Chapter 261 Will You Marry Me?

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly pushed Ning Huaizhi's wheelchair to the table, patted his shoulder to signal him to wait for her there, and then smiled at the skilled healer Zhu and said:

"You can rest assured when I cook; I guarantee you'll be satisfied!"

Then Jiang Yuwei hurried into the kitchen and brought out the remaining dishes one by one. Seeing this, the skilled Zhu, who was sitting on the recliner with her eyes half-closed, couldn't help but widen her eyes. Looking at the table full of dishes, except for the small green vegetable dish, every dish was one that she had eaten before. She immediately became interested and picked up the chopsticks on the table and started eating without waiting for anyone else.

Jiang Yuwei also handed Ning Huaizhi a pair of chopsticks and smiled:

"Huaizhi, you stay and eat with Miaoshou Zhu for now. I'll go in and see if Daya has woken up yet."

As she spoke, Jiang Yuwei entered Ning Daya's room. Just as she reached the bedside, she saw Daya groggily open her eyes. Jiang Yuwei quickly stepped forward, took Ning Daya's hand, and said anxiously:

"Da Ya, you're awake! Wait for me, I'll go call the miracle healer Zhu in!"

As she spoke, Jiang Yuwei hurriedly ran into the yard and said to the skilled chef Zhu, who was engrossed in eating:

"Da Ya is awake, Dr. Zhu, you should go in and take a look quickly."

Without looking up, Master Zhu waved his chopsticks, his mouth full of food, and mumbled indistinctly:

"It's good that she's awake. You, just remove the needles and clean the wound."

When Tie Zhu heard that Ning Daya had woken up, he was overjoyed and wanted to come in to check on her, but Jiang Yuwei stopped him outside.

"Tiezhu, don't come in. Da Ya can't see you right now. Hurry up and make Da Ya her medicine. I'll cook her some millet porridge to tide her over before giving her the medicine."

Upon hearing this, Tie Zhu nodded happily and said:

"Okay, okay, Sister Yuwei, please take good care of Daya. I'll go brew the medicine right away!"

With that, he ran into the yard without looking back.

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei could only shake her head with a helpless smile. Then she went into the house to remove the needles from Ning Daya. After removing the needles, she fetched some spiritual spring water to wipe Ning Daya's body, then washed her wounds with water, changed her dressings, and re-bandaged them.

Seeing that Ning Daya's wounds had healed very well thanks to the nourishment of the spiritual spring water, and were no longer as frightening as when she was first injured, Jiang Yuwei took another cup of spiritual spring water and fed it to Ning Daya little by little.

After Ning Daya finished drinking the water, she finally felt she had the strength to speak.

"Sister Yuwei, have we arrived in the capital?"

Jiang Yuwei shook her head and smiled:

"Not yet. We're at the home of the legendary healer Zhu. He's the one who saved you from your injury."

Ning Daya nodded weakly and said:

"Sister Yuwei, please thank them properly for me. By the way, are you hurt? I remember a man tried to stab you with a knife."

Seeing that Ning Daya was so badly injured herself, yet still worried about others, Jiang Yuwei took her hand and patted it gently a few times, saying:

"No one was hurt, so just focus on getting better. We've driven away all those refugees, and we killed the man who hurt you. Don't worry about anything now, just focus on getting better. Once you're feeling better, we'll continue on our way."

Ning Daya nodded in relief after hearing this, adjusted her lying position, and then, as if remembering something, looked at Jiang Yuwei with a guilty expression and said:

"Sister Yuwei, it's all my fault for being useless. I made everyone worry and caused delays in our plans."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Yuwei's nose tingled with tears. She then turned her face away, gently wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes with her sleeve before smiling and turning to look at Ning Daya.

"Da Ya, what nonsense are you talking about? You got injured while saving me. I don't even know how to thank you enough. Besides, we've walked so far, we need to rest for a while, otherwise even the ox and horse can't take it. Just listen to your sister, focus on getting better, and don't worry about anything else."

As she spoke, Jiang Yuwei stood up, released Da Ya's hand, and smiled:

"Da Ya, take a nap for a while, I'll go out and cook you some millet porridge."

After saying that, Jiang Yuwei left Ning Daya's room, gently closed the door, and then turned her back and began to sob quietly.

She hadn't felt sad despite the hardships and exhaustion along the way, but seeing Ning Daya's guilty expression just now, she couldn't hold back anymore. What a wonderful girl, yet she had to suffer such an undeserved disaster because of her. If Ning Daya really died on the road because of this knife, Jiang Yuwei would never forgive herself.

Jiang Yuwei cried quietly for a while before forcibly calming herself down. She wiped her tears with her sleeve and went to cook millet porridge for Ning Daya.

To make the millet porridge more palatable, Jiang Yuwei added a little salt and oil.

Half an hour later, Jiang Yuwei saw that the millet porridge was finally cooked. She quickly ladled out a bowl, fanned it to cool it down a bit, and then took it inside to feed Ning Daya.

Just then, Tie Zhu brought in the medicine that had been brewed. Seeing Ning Daya leaning against the headboard, slowly drinking millet porridge, he immediately burst into tears of joy.

"Da Ya, you're finally awake! You scared me to death, boohoo..."

Ning Daya was also very happy to see Tiezhu, and gave him a weak smile:

"Alright, Brother Tiezhu, I'm perfectly fine. Don't cry anymore, or I'll start crying too."

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly put down her millet porridge, placed the medicine in Tiezhu's bowl on the table, glared at Tiezhu, and said:

"Why are you crying, you big man? Da Ya just woke up and she's still weak. Do you want to make her cry?"

Upon hearing this, Tie Zhu hastily wiped away his tears with his sleeve and said:

"I... I was just so happy to see Daya wake up. I'm not crying anymore, I'm not crying anymore, Daya, you shouldn't cry either."

Jiang Yuwei smiled helplessly at Tie Zhu's pathetic state and said:

"Alright, I think Da Ya has eaten enough. Wait for Da Ya's medicine to cool down a bit, then feed it to her. I'm going out to eat now. You can talk to Da Ya if you have anything to say."

After saying that, Jiang Yuwei patted Tiezhu on the shoulder and went into the courtyard.

Tie Zhu, somewhat embarrassed, found a stool and sat down in front of Ning Daya's bed, scratching his head as he said:

"Da Ya, are you full? Does your wound still hurt?"

Ning Daya looked at Tie Zhu and smiled, saying:

"I've eaten my fill, Brother Tiezhu, and the wound doesn't hurt much anymore."

Tie Zhu, his face flushed, looked at Ning Daya, his fingers twisting nervously around the hem of his clothes. Then, as if gathering his courage, he lowered his head and whispered:

"Da Ya, you really scared me to death! I thought I'd never see you smile again. I... I was so afraid, afraid you'd leave me, so..."

As Tie Zhu spoke, he raised his head, breathing rapidly, and looked at Ning Daya before continuing:

"Will you marry me?"
