Chapter 268 I Do Not Agree to Your Marriage

Jiang Yuwei couldn't recall any connection between herself and this woman, so she asked:

"I'm so sorry, I can't remember who you are right now."

Upon hearing this, the woman laughed and got up from the ground, taking Jiang Yuwei's hand warmly and saying:

"My surname is Wang, and my given name is Yu. My benefactor, you can just call me Wang Yu. Do you remember the person you saved at the Seven Sisters' Banquet on the Qixi Festival? That was me!"

Jiang Yuwei carefully examined Wang Yu before her, then smiled and said:

"Oh, it's you! You know I have a bad memory, so don't call me your benefactor. My name is Jiang Yuwei, just call me Yuwei!"

Jiang Yuwei did recognize Wang Yu, but Wang Yu's face was swollen like a pig's head from an allergic reaction that day, and Jiang Yuwei never imagined that the person she saved that day was the woman in front of her.

Upon seeing this, Wang Yu hurriedly and happily said:

"Okay, Yuwei, I live nearby. Have you eaten yet? If you don't mind, why don't you come to my place for a bite?"

Jiang Yuwei quickly waved her hand and said:

"I've already eaten before I left home, so I won't trouble you any further. You should go back now."

Hearing this, Wang Yu spoke with some reluctance:

"Alright then, I live at No. 8 Que Lane. If you have time in the future, you can come to my house to visit me."

Jiang Yuwei smiled and patted Wang Yu's hand, then pulled her hand away from hers.

"Okay, I've got it. You should head back now, I'm leaving soon too."

As he spoke, the clerk handed the packaged seven doses of medicine to Jiang Yuwei. Jiang Yuwei quickly took the medicine and prepared to go to the counter to pay, but Wang Yu stopped her and said to the clerk who had delivered the medicine:

"Put Xiaochun on my tab, and I'll have someone come to my residence to collect the silver later."

Upon hearing Wang Yu's words, Xiao Chun nodded eagerly and left.

Jiang Yuwei was about to call out to Xiaochun when Wang Yu stopped her with a smile.

"Alright, this little bit of money is nothing. You saved my life that day, and I haven't even paid you for your medical treatment yet. Doing something for you like this will make me feel more at ease."

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly waved her hand and said:

"It was really nothing I did that day, you don't need to worry about it. By the way, remember not to eat anything containing soybeans again, okay?"

Wang Yu smiled and nodded, saying:

"Actually, I've known I have this problem for a long time. I used to sneak a piece or two of soybean cake occasionally, but the swelling would only last for a short while before it would go down. That day I was happy so I ate a few more pieces, and who knew that I would make such a fool of myself."

After saying that, Wang Yu sighed helplessly.

Jiang Yuwei was speechless upon hearing this. How greedy must this person be to risk their life for a soybean cake?

Out of kindness, Jiang Yuwei still offered a reminder:

"I advise you to eat less of this in the future. After all, your life is more important. Alright, I'll stop here for now. I need to go back and prepare medicine for my husband."

Upon hearing this, Wang Yu nodded hurriedly and saw Jiang Yuwei off.

Jiang Yuwei quickly returned to Zhuxiang with the medicine she had prepared. As soon as she entered the courtyard, she saw Ning Huaizhi using crutches to exercise his legs.

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly dropped the medicine packet she was holding and went to help Ning Huaizhi, scolding him playfully:

"Huaizhi, I know you want to stand up, but you can't be in such a hurry. This is the first time that Master Zhu has given you acupuncture. Won't walking around like this back and forth be counterproductive?"

Hearing Jiang Yuwei's voice, Master Zhu came out of the house and glared at her fiercely.

“I told him to exercise more. His legs have lost strength from not walking for so long. Right now, he needs to exercise in conjunction with my acupuncture. Otherwise, even if he can stand up, all his martial arts skills will be wasted. A grown man doesn’t deserve to be treated so preciously. Letting him walk more will help him recover sooner.”

Upon hearing what the skilled healer Zhu said, Jiang Yuwei released her grip on Ning Huaizhi's hand, but still looked at his legs with some concern.

Seeing this, Ning Huaizhi quickly smiled and said to Jiang Yuwei:

"Yuwei, don't worry about me. I feel much better now. I've been wanting to stand up and walk around for a while now, so I'll have something to do. I'm fine. If I get tired, I'll rest."

Hearing this, Jiang Yuwei could only nod to Ning Huaizhi and say:

"Okay, then take your time walking, there's no rush."

Ning Huaizhi smiled and nodded at Jiang Yuwei, then began to walk step by step in the courtyard.

Jiang Yuwei watched for a while, and seeing that he was walking well, she felt relieved. She picked up the medicine bag from the doorway and handed it to Tiezhu, saying:

"Tiezhu, take this medicine and decoct it. I'm going inside to check on Daya."

Upon hearing Jiang Yuwei's words, Tie Zhu, who had just come out of the main house, quickly took the medicine packet with a smile and said to Jiang Yuwei:

"Alright, Sister Yuwei, leave the medicine to me. Daya has been resting well these past few days, why don't you go in and check on her?"

Jiang Yuwei nodded and went into Ning Daya's room.

"Da Ya, how are you? Are you still in pain?"

Ning Daya smiled and shook her head:

"It doesn't hurt anymore, Sister Yuwei. I even want to get out of bed and walk around now. I can't stand lying here all the time."

Jiang Yuwei walked to Ning Daya's bedside and sat down, taking Ning Daya's hand to comfort her:

"Don't worry, the skilled healer Zhu said today that your injury is healing quite well and you'll be able to get out of bed in a few days. For now, just take good care of yourself. How have you been getting along with Tiezhu these past few days?"

When Ning Daya saw Jiang Yuwei mention Tie Zhu, her face flushed red, and she lowered her head and whispered:

"I, I think Brother Tiezhu is a good person."

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei smiled and tucked the stray hairs from Ning Daya's forehead behind her ear. She looked Daya up and down before speaking:

"How good is he? Is he a good person I can entrust my life to?"

Ning Daya was too embarrassed to speak, so she just lowered her head and nodded gently.

Jiang Yuwei patted Ning Daya's hand and smiled:

"Since you like Tiezhu and Tiezhu likes you too, why don't we wait until your injuries heal in a few days, and then make some preparations to get married?"

Upon hearing this, Ning Daya looked up at Jiang Yuwei in surprise and said:

"Sister Yuwei, did Tiezhu say this to you? Does Aunt Zhou...do she agree with it?"

Jiang Yuwei smiled and looked at Ning Daya, saying:

"Tiezhu didn't say it, but even a fool could see what he was thinking. Aunt Zhou would naturally agree more than anything, and now she's just waiting for you to speak up."

Ning Daya blushed even more upon hearing Jiang Yuwei's words, and simply lowered her head and whispered:

"Sister Yuwei, I, I'll do whatever you say."

Seeing Ning Daya's reaction, Jiang Yuwei decided to tease her, so she released her hand and looked at her seriously, saying:

"Actually, I don't want you to marry Tiezhu."
