Chapter Ninety-Three: The Wolves Attack

It's darker down below the cliff than up.

Even though the sky was still dark, the area below the cliff was already completely dark.

Fortunately, Jiang Mingwei had prepared torches beforehand, so she wasn't completely in the dark while navigating through the area.

She could already hear the howls of wild beasts in the distance, so she quickened her pace and hurried toward the cave.

He had a lot of herbs tucked into his other elbow.

As she had thought, there was plenty of water at the bottom of the cliff, and no one ventured there, so there were many medicinal herbs.

Based on Wei Jing's current symptoms, she collected several appropriate remedies and also obtained a few potent antidotes.

There's no time to lose now, and resources are limited, so she has no choice but to try everything, both internal and external treatments, she refuses to believe it won't work!

He was in so much pain that he was limping when he walked. Luckily, no one saw him, or they would have laughed their heads off.

When we arrived at the cave, the campfire was burning brightly, completely dispelling the cold and leaving only warmth.

Wei Jing leaned against the stone wall, her face even more pale than when she left. She practically scrambled forward to check his pulse.

Thankfully, he's not dead yet.

If he had returned three incense sticks later, Wei Jing might not have made it.

Looking at the three wounds on Wei Jing's body, Jiang Mingwei was at a loss.

Two are on the left arm, and one is on the lower abdomen.

Applying medicine through clothing is too troublesome, and who knows how many bacteria might be on the clothes...

After thinking it over, she reached for Wei Jing's collar.

While her hands trembled as she untied the cloth, she secretly observed whether Wei Jing had woken up.

If Wei Jing were to wake up and happen to see her undressing him, he would be in a truly hopeless situation!

"I'm sorry, Wei Jing, it's not that I wanted to take off your clothes, it's just that I had to do it. Please don't think I'm trying to seduce you! I'm not interested in you right now. I'm just a doctor of high moral character."

She murmured to herself, and finally unbuttoned Wei Jing's outer garment, followed by his inner garment.

Fortunately, the undergarment was still relatively clean and had been dried by the fire earlier, so it could be used to bandage the wound later.

Jiang Mingwei thought about it, so she gritted her teeth, made up her mind, and took off her undergarment as well!

Soon, Wei Jing's muscular upper body was exposed before her eyes...

Even knowing that human life was at stake, Jiang Mingwei's eyes still lit up.

He has an excellent physique, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. His inverted triangle body shape makes him stand tall and straight, and he has well-defined chest and abdominal muscles!

Under the firelight, it even had a healthy wheat-colored sheen, making you want to reach out and touch it.

Fortunately, Jiang Mingwei has a moral bottom line.

You can touch your abs anytime, but if your life isn't saved, then it's truly over!

She pulled his undergarment over and ripped it into strips with a tearing sound.

After roasting it over a fire, it was then pressed directly onto his wound!

Even in a deep coma, Wei Jing's brows furrowed in pain, his austere face, combined with his battle-worn appearance, only fueled further fantasies...

Jiang Mingwei casually looked away, repeating this three times.

Unfortunately, the stream water isn't necessarily clean, but disinfecting it with fire can also stop the bleeding.

Apply the crushed medicine juice and dregs to his poisoned wound, then tightly bind it with a cloth strip. Roast the remaining herbs over a fire, and after roasting, crush them with a stone once more.

She placed them all on the sterilized inner garment fabric, wrapped them into a small cloth bag, and put it over Wei Jing's mouth.

With her left hand, she pinched his mouth shut, forcing a small opening, and then squeezed the medicine packet in her hand. The green juice flowed slowly into Wei Jing's mouth through the packet.

Jiang Mingwei struggled to maintain her kneeling position.

Only after squeezing out every last drop of the medicine and putting it all into his mouth did he slump to the ground in despair...

"That's enough. With internal and external treatments, whether you survive or not depends on tonight! Although you were spared by meeting me, if fate truly decides to take you, there's nothing I can do."

"So Wei Jing, try your best to live on!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Mingwei saw the purplish-blue color fade from his face, and he gradually turned pale.

It seems the medicine is working.

Although the handsome man was beside her, she lost the desire to bully him and simply straightened his clothes.

The belt was really hard to tie; she tried twice but couldn't manage it, so she just tossed it aside.

He sat down against the rock wall, staring at the fire. When the fire dwindled, he threw in another piece of firewood.

Before we knew it, night had fallen.

Looking out of the cave again, it was pitch black outside, and nothing could be seen.

But soon, Jiang Mingwei heard a low growl.

Her hair stood on end almost instantly!

This is the instinctive reaction of a living organism when it senses danger.

She immediately straightened up and looked outside. In the dim light, she squinted and almost couldn't see clearly, but fortunately, the firelight inside the cave illuminated the outside a little.

At least it allowed her to make out the outlines of those guys—

It's a wolf!

Jiang Mingwei's heart tightened, but thinking of the medicinal herbs she had deliberately scattered at the door when she returned, she couldn't help but feel a little expectant...

Soon, Jiang Mingwei lost count of how many pairs of cold, green eyes were staring intently at her and Wei Jing, as if they were about to burst in and tear them to shreds!

Turning to look at Wei Jing, who was still unconscious, her heart raced. She could only straighten her chest and cheer herself up.

"I'm telling you, I'm not afraid! Come on in if you dare, I want to see if you dare to cross the Silver Pearl Grass!"

The wolf clearly sensed Jiang Mingwei's provocation and was eager to step forward, but as soon as it entered the cave, it suddenly seemed to be attacked and immediately retreated several steps.

Seeing this, the other wolves also retreated.

Jiang Mingwei's eyes lit up, and she almost jumped for joy.

It worked! It actually worked!

She had heard her tutor introduce a herb called Silver Pearl Grass during class.

It is useless to humans and cannot be used to treat diseases or save lives, but it can emit a very strong odor attack that is unbearable for some carnivorous animals.

Jiang Mingwei had long guessed that there must be wild animals in this place, so while searching for medicinal herbs for Wei Jing, she also kept an eye out for Silver Pearl Grass, just in case.

I can't believe it actually exists!

Without hesitation, she plucked a few plants and placed them at the entrance of the cave on her way back, just in case.

Actually, when placing these silver bead grasses, Jiang Mingwei was extremely nervous because she wasn't sure if what the teacher said was true or false.

After all, when she was in school, wild carnivores were rarely seen except in uninhabited areas.

What if the teacher says something wrong?

But in this situation, she had no choice at all!

Who says studying hard is useless? If she hadn't paid attention in class, she might not have lived to see tomorrow!

Just as Jiang Mingwei was feeling excited, Wei Jing, who was beside her, suddenly developed a high fever.

His face was flushed, and he kept muttering, "Jiang Mingwei, Jiang Mingwei, don't die!"

Jiang Mingwei was startled and turned to look at him, as unfamiliar fragments suddenly flooded her mind...
