Chapter 447 Liu Shi Gets Beaten

Jiang Yuwei had been busy all day preparing the meal, and just as she put it on the table, she saw Ning Zhao return with Yan An.

"Mother, I'm back."

Ning Zhao washed her hands and then sat down at the dining table.

Jiang Yuwei pulled Ning Wan to sit down as well, looked at Ning Zhao, and asked:

"How are you feeling?"

Ning Zhao smiled and picked up her chopsticks.

"I didn't find today's exam too difficult. I'm just waiting for the results. There shouldn't be any problems."

Jiang Yuwei smiled and handed the rice cake in her hand to Ning Zhao.

"Alright, then your mother and Wan'er will wait for your good news. Whether you pass the exam or not, we're not afraid."

Ning Zhao took the rice cake, took a big bite, and smiled at Jiang Yuwei.

"Yes, Mother, I understand. Don't worry."

Seeing this, Ning Wan hurriedly tugged at Jiang Yuwei's sleeve and said anxiously:

"Mother, I want rice cake too! I want to eat rice cake too!"

Jiang Yuwei smiled and picked up another piece of rice cake, placing it in Ning Wan's bowl.

"Be careful, the rice cake is hot."

After saying that, Jiang Yuwei picked up another rice cake and put it in her bowl. Then, remembering what Ning Zixuan had said earlier that day, she said to the two children:

“Your father has already reached the border and won a battle. Once they recover the lost cities, they can return to the capital.”

Upon hearing this, Ning Zhao and Ning Wan exchanged a smile and happily said:

"Great! I knew Dad was the best!"

Jiang Yuwei smiled faintly as well. Although she spoke lightly, only the soldiers on the battlefield could truly understand the hardships contained in those few words.

Once the war started, the surrounding people would suffer as well, and the lives of the soldiers could be lost in an instant. Jiang Yuwei didn't know how many soldiers' blood had been used to win this victory.

Thinking this, Jiang Yuwei lost her appetite and just smiled as she watched the two children eat. After they finished eating, Jiang Yuwei instructed Xia Yue to clean up the food.

The next day,

Jiang Yuwei hadn't visited her shop on Jin Street for several days and wondered how it was doing. Since she had some free time today, she invited Yun Qing and Xia Yue to go to the shop together.

As soon as she arrived at the shop entrance, she saw a wooden box rush out of the shop. Fortunately, Yun Qing, who was behind her, reacted quickly and used the hilt of his sword to knock the wooden box away, thus preventing Jiang Yuwei from being hurt.

Jiang Yuwei, disregarding everything else, hurried inside and saw Yao Guang fighting with a burly man. Aunt Zhou and the others dared not approach, while Ning Wu and the other guards tried to break up the fight.

Upon seeing this, Jiang Yuwei suddenly shouted loudly:

"What are you doing? Are you trying to smash up my shop?"

Yao Guang was initially in the lead, but Jiang Yuwei's shout startled him, and he took a solid punch to the face. Yao Guang wanted to fight back.

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly called out:

"Yao Guang, that's enough!"

He then instructed the guard standing beside him:

"Quickly pull them apart!"

The crowd then rushed forward and hurriedly separated the two who were wrestling. Jiang Yuwei, seeing that the man was an unfamiliar face, looked at Yao Guang with a stern expression and asked:

"who is he?"

"They are customers in the store."

Jiang Yuwei frowned upon hearing this. Yao Guang seemed like a steady person, so how could he be getting along with a guest?

Before Jiang Yuwei could speak, the guest spoke first.

"You must be the owner of this shop. I was beaten up in your shop. What do you say we do about this?"

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly smiled and said:

"Please don't worry, let me find out what happened."

Seeing Jiang Yuwei say this, the guest glared at Yao Guang and then spoke up:

"What else do you know about what happened? Didn't you see how badly he beat me? Anyway, it was one of your employees who hit a customer. So, how do you plan to resolve this?"

Jiang Yuwei glanced at Yao Guang, who was keeping his head down and not saying a word. At this moment, Liu, who was standing to the side, stepped forward and stammered:

“Madam, this has nothing to do with Yao Guang. It was me. I was collecting money at the counter when this man was queuing up behind me. He complained that I was collecting money too slowly and that it was delaying his meal, so he hit me.”

As she spoke, Liu looked up at Yao Guang again and continued:

"Yao Guang was originally on the second floor. When he heard that I had been beaten, he rushed downstairs without caring about anything else and started fighting with him."

After hearing this, Jiang Yuwei gave Yao Guang an approving look. This man was responsible, and if Liu Shi really married him in the future, she would definitely not be bullied.

Thinking this through, Jiang Yuwei turned to the guest and spoke:

"You mentioned earlier that the cashiering was slow because we have a lot of customers, and we will add more cashier counters in the future. But you started by hitting someone, so you are in the wrong."

As Jiang Yuwei spoke, she looked the person in front of her up and down and continued:

"If you can't wait, you can come back when the store is less crowded, or go to another store to eat. In any case, there's no need to resort to violence, is there?"

The onlookers, seeing this, quickly echoed his sentiments.

"Yes, you've caused all this trouble, and we've all been delayed because of you."

"You're right. We've been playing for so long. If it weren't for you, we would have already finished shopping and left."

Seeing this, Jiang Yuwei quickly instructed Xia Yue:

"Go to the counter and collect the money first."

After saying that, he looked at Aunt Zhou and the others.

"You all go back to your positions and resume business as usual. Yunqing, you tidy up this floor."

After giving her instructions, Jiang Yuwei said to the guest:

"Let's talk in the backyard, sir."

Seeing this, the man put his hands on his hips, tilted his head back, and said disdainfully:

"I won't listen to you. Why should I go to your backyard? I'm going to say it right here: you make that man apologize to me and pay me back!"

Seeing his unreasonable behavior, Jiang Yuwei stopped being polite to him.

"I can agree to all of this, but only if you apologize to Liu first and pay for her and Yao Guang's medical treatment. Only then can I compensate you!"

Seeing that Jiang Yuwei's tone was unfriendly, the guest glared at her and said:

"Don't be so arrogant with me. Do you know who my brother is?"

"I don't know, and I don't want to know. If you can't do what I just said, then get out of our shop. You and your brother are never allowed to set foot in this shop again!"

As she spoke, Jiang Yuwei glanced at him sideways.

"Otherwise, I'll beat you every time I see you!"

The guest glanced at Yao Guang, who was now glaring angrily at him, and the guards standing behind him, and his arrogance subsided. As he walked out, he turned back and pointed at Jiang Yuwei, cursing:

"You wait, your business won't last long. I'm going to the county government to report you to the authorities right now!"
