Ge's nose and cursed:

"I think you're a toad looking for a frog. You're ugly and you're not good at playing games! Look at your ugly face, and you still buy things without spending money? You're risking your life if you don't spend money?"

As Jiang Yuwei spoke, she pointed to the younger brother who had just spoken and said:

"And you, you're nothing but a mangy dog, all talk and no action! You, you, you, and you, you bunch of scum, you're shameless bastards, you'll spout any nonsense and do anything! Today I'll make you pay for your nonsense! You idiot, beat him up!"

After saying that, Jiang Yuwei hurriedly ran a few meters away, put her hands on her hips and watched as the idiot took a broken broom and beat up a group of strong men.

Still not satisfied with just looking at Jiang Yuwei, she ran straight to the front of Ge's Paper Shop, put her hands on her hips, and started cursing:

"Let all you Ge family members see this clearly: I'm not someone to be trifled with. Anyone who dares to mess with our shop again should think twice before risking their lives! Don't go around doing things that are as bad as a toad jumping into a pot of boiling oil; you're just asking for trouble!"

The people from Ge's Paper Mill were no match for Jiang Yuwei's sharp tongue, so they could only secretly observe the battle outside from the window.

“Manager Zhang, how come these people you found can’t even beat an idiot? This won’t do any good.”

Manager Zhang glared at the gossiping servant and spat out a curse:

"Shut up! If you're so capable, you do it yourself. Damn it, that bitch Jiang Yuwei is really hard to deal with. One of you go out and get her out of here. Don't let her cause trouble in front of our shop."

The servants looked at each other, none of them daring to utter a sound, all afraid of being scolded by Jiang Yuwei if they went out.

Manager Zhang stomped his feet in anger as he looked at the bunch of useless people under his command.

"Damn it, what's the use of keeping a bunch of good-for-nothings like you? You're all useless!"

A servant boy spoke up timidly:

"Why don't you go out and chase her away, Manager Zhang? That way we can learn something from her."

Upon hearing this, Steward Zhang glared fiercely at the servant and cursed:

"Shut up, no one will think you're mute if you don't speak!"

Jiang Yuwei cursed outside for a while, but seeing that no one came out, she got a little bored and slowly returned to the entrance of her shop. Seeing that the fool had long since vanished, she patted him on the shoulder with satisfaction and smiled:

"You silly girl, I brought you something delicious. Let's go inside and eat."

After saying that, Jiang Yuwei and the fool carried all the things from the oxcart into the house.

Jiang Yuwei told the simpleton to eat something to tide him over, while she went into the inner room to make his bed. Judging from the situation today, Madam Ge would definitely not let it go, so for the time being, the simpleton would have to stay here and watch the shop.
